From what I understand, a VAP can be rescinded based on DNA evidence even after the sixty day period. And according to what you posted, even DNA testing will not change that. If you are not married, a VAP is used instead, and it is completely voluntary. If you don't believe you are the father, you don't have to sign it. So you aren't stuck taking care of some other guy's kid. (x-post from /self)I think the general idea is that you shouldn't sign it if you aren't sure. You're really only supposed to sign it if you know you're the father and are willing to accept responsibility for the child. If you end up finding out that you were lied to later on, you can get a test done and go to court to have the VAP rescinded. I am not sure how complicated the court situation is though. I am fairly sure that it just removes the need for a paternity test. If both parents sign it, they both recognize who the biological father is without having to go to court and do tests.
