If sexual assault is equivalent to being sentenced to 5 years in prison, and accusation is equivalent to the sentence from the accusation, then sexual assault and it’s related sentencing is equivalent to accusing someone of it. I actually did a mini experiment on this Men were far more likely to hold doors for me (11-1 vs 1-9) but both genders seemed equally likely to thank me for holding a door (19-2 vs 10-1). This was done on a college campus. Numbers are skewed a bit in terms of interacting with more men due to mainly entering/leaving STEM buildings. I disregarded any thank yous or lack thereof if either party was wearing headphones, as I thought it would also impact wether people would say thanks or not. I am male.

I was loving that article until the end. Child abuse is not the child’s fault. Doesn’t matter if you’re frustrated because your child is crying, or because you’ve failed to find an outlet for your violent urges. Parenting can be hard, yes, but if you’re giving in and becoming violent just because your child tells you that you can’t punish them (as was used as an example in the article), maybe you’re not cut out to be a parent.

Wake up to what exactly? I understand there is sexism, but that’s not something can can be legally or politically fixed, outside of criminal actions, in the same way as racism.
