"I told her she does not get a veto on my dream." Solid.

Sure, but I don't see where she said that it disgusts her.

She may or she may not, that's irrelevant.

Agree, this isn't a worthwhile observation. And to be fair, if you reverse the roles, the professor wouldn't be saying "I'm a better woman," he would be saying "I'm more feminine." I don't think every gender role related issue needs to become polarized, focus on what's actually important instead.

You can take the positive, forward-thinking advice and it can help you understand what you should be moving towards, however the motivation it provides will not get your far. You have to recognize that you're either seeking a better lifestyle for yourself because you want to improve your situation or you're actively refusing a poor lifestyle because that's what's been thrust upon you. You asked for a kick in the ass. You don't get a kick in the ass from people telling you to go out and better yo…

None of your responses in this thread show a willingness to learn - only to reaffirm. You actually thank anyone whose response is in agreement with yours. That's inviting a circle-jerk, not a thoughtful conversation. The two videos are fundamentally different in context and purpose, yet the video with Renata Laranja actually reveals some very similar nonverbal cues that she communicated in both situations. Your ignorance is rooted in your belief that out of the two examples, only one is allowed …

Wait, so she has PTSD and you have insecurities? Is your left nostril wider than your right one or something? I haven't read No More Mr. Nice Guy, but I'm sure glad you did because you clearly managed to self-diagnose your issues and went ahead and addressed them properly and effectively.. ..It sounds like you're listing symptoms / conditions / behaviors / tendencies or whatever title the author referred to them as straight out of a piece of text, but perhaps you chose the ones you liked more th…

Is it complicated? You mention her PTSD but you avoid naming your problem even though you're both strangers here. But she's more of a stranger than you..one extra degree of separation. Kinda shitty man. But that could be because you have friends who know your ID. But probably not. I'll never know, but I don't care, it's just a curious choice of explaining your position. So you admit you settled but you imagine she did? You sure you're not hoping she did?

The 90s called and you couldn't interrupt that lame shit to tell them about 9/11?! No, but seriously, he's giving OP his two cents about what worked for him, he's acknowledging that it's douchey, and he's being clear with his intentions. What's with the cynicism? I'm rocking a selfie with a kangaroo-bro and I can't complain.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRhK9bM4XgU I'm confused. You said you wanted honest answers to avoid a circle-jerk and to better understand nonverbal cues because you admitted to not being able to yourself. Every response agreeing with you thus far has been short, lacking in detail, and full of that "yeah, I see it but I can't explain it" banter, besides of course the one guy that actually drew a crooked line to back his view. And you eat that shit up, asking them how you can learn and what to …

I disagree with you regarding the first portion of the interview when they're still seated. Regarding some of their interactions: 0:04-0:08 - First introductions, her lips are tight, face otherwise expressionless, fingers clasped together. She's showing defensiveness. 0:09-0:13 - He's reading off his notes. Pay attention to her cues here. She wets and widens her lips, smiles at him while looking at his eyes, unclasps her fingers, runs her hands on her thighs, and slightly directs her shoulders t…

You've managed to lose an impressive amount of weight, but now you've plateaued. Your man-tits aren't genetic, so drop the creeping fat logic and continue to diet and exercise until they're gone, along with the rest of your excess fat. No amount of validation, especially from strangers on the internet, will rid you of that insecure feeling. Think of it as just a collective external contributor to the fat voice already inside your head. If you buy into the complacency it offers, you'll find yours…

your text from this morning already puts you in a position of weakness. you're effectively providing her with an opportunity to consider spending time with you instead of asserting yourself. "Do you think you'll make it tonight?" You even worded in a way that gives her an argument to justify flaking later on should you become upset with her, because all she has to do beforehand is warn you in advance and provide some false hope, and she's in the clear to do whatever she wants. you've been "hangi…
