That's one theory. Or he could just be a guy who prefers to just sleep around instead of committing. Generally, many of these men also "peak" in college.

All (straight) men will want to bone Ms Swift. Outside of her big paycheck, there's nothing special she brings to the table. Just a flat (in every plane) blonde, white girl. There's definitely much better options, if you're going for the pure, "bone-ability" angle and take out her $$.

Assuming this isn't a troll post by the OP, you need to move on and commit yourself to a quality man.

Happy to share. Watching her TED talk earlier this year is actually how I stumbled onto her book. Should be a required read for all men and women past the age of 16, but it's an especially sobering read for women (and if you're not in your 20's, then hopefully you can gift it to your children or nephews/nieces).

Sounds good. By the way, the research on cohabitation didn't mention whether the couple wanted to have kids or not, but not wanting to have kids certainly extends your timeline. Just make sure you're not ignoring any big flaws or deal breakers.

My SO was very crystal clear that he'd never propose to someone unless he lived with them for at least a year due to relationship issues in the past. Not sure any guy that makes an ultimatum like that is the right one. But I hope your risk pays off. I highly recommend this book - http://www.amazon.com/The-Defining-Decade-Twenties-Matter-And/dp/0446561754 One of the topics it speaks in-depth on is the effects of premarital cohabitation on future marriage/divorce probabilities.

Good point. Though I got my DEXA scan through a Groupon offer ($79). It may still be active. Or you take the money you spend on several bodpods, you can just get a regular priced DEXA once a year (I don't think it's worth it to get these scans more often than that, unless you're a fitness competitor/bodybuilder). Here - take a look through results. Some are still active: https://www.google.com/search?q=groupon+dexa&client=safari&hl=en-us&biw=1024&bih=649&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwji9sjDlcXJAhU…

You live in NYC - you have access to probably the most concentrated amount of wealth/working professionals within a constricted space in the world. You could definitely try dating working professionals and not construction workers who are threatened by a woman who earns more. Someone above mentioned NYC has a lot of attractive, successful women, but not as many men of the same type. Not sure which NYC they are referring to or what their definition of "attractive/successful" is, but the one in Am…

As another poster above mentioned in great detail above, OP will definitely qualify for financial aid (and quite a lot of it, depending on the college). I think she should focus on getting an education - it's the fastest and longest-lasting way for her to gain her independence.

That is an interesting point - however, a consumer-driven woman who drives a luxury car/lives a lifestyle that is afforded by her parents (relatively common) or is a stretch for their income (like the teacher example you mentioned) is very different than someone who earns more than most men and drives a similar car. Either way, I can see your point, but I think it's not difficult to argue it really comes down to the individual female. Isn't it worth at least giving it a shot to see if the person…

Well the logic you're using is what many people use to justify going into "easier" majors and jobs - you would spend time working on something you suck at if it leads to much greater pay or career prospects than something you're "already good at." It works great for all the girls I knew in my college whose parents paid $50,000 a year in tuition for their daughters to study psychology or English, only for them to end up getting jobs paying $30,000 a year being an assistant or "social media strate…

I would also look into computer science or any form of engineering. All of those are high in demand. A lot of people say, well I suck at math/science/insert excuse. But 9 out of 10 times, it's a lack of motivation and unwillingness to work hard. If you suck at it, then get better. You already have one of the most powerful things that most people lack: desire and motivation. And persistence. Use all 3 of those to your benefit. And since you mentioned church, I agree with a poster above who sugges…

Okay, help out a n00b here - blue pill is the opposite of red pill, but what's purple? The middle? When I first read purple pill in your post, I thought about those old acid reflux commercials ("the purple pill called Nexium") haha.

Posting this separately as I think it would be useful for everyone on this thread: If you live near any of DEXA's locations, I can't recommend enough going and taking their metabolic rate test (and their body fat scan). http://www.dexafit.com/how-it-works-1/ DEXA's metabolic rate test is the most scientifically accurate RMR test (+/- 5%). They measure your O2/CO2 concentration in your breathing. RMR calculators are often extremely inaccurate, especially as you go up in height. DEXA is the gold s…

Okay fair enough - I can see how that can become frustrating. I will work on being a better commentator :-D. Also, what's PPD?

I never said RPW pushes alphas (my post you're replying to is referring to the men's red pill principles regarding game). But Land_Before_Thyme's posts certainly were. I agree with your assessment on a "good man" (sorry I don't know how to bold or italicize on here yet). Feel free to scan through my profile and find out how many actually mention religion. You might be reading the 2 posts (literally) where I actually mention it, and then declaring it as most of my posts lol. I just threw it out t…

Yes of course, I had a feeling the way I phrased my earlier post might be misleading - my point is you came here posting about the men who are ending it/backing away/feeling very uncomfortable because of issues with career, not because you're bemoaning the complete lack of available options. Also, here's your post regarding alphas: https://www.reddit.com/r/relationship_advice/comments/3rj2k6/i_f29_own_my_own_business_this_is_great_except/cwpvdue But as you said, you're still trying to figure out…

No, you're not missing anything about game. It's basically a way to artificially create "want"/desire in women. And then you have all the idiot women who fall for it. I've at one point or another been through all the online "game" communities, and 99% of the time, it's used as manipulation, even for married guys. It's used as a coverup for the following.... The men who don't need to do this are those of high value (for the record, I've yet to meet a single guy who is a "player" who is actually h…

Also Land_Before_Thyme, I don't want to cause a stir because I liked all your comments, though there was one that irked me - Your comment regarding the luxury vehicles - your now-husband said he never would have dated you if you had an Audi/BMW/Mercedes, etc. How is that "alpha"? I think twice when I read stuff like that; it makes me wonder what secret insecurity the guy is harboring. Or he had a bad experience with a girl who drove a luxury car in the past and is now applying that bad taste to …

Good response, although maybe don't confuse me defending OP as white knighting. I lived a similar situation as the OP when I was 22, although mine was the male version (how do I make sure the girl likes me for "me" and not my career/connections, etc.). I already sent OP a long PM with my specific feedback and mentioned my own background to put into perspective. Also regarding alpha, aside from the fact that I think the whole alpha/beta dichotomy is very blown out of proportion on the Internet (a…

Alright alright you win - innocent until proven guilty lol. Out of curiosity, any particular reason you like Iron Man? I know people who like to run/bike/swim but Iron Man is another thing altogether.

Oh I fully agree - appearance shouldn't even be part of this discussion since that's not the inflection point in her dating experiences. I just threw it out there because Land_Before_Thyme was asking the questions about singleinbusiness's appearance.

This is a pretty interesting link. I think I agree with your post - OP's choices are a guy who earns more and is okay with her still being financially independent on her own or a guy who earns less and is okay with her making more (as long as she doesn't grow to resent him over time because he's not pulling his weight in the relationship).

Hahah I knew my comment about triathletes would be controversial - however, this is backed by years of personal experience and of course science - my perspective is that of a former competitive strength athlete (I say former because at my height, I needed to maintain a much higher body weight than I wanted to long term in order to be competitive at the national level), so I've seen what type of bodies are generated across all types of sports. I'm just saying, women who tend to focus purely on we…

Personally, Land_Before_Thyme, I think you bring up some good points but are also overanalyzing some things too much. You ask valid questions but OP has already said she gets asked out, so obviously, she's meeting whatever minimum requirement all the men around her have regarding attractiveness. (although OP, I will say, triathlete women generally don't tend to have particularly feminine bodies (I.e. all the cardio tends to eat away any muscle/curviness, etc.) but that's another thing altogether…
