Social media/Internet has definitely accelerated the trend though we were heading that way anyway for a long time. Please correct me if I'm wrong but my opinion is that 1950s America was just about as good as it got in terms of ideals that formerly underpinned Western Society, I.e. nuclear family, aspiring and achieving a comfortable middle class lifestyle, etc etc. I know a lot of it was a front but I think things have slipped since then.

As someone who played 'soccer' in Europe I watched some of her clips on YT to see how good she is. I was shocked at how SHIT she is as a player.
