I'm a small business owner. Being able to save 20% on employee costs would be a life saver.

I love how this method of thinking completely removed the idea of the individual or individual action. In their mind there is no way an individual woman can have power over a man without some overreaching intervention. God forbid individuals be responsible for themselves and their actions.

It's pretty much a standard blockbuster, which is what we should expect from Disney. The reason it wasn't great has nothing to do with "feminists" being involved and everything to do with Disney wanting to make a shitton of money from a movie that appeals to the lowest common denominator.

Terry Crews was explicitly called out as one of the people who came forward by Time.

I think it's sarcasm in the first half.

As I said earlier, the text does not actually say why the research was "banned". It is likely a policy that is not specific to circumcision, but rather something more general. It could be an organizational policy to not conduct experiments on children under a certain age, or after an invasive procedure, or any other number of things. Now, I'm wrong feel free to correct me, but I'm assuming you don't have much personal experience or knowledge about medical or scientific research. I'm done trying …

It is human experimentation because the subject was a human, regardless of whether or not the experimentation involves potential physical harm or not. This is pretty much one of the first things anyone involved with research learns about. Causing physical harm is not the only ethical concern during experiments, so it is not the only criteria for "human experimentation". Anyway, the whole point of oversight is that the person performing the research is not the one who is allowed to determine if t…

Consent and oversight are a pretty big deal in research with human subjects for a couple reasons. The first reason is that it is very easy to mistakenly do harm to a subject, proper oversight can help prevent this and the subject should know the risks of the experiment. On top of that, historically there have been many experiments done on humans without any regard to the safety of the persons experimented on. For these reasons pretty much all experiments on humans require some kind of oversight.…

First, the text is not clear on whether or not it is not allowed due to law or due to the particular ethical code that the hospital follows for research. Second, my issue is if they were infact performing research without oversight on human subjects, not that they were studying the affects of circumcision or if the study is allowed or not. The use of human subjects, particularly ones that are not able to consent, without oversight is a massive ethics violation in and of itself, regardless of int…

Sounds like they performed the study without proper oversight and approval. Also, I'd be interested to find out exactly what prohibits this study, I doubt it is anything specific to circumcision. There are a lot of processes that need to be followed when doing research with any living thing and especially humans. If they had actually followed those processes and their research actually did violate ethical regulations I doubt it would have actually gotten to the point where they had data to relea…

Yeah, that's really an anomaly in that industry. In general due to the regulated nature of the industry it's extremely professional and bland. They need a lot of engineers, so it's a male dominated field as well just because of recruitment.

A girl accused me once because I rejected her. Fortunately for me it was only to her friends and never to police. But it was very worrying at a young age to have a girl come up to me and say "Are you the guy who raped my friend?". She was not a stable individual.

Speaking of not understanding statistics. It's also worth pointing out that the 50% includes women who have gone through multiple divorces. If it's a woman's first marriage it has a lower than 50% chance of ending in divorce. If it is not her first marriage it is way over 50%.

There is no such thing as "reverse gender discrimination", it's just "gender discrimination", regardless of whether it is against men or women.

Yeah, I was gonna say, all politics aside, Wonder Woman beats Thor 9 times out of 10 any day of the week. I'm not even a big DC fan, almost exclusively Marvel, and I know that Thor wouldn't win.

I once was standing in line at a store off my college campus, a girl got in line behind my friend and I with some couch drops and started making conversation. I don't recall what she asked us, but she was pretty awkward and after a minute or two we all stopped talking. Then, after some silence she said, "You should buy this for me." Pretty much her exact words. My friend and I basically just said "No", but we were both taken aback. If she had said, "Hey, I don't have any money and really need th…
