When divorce happens people ask "what did he do". It's somehow never "what did she do". My female friend/co-worker is signing divorce papers this Monday. They're both rather young, were dating since school but stayed in marriage for less than a year. She's rather resentful of him, and I have to admit my perception of the guy was influenced by that... Until I spoke with him, because ever since she introduced us to each other we've become friends as well. She made a case that he was absolutely unr…

Other women will call her a pick-me girl and dismiss everything she has to say, I can almost guarantee that.

Wait, you mean they're NOT gonna blame it on video games? Or write something along the lines of "men suicide rate record, women most affected"?

Didn't watch it, but I can tell how it goes by just looking at the atrocity of the comment section under this video. Yuck.

Maybe I'm being cynical, but the definition of suicide is a person literally killing themselves. Shouldn't using non-lethal methods be therefore reclassified as self-harm, rather than outright suicide? I just can't wrap my head around it. As always women just can't get shit done properly /s

Over the years I've had an aversion towards putting labels on people build, this probably wouldn't be an exception. While the traditional masculinity model might not be in as much of a decline as the article claims it to be, I think it's important for everyone to stick to their own understanding of masculinity. For me, it's not about being masculine, it's about feeling it. You want to be stoic and masculine? Go for it. You want to be sensitive instead? Doesn't make you any less masculine if that…

I generally don't assume things unless asked to by the person I'm assuming things about (helping friends figure their feelings and sort their thoughts out, or something along the lines) so that's okay. Well, thanks for pointing your gender out, and I'm saying that with no irony. It's nice to have that context when talking about gender differences. Honestly, I think in terms of anxiety it comes down to how well-educated a person is in terms of psychology. I generally find women to be more educate…

Well, from what I saw, you asked if anger was considered an emotion, and I think you're received a decent response. Is there any other emotion you know or would be happy to discuss in relation to men that isn't anger? I know some people have been conditioned to think anger is the only emotion men can ever feel, but I could tell you about how men feel and express other things if you have a particular interest. It'd be fun to see and compare men and women in that regard, if there's anything to eve…

Insecurity isn't an emotion, it's a state of mind. Just like empathy isn't an emotion exclusive to a certain group, it's a skill everyone can develop. Men can be be vulnerable, distraught, sad, genuinely happy for others to the point of shedding tears, frustrated, hurt, melancholic, etc. without being less of a man for it. There's a wide range of reasons for us to feel those emotions as well. But I have a hunch you're not here to be genuinely interested in this and discuss the topic, the snide r…

I honestly wish someone would show me a single unbiased study in that regard, because my experience tells me that women are much more hostile, aggressive and violent on average. That being said I know it's just my experience and is in no way indicative of how things really are, but still I wish to see some definitive proof. The only reason I haven't googled it is, to be fair, uncertainty in which sources can be trusted these days. It's alright, been to a psychiatrist, therapist and all. However,…

depression often manifests as anger in men Any data to back this up? I've been diagnosed with depressive syndrome (among other things) a couple years back and still get episodes to this day. I assure you I have no capacity to do anything but wail on the floor physically unable to get myself up until I'm done crying. My grandfather struggled with it and drank himself to death. In all the time I knew him he never raised his voice and to this day remains the most timid person I've known. My best fr…

The rules are very clear about what brigading is. A quote from /r/askfeminists: Witch-hunts/personal harassment are prohibited; other hostile/bad-faith actions against the forum and its users (including brigading) are also prohibited. What is brigading, exactly, by this definition? There's no explanation at all. All I found about reddit in general is this post, which states that there is only a rule against vote manipulation, and not against "brigading", which as far as I understand the term can…

it’s male ruled planet Which means jack shit to be honest. It's not like anti-women laws are passed left, right, and center, making the argument inapplicable. There is no conspiracy theory-level secret male society (call it masons, illuminati or, I dunno, patriarchy) that works towards absolute male dominance. Governments nowadays are truly a faceless, genderless entity that only strive to benefit from whatever public opinion is most popular right now. Majority is perspective is from male and th…

I know, it was more of a parody of the usual "reasoning" used by some people.

Remember kids: if you cheated on her, you're a lying two-faced no-good scumbag who used her, but if she cheated on you, you were not the man she wanted you to be and should have done more for her.

They were not lesbians, it was indeed for the sake of publicity gained by culture shock. It was after the collapse of the USSR, a lot of topics that are considered "freedoms" (sexual freedom in this case) were new and never publicly seen/discussed. If I find an interview/documentary about this, I'll post it some where around here, but no guarantee it's going to have English subs.

I don't think I am, at least not until the next wave of mobilization, as this one has officially ended. Furthermore, if I do manage to get an appointment with my psychiatrist and he prescribes medications again, I'm off the list. From what I've heard, drafting people on meds is a no-no for them, since aside from any moral or efficiency reasons, they won't be able to provide those meds on the frontline.

Hey there, I'm from Russia. Let me put things into perspective a little bit, at least how I see it: first, eastern european men are "chivalrous". they believe women's lives are worth more than theirs For people past the age of 30, this could be true. A lot of young adults and teenage boys, however, are long disenfranchised with this line of thinking. It doesn't help that many "western" patterns of women's behavior have seeped into girls out here. You're not gonna believe how many women are influ…

Could you then provide reliable, documented proof for us to look into?

"Crippling financial problems" The logical solution to that would be to get someone to help you. Which, I know, never works out because of lack of help and support. "Prison sentence" Truthful allegations aside (to which "don't commit crimes lol" would be the only logical answer) getting imprisoned due to false allegations again boils down to the lack of empathy towards men, IMO. "Loss of child custody/visitation" I guess I won't even elaborate on that because I think the point's been made in pre…

Well, this was just an example that came to mind, but there really are not that many problems like that and they're all pretty extreme.

As a logical person though, I'd say suicide is not a logical solution to most problems. From the standpoint of choice and consequence, the only problem suicide does solve is having a terminal illness that causes suffering. To THINK suicide is a logical solution to problems is, to me, exactly that - a sign of a mental problem, and I'm saying that as a guy who had suicidal tendencies and had to seek psychiatric help for the issues I had. With that, hovewer, I don't want to put all the blame on jus…

Just googled it, she was, indeed, put on a sex offender list for life. Source.

Pretty sure someone will interpret that as "well duh she's acting like this because men abuse her or some crap, she's fine when with other women". At least that's what the intended message looks to be for me.

So 9.5 years for raping a minor. The worst part is, she also had him take drugs for her own malicious purposes, and she wasn't sentenced for life.

It's basically when you somehow take your condom off without noticing. No idea how people do that and how women don't notice the difference immediately, but I'm not a woman, so can't tell if it's something men actually do, or if it happens on accident and men are blamed.
/r/MensRights04/04/22 07:21 AM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
