I once read a whole multi page article from a man telling women "how to get your man to tell the truth" that involved: setting the mood to relax him touch him gently and maybe even sit on top of him Be cute and playful make sure to be non confrontational make sure you he knows your are chill and won't judge him for the outcome of his honesty Like, WTF???? Why do women have to put in so much effort to "get" someone to tell the truth. This guru just admitted men are basically liars and women have …

I agree. I wish it didn't have to be that way where women cut down men and place a high value on certain aspects of their appearance. I never would dream do that to a man but when I see women doing it at a tiny fraction of what we are up against and men still don't see the hypocrisy.

I seriously don't get this mentality of a "free meal". I could give a shit less about getting a free meal. I eat simply and am kind of picky and I have zero interest in getting free food from anyone. Sure it's nice if someone pays and I appreciate it but I would not waste my time hanging out with someone for free food. No thanks. I don't care how fancy the restaurant is or how good the food is. I don't understand where they get this from? Are there really women who date for free food? I mean, I'…

Totally. I still struggle to wrap my head around the 50/50 thing sometimes but you have captured some of it. The bottom line is due to biology and cultural norms men have far more power in romantic relationships. Offering to pay shows they are aware of this and are willing to balance the power through money. Which is not ideal and doesn’t make things perfect, but it’s a gesture in the right direction.

Seems perfect but is actually a perfect chameleon, molding himself into what you want to see based on your feedback--this is that initial emotional intelligence being used to your disadvantage, many run-of-the-mill LVM don't have the perception to do this well I have been reading so many reddit posts that reflect this. Men who pretend to want kids or not want kids based on what the woman wants for example. Men who pretend to be more in line with the woman's politics than what he truly feels, etc…

You read my mind. I have been just thinking a lot about how so many of these men behave like narcissists within their relationships with women but not in other relationships. It's really based on this power dynamic that men have, some of it is biological (men are less vulnerable), most of it is based in learned behavior, (societal expectations and the objectification of women). A HVM will recognize this and be responsible with the power he has and never exploit it as he will see women as his equ…

This is definitely true. Men only want women to communicate if it’s not a “complaint” about them. Most defensive tactics from men are to silence women and get them off their back.

Thank you so much for writing this out. I appreciate your insight. Also, if you decide to become a lawyer, you could specialize in helping women divorce these men and men's narcissistic behaviors. Women need lawyers who understand the levels of manipulation men put women through and how wrecked women get in the process.

I wish it would be a crime if a man manipulates, lies, or misrepresents himself for sex or a relationship that includes sex. It's the same as manipulating (scamming) someone into giving you their money, except it's your body which could lead to illness or death.

It's a lot to explain and honestly I don't remember all the details so I am going to over simplify. Basically the "participants" in the "study" had to rate women on attractiveness based on pictures they were presented. Men of all ages that participated tended to give younger women higher ratings of attractiveness, where women would rate men their own age the most attractive. The problem was there was no methodology. It was never set up as a scientific study. We don't know how the pictures were c…

If this was the OK Cupid study it was extremely flawed and has been twisted quite a bit since publication. It was not a scientific study what so ever.

This is totally the truth. Every male friend I ever had wanted more and would start to get weird if I was dating someone else. One male friend I had ended up sexually assaulting me. There is research that has indicated that men almost always choose female friends based on who they would like to sleep with and are attracted to. Meaning, these men likely fantasize about you. Anecdotally, men will flat out say that they would not be friends with a woman they are not attracted to. I'm sure there are…

They want to define a woman's worth and have control over it. They want a woman's value to be based on what they think as though they are the deciders.

When a men compliments me it always feels a bit off. Sure I suppose there is some reward in it but instantly fades due to it being a man and he is giving it more to feed is own ego by getting a positive response from me. Men feed off positive responses from women. This is why it's so important to them that we smile at them and they take offense when we don't. They are constantly looking for this validation from women. They also think they are some kind of hero for giving women their positive att…

I was banned from there too and it didn't make sense to me. I was willing to be wrong and learn from my mistake, but the mods wouldn't answer me when I asked. I wonder if they are looking to see who is on FDS and banning them? I have no idea. I don't want to make baseless accusations. It was just a thought I had.

Agreed that porn is a HUGE contributor. Sadly I do know a few young women with much older men. Makes me sick.

They truly believe young women are attracted to old dudes. I don't know how they sell themselves this delusion. I guess enough young girls end up with an older man so there is some confirmation. They have heard enough younger women say George Clooney is hot. Every time an old dude parrots "butwhataboutGeorgeClooney"? I want to scream. Honestly then, why isn't George Clooney married to a 19 year old? What bothers me the most is WHY these men even want to keep "pulling" a 20 year old. It's so gros…

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your perspective and this community. As much as I dislike so many aspects of reddit, I adore it for these communities that openly discuss why porn is bad, why other issues like "checking out women", etc. are harmful in relationships. I have felt really alone in my perspectives on these issues for a very long time. Have been told it's just my own insecurity and I need to work on my confidence over and over. Thank you for being here and voicing this.

There is usually more than one reason why we make choices. So many of these men may also like the research and are interested in female reproduction, being a pervert could be a part of the motivator. I read an article once where male GYNs could anonymously write in why they went into the profession. Most of them wrote all the right things but many of them (enough to creep me out) also humbly admitted “Part of the reason” was they enjoy seeing women naked, looking at their genitals and fantasized…

I had this same thing happen to me at my college clinic. Went in for a sprained ankle and the young male doctor kept insisting I was due for my pap and he could do it then.

The problem I am having with this entire post and subsequent comments is why is sex the ultimate goal in any situation? Why isn't building the relationship, the connection, sharing, learning from each other, etc. the "goal" and sex is a secondary expression of that. Just having fun and experience flirtation and attraction WITHOUT sex can be valuable. When men view sex as the goal and a transaction based on their "effort" it creates all this craziness. "Getting" sex from a woman should not be a g…

I absolutely believe there are good men who are disgusted by porn. Sure, perhaps the image of a naked woman can stimulate something, but good men will challenge the objectification of women in themselves to the point where this stimulation is dampened and/or they can turn away from it and not be enticed. I definitely do not believe all men are attracted to teens. This is a fairly recent fetish. Of course, there was always pedos and creepers but this was a minority. I believe many men categorize …

If there is any way you can go back to your career part-time after the baby is 6-12 months old, this is the ideal. You can mostly be home and have quality time but also stay relevant in your career. This might be difficult in some jobs as they don't have part-time.
