His lawyers have already released a statement saying they plan to appeal this "perverse and bewildering" ruling. It's also worth remembering that this was only the libel case against The Sun newspaper. Despite what the judge said, this was not a trial to determine whether he abused Amber Heard or vise versa. This is where my search (and prior knowledge as an evolutionary psychologist) led me: I'm pretty sure OP was referring more to the creation of formalised and written languages—which date back to around 3,000 BC in the case of some of the oldest (Sumerian, Sanskrit, Tamil, etc)—rather than the evolution of linguistic communication itself.
