It makes sense to me because there are so many more men in the military. Regardless the statistics on sexual assault in general are awful.

That's crazy. Like I said, I feel similar pressure because of the media but never had anyone with the audacity to glare at me let alone mutter comments. I'm glad you know you're confrontational and avoid conflict because of this. Your girls will one day learn to appreciate how much better a father you are because of this. Props to you, sir. I don't even know how I would react if I heard someone mutter comments like that.

Not sure what area you are in but that never happens to me with my girls. I do still feel the social pressure. When my oldest was under 2 and I was a single father I used to joke about how akward it would be if I got pulled over and took insurance out of the glove compartment because there would always be a spare pair of panties and socks. Despite the car seat in the back, I worried. But in the grocery store I get more looks because of how cute the girls are, etc. I often get compliments so but …

And don't forget the military in that exclusion. In the American military the majority of sexual assault victims are male.
