well honestly that was the problem, i'd go out and see other people hooking up or with their girlfriends, people would get drunk and say insulting shit (usually about the way i look) so id pretty much always end up going home in a worse mood than when i left. so to your point it only changed how i saw myself and the world for the worse. you'll say this response is self-pity but ask yourself, what if you went out for a decade and didnt have any positive experiences...

if it were as easy as go out and drink then everyone would do it but it doesnt work. every time i went clubbing i might as well have been a ghost

i'm white and get no matches, dating apps are for attractive/photogenic people only, regardless of race

if you're ugly you dont get a chance to display confidence because women wont interact with you to begin with, so no it isnt wrong, its based on a lifetime of experience

yeah of course you have a spouse, which is why you wont understand. if you were alone your whole life you'd think otherwise

experiences become meaningful when you do them with those you love

a fulfilling life to many is having a loving partner and family, not consumerist garbage and "experiences" that you'll forget the next day. if the possibility of your desired life is removed then so does your motivation to do everything else., it isnt an issue of being myopic, those other things dont have meaning

yes, it's why i stopped talking to practically everyone I know and refuse to make any new friends going forward. without fail everything i have ever opened up about has been used against me, maybe not immediately but after some time or even just a few beers it'll come out

crazy to think that the old social contract was at least dating a girl better looking than you in exchange for dating down in status + provisioning, now men have to date down in every aspect including looks, what a joke

I did music at school and most musicians were virgins. There were probably like 3 guys that got any attention and i'm sure you can guess it was because they were hot and just happened to play guitar given that the best guitarists didn't get a glance (and this was in a school of 1,800 kids and we regularly performed on stage so it wasn't like we were playing guitar in our bedrooms where no one knew us).
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/26 11:37 AM

i'd imagine guys on the verge reading some of the women's comments here will push them over the edge
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/26 09:32 PM

Most women aren't outside anyway. If I go to a pub or bar it's majority male, if I go to the gym it's mostly male, if I go to the tennis club it's mostly male. The only time women are at any of these places are women-only training sessions and when it's over they immediately leave, zero small talk and out the door. The only place I've seen women at are coffee shops and cocktail lounges and in both situations they huddle in their group or look down at their phone in the corner and show zero open …

It's the exact same for men, I have a decent amount & career, doesn't really matter if you're too ugly to have a conversation with. If I get made redundant then I'll be getting more cosmetic procedures too.

No-one voluntarily waits to start enjoying life or wants to be a late bloomer and rely on a transactional relationship for sex because it's a force state of being - if you are not attractive then it's the hand you're dealt, you wont get those experiences regardless of what you do.

Thanks for conceding it's only about looks then, rendering your OP incorrect as effort is irrelevant by your own admission.

Most guys could buy 1000 girls 1000 drinks and she'd still go home with a hot guy that bought her nothing, so what's the point?

Crazy how everyone here is missing this. I have a high paying career and been in the gym / have played sports for a decade but get no matches because I have an ugly face, that's literally all it is. Why would you "grind" for nothing to change?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/25 11:57 PM

Lol, women on this sub call the men here autistic and yet you take the "all the same" comment to be completely literal like an autist, good shit

Yes, 3 bi friends asked to sleep with me and I've been cold approached by 1 gay guy on the street, also complimented by one at a train station at random, wasnt really an appraoch but just a passing compliment.

/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/25 02:46 PM

Of all the ugly people I know, they generally don't go out, so unless they are going to work they are probably indoors, myself included. They also don't have social media so don't exist online either.

I think this just goes to show that unless you were born lucky enough to be an attractive person, you will always struggle with the reality that your partner will never fully want you ever, man or woman. A lot of unhappy people out there, and half of it isn't anyone's fault.

I have probably a dozen of the same kind of stories which is why I no longer have friends. People here say it's a red flag to have no friends, to me it just means you've experience people enough to realise what they are.

That's because this entire sub focuses on actions and behaviour instead of the person carrying it out. If two individuals can act in an identical manner and have wildly different outcomes, it is in fact NOT about actions but the person instead.

Notice how all I said was hot vs reliable, and you go on a tangent about ugly people being bad, and not responding to the point in general but hyper focusing on the looks element. I made no mention of an ugly guy at all, just a reliable one, but your mind jumps to this implication - quite telling to be honest.

This attitude is growing as men realise that they are forced into subsidising women's poor mate choices. If women are free to choose their partners, they should equally incur all consequences of that free choice. At the moment, choosing poorly is subsidised by men in the form of child benefit, social housing benefit, state education, child care, healthcare etc. If you want a hot guy over a reliable one, that's absolutely fine, but why do you feel entitled into taking resources from others unrela…

Every ugly guy I know is either still a virgin at 30 or chronically single, even if they were abusers they don't have anyone to abuse to begin with.

Yeah there's probably an element of sanity maintenance to it, but beyond that doesn't seem to result in anything.

I live in London, everyone is closed off unless they're in a club on drugs or shit faced drunk. I don't think it's weird either - if I see someone wearing a band t-shirt of a band I like, why would I discuss it with a stranger, I don't exactly care, loads of people like the band so it doesn't mean anything. "Cool band tee, thanks man" - end of convo. True extroverts are a minority as most people cluster around the mean.

Socialising is practically a second job but with an extremely low payout, think doing overtime but instead of 2x pay you get 1/10th instead, it's unlikely to have a big uptake, which probably explains the aversion to it (unless you're in the minority of naturally extroverted and genuinely get some positive emotion out of it). Imagine every time you went out no one ever initated a conversation, asked you a question about yourself, displayed any open/interested body language, no smiling, barely an…

Never has a platonic girlfriend introduced me to her friends, nor do I know of anyone who has met their partner through friends of friends, it was either school (rare) or online dating (all of the remainder), and I'm 29 in London. My guess is that a lot of those men have this same experience and conclude the time isn't worth the investment, especially if you still genuinely like the woman that isn't interested in you - it's just pain instead.

I actually have the same issue as your number 2, I look average face on (so my pics only show face on) but I have a large hooked nose so my profile is disgusting, it's always at the back of my mind.

Basing it off people I work with, the few standout ones would be rudeness, condescension, constantly interrupting others and/or talking over them, generally negative and extreme shyness. I guess most of it can be summed up by the ability to "read the room", but anyway, all of the above can be fixed.

They probably don't work because larger factors like extreme social deficits, neurodivergence, height, or an unfortunate face is enough to nullify these side factors. Of course it would be nice for a girl to have a boyfriend that is in shape, well groomed, confident with a nice set of teeth, but that's a cherry on top. You can't fix any of the others (except the social deficit) which is why attacking the wrong issues makes no difference, like studying harder to improve your 100m sprint time.

I've been visibily in shape for just under a decade (at least enough to get unsolicited comments on my physique, though I do work in offices and almost everyone here is out of shape so it's easy to "stand out" with only a small amount of visible muscle & low body fat) - women do not care in the slightest. Maybe it works for some guys, but I've never heard or seen it make a difference.

The vast majority of things in life *generally* increase in output if you increase the input (study more = higher grade, lift more weights = bigger muscles etc.), whereas dating doesn't seem to follow this trend, so if you're increasing the input with no commensurate output you will feel ticked off. Also, achievements celebrated alone tend to ring hollow, no matter the accomplishment, they are not a source of joy in and of themselves. If you were the last person on earth, would dressing well and…

But isn't the burden of performance only when trying to sleep with those women? E.g. hanging out with female colleagues I never have that feeling so it's relaxed, but when interacting with guys (of any type) it ALWAYS has an underlying competitve dick measuring element about literally anything (car you drive, holiday destinations, salary, notchcount, achievements etc), constantly trying to one up each other, shit gets tiresome and annoying real quick, even if you're the one "winning". I can only…
