The legal system is totally fucked when it comes to this, IMO. Overreactions and disproportionate punishments cause more harm than good to already traumatized children. Imagine being the child who ruined the babysitter's life, maybe eventually drives her to suicide. And not just any babysitter, but someone his dad was intimate with and protective of as well. The man has an 11 year old child. I'm guessing he's old enough to consider the babysitter he was having sex with a child too. He's probably being protective and playing damage control for two young people he cares about. I'm not saying it's okay, but I can see him saying these things in court just to help the girl, and then being more compassionate at home. I'm not so quick to call him "utterly despicable."

Lol you should definitely re-read the post. Judging by the horrible grammar/punctuation and plot holes, I'm pretty sure it was written by a 14 year old, or possibly a mentally challenged person. I don't understand. So she cancels a press release and claims to have been threatened. She later "clarified" that she was lying, and we are just supposed to believe that? The article makes it sound like if she had been paid off that she would have admitted it. I don't think that's how being paid off works.

Men must have an excuse to interact with children and have clear "proof" that they're not sexual predators. Even your language reflects that, IMO. Calling kids "ankle biters" is an instinctive attempt to sound like you have no interest in them. We live in a sad world.

I think you just misunderstood which part of your comment I had "never heard" before. I know about Kellog's anti-masturbation crusade, and I know it was believed by some that circumcision would prevent masturbation, and I can believe Quakers would do that. You made a few claims in your post. Quakers popularized MGM in America. Quakers accomplished this by saying it was a cure to masturbation. If a boy was caught masturbating more than a few times, he would be circumcised. Circumcision was used to deter masturbation through pain in the short term and desensitization in the long term. As far as I can tell, you didn't provide a source for any of those claims (and none of the sources I looked through backed them up either).
