Or you can move on and find someone who is actually down to meet. There are literally thousands of users on these apps. I'm not wasting any more time than I have to on them. If they say no, whatever. If they say yes, there's a date. If there's anything that's old school, it's investing too much time into someone on an app who is "testing the waters" but not even intending to meet you or anyone else for that matter.

You’re totally right. Tinder and other similar apps are not for getting to know someone. They should always be seen as tools to arrange a meetup. Nothing more. You’re wasting your time otherwise.

And you can figure out whether you like her.

I’m always a believer of never asking a girl out. But inviting her to do something that you were planning on doing anyway. If she says yes, awesome. If not, whatever. Either way, you’re not disappointed.

I only speak basic Japanese and don’t have too much trouble. Then again, I’m better with dating apps. I’d have way more in-person opportunities if my Japanese was better. I’m white so I think some girls just don’t give it a chance right away. Others seem to prefer “stereotypical” western foreign guys. Kind of like how western guys fetishize Asian girls. Japanese girls on bumble tend to be more open with foreigners or half Japanese, I’ve found. As far as areas of Tokyo... Roppongi tends to have g…

Stop asking about availability in that way. Be more direct. Invite her to do something cool that you were already gonna do anyway. If she says no, that’s ok. If yes, that’s great. “Hey I’m going to check out this new bar on Thursday at 6. You should come with.” If she says she’s busy and doesn’t offer another time, it may be time to move on to other options.

Where are you from, and do you speak Japanese?

I live in Tokyo and live in a shoebox (260 sq ft). I have one burner and a small table to cut stuff up. I still cook up a dope stir fry or something for women before Netflix and chill. If I can do it, you can too!

More or less what I do. I don’t want to waste my time putting a girl on a pedestal, dissecting her profile only for her not to match with me. It’s a waste of time. I sift through matches later, then shoot a message.

I would just send it then. I wouldn't overthink openings. It's a waste of energy imo. Just send a quick message and move on. If they respond, awesome. If not, next. Seems like a lot of people get too invested into people that they know nothing about other than a few pictures.

If power poses work for you, that's great, but Cuddy's research is not scientifically valid and hasn't been replicated successfully. I don't want to discard your post; there's a lot of great take away here.

No, no, no. That's a generic answer. You gotta acknowledge the elephant. Try this: "It's funny, I don't really know how to introduce myself other than eating your face off! Ha! So, bare with me. I'm a little embarrassed about living in a sewer, but it won't matter anyways when I'm drowning you in agony down there, lol!" Make sure to maintain eye contact while dampening a white cloth with chloroform. Good luck out there!

Find something to do and say you can't hang out that day. "Hey I have to meet a friend in an hour." "I have plans for lunch with my brother." Something like that. Don't lie about it.

What the hell does fake it till you make it actually mean? Sure, I understand the concept, but making it applicable is extremely difficult for me.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
