It's because cops are statistically more likely to be abusers than the average man. They're not going to take DV seriously. ACAB.

Ugh especially the part where she looked like a grown woman but in her opinion she was 17/18 tops! Then she does not look like a grown woman! She looks like an underage girl or a barely legal adult. And your husband is too old for that! And definitely too old to be this obvious about his lechery.

I'm also fond of a deadpan "ok" They so desperately want a reaction from you. These 1/2 word responses just take the wind from their sails.

Yes! A man comfortable and confident in himself will never have an issue going against the grain OR cutting out toxic people. I wouldn't want to be with a man who still gives in to peer pressure.

My husband had a friend who jerked it so much his dick went raw. He went to a doctor because he thought it was a rash and she told him to stop masterbating so much. He asked if she had like a cream or something he could use instead. She told him no, stop masterbating so much. Insane! (Had a friend because my husband quickly realized the guy was a huge misogynistic tool and cut ties)

But mothers are supposed to be selfless and giving and never ever want anything of their own! Moms don't have feelings, they're just nurturers with no interests and hobbies besides taking care of their husbands and kids.

My mom was not diagnosed with ADHD until her late 40s. She had no idea, because she had been coping with it her entire life and had a system that worked for her until she was too sick to use it properly. She was a working single mother studying to be an English teacher while I was a child and managed to take care of me, the house she owned by herself, work, and her school work. She might be a super human, but I find it hard to pity men who can't manage a fraction of what she did and expect other…

No, some men get off on that. And some want any female attention at all. Safest to block them

Ugh! I just can't enjoy things produced by asshole men. I'm the party pooper who tells people "sure his music is catchy but he was abusive" oh, but can't you seperate the artist from the art/ the art from his personal life? NO. How does that not just ruin the media for them? Knowing a fucking asshole had/has a life of fame and luxury, that people defend their shitty behavior. That its public fucking knowledge that they're scum and it barely effects their lives. The least I can do is not support …

I have to walk my husband through making his one meal a week when I'm making the grocery list. What do we have? What do you know how to cook? I literally just work part time (for my own money) because I refuse to work full time, pay for half and do 95% of the chores.

I know this is 2 days old but !!!! This is why I work part time for my own money and my husband works full time and pays the bills. The hours I'm not working are easily made up in hours spent doing housework even with his help. And he knows it! He supports this arrangement and frequently gives heartfelt thanks (with gifts).

"What do you want to know?" Idk. Maybe the point of the interaction is I learn what you want to say about you. What you think is cool about yourself? I'm not gonna play 20 questions to find out you play video games, Kyle.

Yes! Of course they feel like I'm special, I AM and I show it. But so many dudes either don't have a unique personality or just don't show it if they do. Why do none of them have unique interests or hobbies? Or even conversational skills

Same! It's got to be a decent chunk of membership. And I'm happily married, I just need somewhere where other women are talking about their experiences and expressing their feelings about the absolute bullshit of dealing with men.

Yes! Bob's burgers is so wholesome it made me realize how shitty other media is for family dynamics. I never accepted that they were acceptable relationships but now it's obvious you don't need those tropes to make a funny family-centered show. Its lazy and gross.

I still can't get over this in Chef! It's been years and in still mad Jon Favreau had an unbelievably beautiful ex wife and fwb/girlfriend! He wrote, produced and directed it. He literally wrote and financed a fantasy where he had been with both Sofia Vergara AND ScarJo.

I love how the show ended though. Might be frustrating (but great and hilarious and relatable) in the first seasons but I think the payoff is great.

I know for sure that my husband knows what flavors I like best and which ones I can't stand (in general flavor terms). So either this LVM doesn't care about her preferences or deliberately picked the one she hates. Either way he is garbage.

It goes against FDS but I've been an on again off again housewife for the past 6 years and generally have been happy about it. I have had a few full time and part time jobs and I'm most miserable when I'm working full time. I hate a lot of restrictive things about being employed. It helps that I can generally find work whenever I want, and when I work I am free to save/spend on whatever I like. My husband also likes to spoil me and sees it as spoiling him when I take care of his nonwork life. He…

They get real mad and insult me, but then I just respond something like "I'm not the thirsty guy asking strangers for nudes lol" then block.

Everytime a guy asks me for nudes I ask him for money. They get so offended! They're hitting on me based on a nonsexual tumblr where I frequently mention my husband and never mention my sex life. I'm not advertising my body, they ask for free access to view my amazing body for NOTHING in return. I'm not gonna get them off because they gave me one lame ass compliment. What are they offering? How do they have the audacity? What are they even thinking when they send these messages?

I feel like men don't have to be able to relate to enjoy the vast majority of media so they don't. It's why anything other than straight white male media has to be classified. Like chick flicks? Anything from dramas to rom coms just starring a female lead. We don't call shoot em up action movies that appeal to the male power fantasy dick flicks even though they're just as generic as a rom com. But everything from steel magnolias to the blandest romantic comedy is a woman's movie.

I also think they don't expect women in real life to be making jokes since "women aren't funny" so they don't catch on.

The book is honestly pretty FDS from what I remember. It basically says "if he's not making an effort he doesn't care about you, move on" the movie ignored all the points in the book and did the opposite.

Yeah, I never want to paint it as just women need to ask for more. There are lots of things keeping women from being paid what they're worth and very few are in an individual's control.

You nailed one of my biggest annoyances. I'm a confident person who is honest about my skills and achievements Multiple men have tried to tell me not to "brag on myself" or to be more humble but why? One reason women get less in the workplace because they are socialized not to toot their own horn. They downplay their accomplishments and their part in success. They ask for less money, expect less upward mobility. You being "humble" and "demure" only helps them and hurts you. If your confidence up…

I read a post about how extreme this subreddit was and I love hate reading stuff so I looked it up. Turns out was all fairly tame stuff, not some man hating gold digger subreddit. I subbed after reading the top posts.

I will see the obgyn who gave me my tubal until one of us leaves the city or she retires. Not only did she take me seriously when I told her I didn't want kids but every visit since she has taken any ailment or complaint seriously. I feel like her response to my goal of sterilization was a great litmus test

Not really FDS themed but I love Mindy Kaling and I find her shows hilarious (the mindy project is on hulu, Champions is on netflix). I also love Tina Fey so I like 30 rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Crazy Ex Girlfriend is better than the name implies but also a musical show. Female stand ups I like are Katherine Ryan's Glitter Room, Fortune Feimster, Ali Wong, Aparna Nancherla. Again, not viewing these through an FDS lense, so your mileage may vary.

I honestly find women-written comedies and even most female comedians funnier than men. There are exceptions both ways but the majority of my favorite shows are created by women.

I have ranted to friends about how i am absolutely tired of rape scenes. I watch a lot of horror movies and I am done the second that tired ass trope rears its head. It's not shocking or original, its hacky and cliche and it is lazy story telling.

It's about getting a ring that you want and would like. It's just considerate to buy a quality ring in the style your SO would like. You're showing someone you love them and want to be with them forever, why wouldn't you want to get them a thoughtful symbol of those feelings? I am very picky about jewelry and I don't like the popular styles in my area. My husband went to several jewelry stores before he found a style and stone I wanted. It would have been easier for him to get a more conventiona…

When we dine together, my husband won't go places that don't have good vegetarian options, even when it's his birthday. He is insistent that I should be able to have something good. Its not that hard to cater to specific diets these days. If someone makes a fuss about it on the first date it won't improve later, they won't respect your choices at some future date.

Cops have a higher rate of spousal abuse than the general population, so factor that in whenever they say nothing can be done about some trash man
