I’m more for blaming the DNC.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 09:33 PM

There’s a lot of young maga guys who seem to think the girls will have to show them some kind of respect now. lol. Lmao.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 09:32 PM

lol. Been hearing that since the industrial revolution. We’re not going back to the 1950s, but the number of people employed in manufacturing is going to remain pretty stable for the foreseeable future. I’d be much more concerned if I’d gone tens of thousands into debt for some sort of useless STEM degree, or had some kind of make-work email job.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 10:44 AM

That, or Bidens abject failure to sell his policy agenda. I swear some of you are saying “The Democrats cannot fail. They can only be failed”
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 07:09 AM

What does that have to do with anything? I’m talking about the Dems winning back the working class here. The republicans don’t have them. They just didn’t turn out.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 06:47 AM

I’m not saying you’re ever going to convert the MAGA people. You won’t. But the beaten-down people who didn’t turn out? Give them something and they’ll turn out. This is what the DNC is resolutely refusing to do. You can purity-test all you like, but you guarantee victory to your enemies. It’s why the left always fucken loses and I’m sick to the fucken back teeth of it. I’m in a union. If I want bargaining power in my workplace, I need people to join. I can decide to only Marshall the support of…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 06:43 AM

All of them are. No exceptions. It’s all your system allows. That doesn’t mean you get to ignore them till they stop being corrupt. That’s just abandoning the field to the enemy.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 05:27 AM

Dude - you keep saying this; but you can’t hector people into supporting your political positions. You come across a saying that you are a beacon of righteousness, and all who fail to live up to your example are damned. It’s snotty and privileged to tell someone unable to pay rent on a minimum wage job that they’re essentially a rape apologist if they don’t agree with you.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 05:14 AM

Biden won on the back of Covid and promising things he never delivered on. People weren’t excited by Biden, they were mad at Trump. Biden’s approval rating is now sitting below Bush post-Katrina, and Harris did exactly fuck-all to distance herself from him. If Harris promised such wonderful things why did they get exactly *zero cut-through? Why did so many people sit this one out? Why are the youth (including the women) breaking for Trump? I know you want to make this all about sexism or racism …
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 05:08 AM

Dude - you have to win votes. You can’t rely on your opponent being repugnant. It’s why Hillary lost, and it’s why Harris lost. You can’t boogeyman people into voting forever.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 04:54 AM

Cater to them how? I think you can safely ignore the clowns saying that the girls need to sit down and shut up and be nicer to the menz; but you have to offer something. If you’re a downwardly mobile young person with a mountain of debt you’ll never pay off, a job with limited means of advancement, you’re struggling to make rent, and you’re totally alienated from your fellow people by late capitalism - why should you care? The world is full of shit people with power and privilege they don’t dese…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 04:51 AM

That might be true; but can’t only offer “we’re not the other guy” and expect to get the vote out. They got away with it with Biden due largely to Covid. They weren’t going to get away with it again.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 04:22 AM

Trump didn’t pick up any votes. It’s just the people who went to Biden last time gave up.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 04:19 AM

Sure champ. It’s all your own work and you’re a very special and clever boy.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 02:36 AM

No I’m not debating. I’m making fun of you for trying to be Ben Shabibo. Much like people will continue doing.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 02:23 AM

Ad hominem AAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh my God it's 2013 and I'm debating on a forum. Everything old is new again.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 02:09 AM

Don't get me wrong - I think ignoring men was a factor, just not in the way people here are saying. There's people here basically saying that the Dems need to be nicer to the boys. I think that's kinda bullshit. While I think that talking about men's mental health or the loneliness epidemic wouldn't hurt, I'm not sure it's a way to get the vote out. But when you've got a huge number of men disengaged from voting because you're not offering anything that they could see might improve their lives, …
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 02:05 AM

Lol. He thinks people will respect him if Trump's in the white house. I've got some bad news mate.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 01:57 AM

Dude - the Dems haven't given a shit about the working class since the days before Clinton. Clinton introduced NAFTA - which gutted the US manufacturing economy and offshored what decent manufacturing jobs were left after Reagan. Hell - you could convincingly argue that LBJ was the last time you had a pro-worker Democrat in the white house. For all their talk of being "for the working class" they've utterly failed to implement any policies that would actually improve the lot of working people. T…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 01:55 AM

The Dems have pretty much abandoned the working class. The DNC is convinced that by moving to the right, they can peel off more "moderate" GOP voters. But why vote for soy Republicans when the real thing is right there on the shelf?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 01:47 AM

The Dems ate shit for a bunch of reasons. I'm not convinced that "failing to cater to men" was one of them. The Dems were - again - promising to maintain the status quo, during the tenure of a historically unpopular president. Harris presented no breaks with Biden on anything. There's a general sense among Americans that the country is going backwards and everything sucks. People wanted change. If you can't offer anything more than "We're not Trump", you deserve to eat shit. Of course, the DNC w…

Again - there are benefits to being strong and fit other than getting pussy. I go to the gym 3 days a week and run 3 days a week. I’m not doing it to catch some strange - I’ve been with my missus for over 20 years.

Are you being intentionally obtuse? Those things will drastically improve your life even if you never get any pussy.

Jesus fucken Christ. You self-improve because it’ll make your life better Why do some of you dipsticks fail to understand this?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 08:44 PM

Did you miss the part where I said “it’s a figure of speech”? But sure. 3%. I’d tip a lot less than that for swearing off men for very long, but let’s start with that as an ambit claim. What I mean (as I’ve said before - a number of times) is that it won’t be a big enough number for long enough to cause any kind of significant change. If any women have had it with men and want to avoid them, it’s not for me to gainsay. And I don’t even disagree that some have their reasons. But there’s precedent…
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 04:50 AM

It’s a deeply strange world that some of you live in.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 04:39 AM

You’re asking for a percentage as if that’s meaningful and not just not-picking my statement. I mean - I can make some shit up if you like. I’m obliging like that. My point is thus: some women will probably do the 4B thing; but you’re not going to see some kind of Lysistrata any more than I’m going to see the workers seize the means of production. It might gain some overwrought clickbait-y reporting here and there; but if you think you’re going to see a feminist revolt, you stand to be very disa…
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 04:34 AM

I’m not a social researcher mate. I fix airconditioners. Any statistic I give would be meaningless - as would any stat of yours or that of any prognosticator. This isn’t a quantitative statement. Regardless- no one is holding a gun to your head and making you date men. I endorse your single status. Go with God. You’re not any more representative of women at large than MGTOW weirdos are of men. I know you’re entertaining all manner of revenge fantasies, but they’re just not going to be borne out …
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 03:39 AM

That’s a figure of speech dude. Take my answer as “not a big enough percentage to move the needle”. I don’t doubt we’ll see a temporary increase in women avoiding men. Note - temporary. There’s a very human need for companionship and connection. There’s only so long most of us can handwave that away. The genders seem to have been in a constant state of disappointing each other since the time immemorial. I think it’s a little vain to think that this historical moment will be the great turning tha…
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 02:35 AM

If by that you mean the birth rate will continue to decline and the percentage of single-person households will continue to increase - then, yeah. Probably. Will some women choose to take on a 4B-style shift? Also - yeah, probably. What I think is very unlikely is that we’ll see a broad shift amongst single women to avoiding men for ideological reasons in numbers that are much more than a rounding error.

"I don't *actually* care. I'm rich, and I'll throw the other women under the bus if it means I get to laugh at the mens." Nice one guys.

You really seem determined to fumble the bag here dude. I say this with love. I spent years certain that my wife was not telling me what she actually meant. That ended one day when - with tears of frustration in her eyes - she said “why won’t you just believe me!” That hit me like a bucket of cold water in the face. What’s more likely - the husband who promised to esteem you above all others and loves you finds you sexy and wants to please you; or a bunch of perpetual malcontent porn-addicts who…

Getting unfulfilling sex with people you don’t care about is a fucking terrible long-term strategy for a happy life. The vast majority of people want connection - which requires an element of reciprocity. Being a fuckboy is the opposite of that. Talk to most functional guys who’ve had any kind of a hoe phase, and they’ll tell you that it got old pretty quickly.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/24 01:49 AM

Clearly a decent amount are, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to fuk around as much as they do. Oh for sure. But a lot of women have finely-tuned enough bullshit detectors to pass on most fuckboys. The overwhelming majority of women who get taken in by fuckboys learn their lesson pretty quickly and don’t go back to that well. The ones that do have bigger problems. And most guys just can’t muster up that ability to be wilfully dismissive of other’s feelings. Cool, but what does that have to with m…

K? What makes a fuckboy? Good looks, being socially adept and casual disregard for the feelings of others? Most chicks aren’t that into fuckboys. Any reasonably mentally healthy woman won’t tolerate much shitty behaviour. And most guys just can’t muster up that ability to be wilfully dismissive of other’s feelings.

Buy some clothes that fit and get a haircut. If you really want to stand out, develop an interest in fashion and a personal style. Most dudes dress like sacks of shit. It is very easy to dress well. No plastic surgery required.

Problem is, a lot of terps aren’t interested in improving things for men; they just want women knocked down a peg. The guys who help men just go ahead and do it.

Dude - it’s not fucking mind-reading to see that your girl is upset, or having some kind of empathy for others. Are you one of those guys who says they’re “brutally honest” like it’s a good thing?

Spot on dude. So many guys are on here skipping half-a-dozen steps when approaching women. Just have a nice little chat. If you’re feeling the vibe, gently ratchet up the flirting. Dudes gotta calm down.

Lotta “what if” going on here as justification for cutting up baby’s’ dicks mate. If it’s an actual issue later in life, fine. But at the moment you’re arguing for invasive surgery because something might go wrong later. How’s about we do tonsils, gall bladders and appendixes as well. They might cause problems later too. Just remember not to use any anaesthetic.

Nah. We’re taking shots at the dudes here. There’s an intensely naive view from the dudes who demand “modest women” that somehow they’ll be shy anime virgins until they meet you; then suddenly turn into cock-hungry fuck-monsters for your dick. lol no.

Media doesn’t need to be good to be relevant. People still froth over Dickens - talking about how it captures something of the human spirit, and is timeless blah blah blah. I think it’s basically 19th century soap opera.

Sex and the City isn’t supposed to be cinema verite. They’re cyphers for womens’ experiences. Women might not be “lovestruck, starry eyed teenagers nor horny cougars on the prowl”, but they might act that way on occasion. It’s the craft of storytelling, innit. And those stories obviously had some kind of cultural valence, because we’re still talking about the show over 25 years after it premiered.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/24 01:33 AM
7

Nah. Women in their mid 20s to early 30s. You gotta remember that it premiered back in the late 90s, and there being significant numbers of single women in that demographic was a pretty new phenomenon. Those women aged along with the show. Women who are now in middle age.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/24 09:14 PM
15

Nah man - the original book was written by a woman and the writers room was mostly women. They brought in Greg Behrendt (the Hes Just Not That Into You guy) as the token straight man. You’re right though - it’s a show pretty explicitly for women. I dont get why some dudes get frothing mad about it 25 years later.

On the apps, I’m not sure it does. Indiscriminate swiping - few matches - drop down the algorithm. Careful swiping - still few matches… Unless you’re an unusually good-looking guy, the apps are going to be a pretty soul-crushing grind. I agree that men - on the whole - make absolutely dogshit OLD profiles, but it’s still survival of the hottest out there on Tinder.

Bro had better be real patient if that’s the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/24 08:03 PM

There’s a tendency for people to deride any media where they’re not the target audience. Sex and the City was an interesting cultural phenomenon, because it was probably the first really successful show unabashedly conceived for and aimed at young women. I think some guys are just suspicious of any media that women are really enthusiastic about that they just don’t “get”. They feel like they’re being purposefully excluded.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/24 08:01 PM

Oh - 100%. And that’s exactly the advice I’d give to guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 07:23 AM
6

I don’t want women to do anything. This is advice for the boys. And at its core, it’s advice on the need to accept “failure” with grace. The biggest problem with the terp PUA shit is that it presumes to tell men that women are a problem to be solved; rather than people with their own desires, motives and lives. They will say rejection occurs because you failed to implement “the system”, rather than because of things completely out of your hands.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 05:04 AM
6

And I don’t condone that kind of behaviour. It’s real bad. I tell guys to approach women in full knowledge that the overwhelming majority of these approaches will end with nothing happening, and that they need to be okay with that.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 04:57 AM

I think a lot of us get that. If we're paying attention, we get that just cold-approaching you in the street is probably a no-no, never to bother you when you're wearing headphones, hassling you in the grocer is bad form, talking to you in the gym is off-limits, etc. But a lot of guys - particularly guys who aren't super-well socially conditioned - look at the laundry list of places and think "I don't know where that leaves." I know it's not for women to be responsible for these mens' happiness;…

This was the point I was trying to make before I got distracted by hangover talk. You might find certain qualities attractive in a mate in the abstract because they’re fun and exciting; but in the cold, hard light of a relationship, they’re a terrible idea. I’ll use myself as an example. While I was younger, I had a real thing for aloof, cool, artsy women. My love life was a fucking disaster. What I needed was an enthusiastic, heart-on-sleeve girl who’s a massive dork. Thankfully I found her and…

I dunno dude. When all you've got to work from is looks, and most guys find most women attractive, it stands to reason that most guys will swipe right on most women. Given most guys miserable strike rate, there's no point investing too much time in carefully going through profiles before swiping right. It makes far more sense to bang out your daily swipes quickly and get on with your day - and then investing time in the matches that actually happen.

Woe is us! Oh gynocracy cruel! When shall we see our wholesome days again? It’s the woman who says blue pilled stuff but is red pilled in reality. No, it’s the people without end-stage internet brainworms who are saying blue-pilled stuff.

Dude - the reason it’s championed by the left is for reasons of bodily autonomy. If the forced-birth people really had the courage of their convictions, they’d enforce mandatory vasectomy and sperm-freezing on all men. Dude - Marxism is just a critique of capitalist modes of production. It’s failure in Eastern Europe after 50+ years of economic warfare, and it’s embrace by some very annoying people online doesn’t make it wrong any more than inevitable plutocracy, assorted colonial genocides, planned famines and enforced poverty make capitalism wrong. Wanting a more equitable distribution of production isn’t wrong-headed. It’s a profoundly human desire.

SMV/RMV is a shorthand way of referring to compatibility. In an oblique sense, maybe. If you insist on analysing everything as a market because your brain has been broken by late capitalism. How “SMV/RMV” is most commonly used is as a way of squaring the circle of “modern women” failing to play the mating game as terps consider it ought to be played.

Sure are a lot of wild assumptions about how easy getting a boyfriend or girlfriend is. Try asking any single woman how easy finding a boyfriend is sometime. Whether people forgive and move past a cheating partner is context-dependent. Are they a couple that’s been together for an extended period, and she made a single bad mistake - maybe? There’s too much to consider here. Did she have a long term affair with a work colleague? Fuck no. That bitch for the street.

I dunno. I feel like economically we've more or less foreclosed on the idea of either parent being able to take really significant periods of time off all paid work for parenting. It's just not a reality for most people - at least in my country (Australia). Best most people can manage is a year or two total each - and that's pushing it. I dunno man. I worked hospitality back in the day. It was usually women working the floor. They would inevitably be asked “what do you really want to do?" Fine if she was a student working her way through uni. Pretty condescending if she was a hospo professional. Strangely, my underpaid arse on the grill never got the same questions. We can talk about outmoded expectations on men to be breadwinners; or the only metric of a job’s value being measured in money - but that’s a different discussion.

I…what..? Dude - I was agreeing with you. There’s a lot of dads out there receiving effusive praise for doing the bare minimum. I’m saying that there’s a lot of those dads who think that attitude is incredibly cringe and wish people would stop. Like - if someone says they’re “babysitting” the kids, you see their faces drop. None of this takes away from acknowledging the thankless shit mums do everyday and get zero recognition for.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/24 04:58 AM
15

No - but why is that the standard. I know a lot of dads who took extended periods (6-24 months) away from work when their kids were little. I know quite a few dads with higher-earning wives/partners who are the primary caregivers. These aren’t dudes looking for a cookie. They find praise for basic parenting either embarrassing or condescending.

The rules are the same. The context is different. That’s why it’s context dude. We praise a single mum from a poor background for taking care of her kids well - cos that shit’s hard in her context. I find young dudes are better at performatively self-flagellating, spiralling and sulking for their failings more than the girls; if that’s what you mean. I have friends in their 20s. I have friends in their 50s. But what makes a good friend doesn’t necessarily make a good partner. Ideally, there’s a level of intimacy there that you don’t get anywhere else. It’s not really paternity leave. It’s unpaid (or taken a long service leave) for a start. Some of the boys quit their jobs if they were taking a year or more off. Regardless, taking time away from work for child rearing is a privilege. There’s very few women who can afford to take periods greater than six months off for maternity leave. Most can’t afford to take any time off at all. A year off is about as close to being a full time SAHM/D as most people get.

Nah. Tate's message isn't "try hard". It's "The only way to have any self-respect is to demean others". It's a fucken miserable way to live. As for womens' life advice? Dump a bunch of people on a desert island with no cops or tech, and they'll tend to co-operate. This is borne out in real-life examples of strandings and emergencies. Co-operation tends to lead to the best outcomes. We're not two seconds away from The Purge at all times.

Is it the ones who are choking their girlfriends during sex without consent? Is it the ones making deepfake porn of their female peers? Because I hope they're deeply ashamed of their sexuality. They could do with a hefty dose of shame and self-disgust. I honestly think that's part of the same complex that leads a lot of young guys to be totally unable to approach women. These guys are so utterly alienated from a sexuality that's in any way authentic or connected to their actual desires, that the…

There's a very real possibility that you're going to make a woman momentarily uncomfortable if you talk to her and she's not down to clown. That's okay. We don't get to go through life frictionlessly moving by one another. I’m inclined to think that the greater part of “human nature” is our inclination to form societies. The reductive view of human nature is that we’re greedy, grasping, selfish and amoral. I think that’s extremely myopic. If it were true, we’d be bad at forming stable societies. We seem to be geared towards living in groups and getting along with each other pretty well on the whole. IMO, hyper individualism is an aberration

As I alluded to - dopamine and oxytocin are specific chemicals with very non-specific functions. They are associated with the emotions and behaviours you’ve described; but that doesn’t in any way mean they’re causal. You’ve read some pop science bullhonky about the magical powers of two common hormones, poorly understood it, come up with a frankly baffling argument, and now you’re getting butthurt when people (with some modicum of scientific knowledge) tell you that it’s just not how hormones wo…

And my point is that endocrinology is a fuckload more complicated than oxytocin=bonding. If it were that simple we’d just give people hormone therapy to fix relationship issues. Hormones are extremely blunt instruments that perform many different functions. You can’t map them to emotions. Stop.

Can you give some examples of these things that were ok in the 1960’s. I am begging you to read one book; but off the top of my head: Marital rape, marriage bars to employment, no legislation of equal wages, no right for women to own property without male approval, no Title IX, no employment protections from sexual harassment or retaliation, no common law protection of abortion rights (cough). That list isnt even remotely exhaustive; and these are rights that have been won since.

Why not? I’m a man. I like men. Some of my best friends are men. I’m also inclined to believe that if you go looking for reasons to believe men are dogs, you’re going to find them; for the exact same reason that dudes looking for evidence that women are gold-digging whores will too.

Where are these women just blindly accepting the fact that they’re only desired for sex? Men might be aware of the fact that part of our desirability is tied up in our wealth - and hell, we can even use that to our advantage in dating - but we don’t need to be thrilled about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 08:32 PM

Or you could go to the pub that plays music you like and just talk to some people without making a big deal of it. A lot of dudes struggle because they get waaay too invested in the outcome of approaching a woman. You get better at talking to girls by talking to girls. You can just have a low-stakes chat without being all sweaty about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 12:11 PM

“She must like rings”.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 03:05 AM

You can say this to an individual. When the problem is on a societal scale, it shows societal failure. Well, yeah. But I don’t feel like most guys are wandering around crippled by dick anxiety. It’s just an ambient feature of mens’ general insecurity and affects us all to some extent; though I’d hardly call it a “societal failure”. Better sex education would already do a lot, and public sensibilisation to body image problems for both guys and girls would do even more. I think we’re in agreement …
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 12:04 PM

And I'm saying that dick insecurity is mostly a product of your mind. If you go looking for reasons to be insecure, you'll undoubtedly find them - particularly in an age of social media, ragebait and endless porn. At a certain point, it's on you to get past your insecurities, not for the rest of the world to tiptoe around them.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 11:26 AM

the morally bankrupt ones don't hesitate to use guys' tendency to complex on the subject against them How so, and to what end? If you're referring to the occasional dickhead on TikTok doing rage bait - ignore it and stop feeding the trolls. If the girls wanna do the corollary of incel roastie memes, feel free to laugh at them and their sour grapes. If you're referring to an ex slandering your shitty bedroom game, that isn't anything even remotely new.

Yeah - dudes should think twice before just marching up to a chick and trying to spit game. But saying hi to a girl at the bar, or who you see on campus, or somewhere public - why not say hello? You’re just trying to have a low-stakes human interaction - not get into her pants. The print guys make with approaching women is getting too het up about the outcome. If you start talking and it gets a little flirty, then ask for her number. This is basic social calibration. You learn through experience…

A lot of men (particularly on this sub) bought the breathless whining that saying hi to a cute girl would get you bundled into the back of an unmarked van by the feminazi Stasi. Dude - this is a story I keep hearing; but it’s just not the truth across the board. It’s absolutely true for some women - they uphold patriarchal norms as much as men; but talk to guys in relationships, and they’ll admit that their biggest source of emotional succour is their partner. That becomes a problem when she’s the only source. She ends up carrying two loads. It’s also a problem when guys are so starved of emotional outlets, that they vomit their unprocessed emotions on a new partner bef…

They never had big problems dating. They are - to a woman - funny, empathetic, considerate and an all-round blast to hang out with. The “boss babes” I’ve met are inevitably painfully insecure, monomaniacal weirdoes who can’t step outside their work persona.

There’s the thing - beyond the obvious (kids, dogs, etc) - I just don’t think the pre-filtering stuff works. Reviews are a horrible idea. Guys who are generally nice and respectful, but not your type won’t get a review. Guys who actually check your boxes and you start a relationship (short or long) won’t get a review. Guys who get nervous and say or do something weird will get branded with the “creepy” scarlet letter - even if they’re otherwise pretty normal guys. Genuinely bad dudes will have an absolute ball with libel laws. No. Fucks sake no.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 09:08 PM

You’re supposed to have deal-breakers. That’s being practical. But can you really compartmentalise your feelings until you’ve checked every box on your list? And how do you assess that list? You might as well have people fill out a questionnaire before they’re allowed to see your Hinge profile. The search for love is filled with disappointment, hurt and humiliation. We don’t get to turn ourselves into Teflon-coated individuals sliding frictionlessly past one another.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 08:56 PM

Not at all. But trying to logic yourself through a realm where feelings rule the day seems kinda sad to me. I’m not saying don’t have your guard up a bit - but love is a risk.

I’m Australian. Obviously there are cultural differences; but we’re not a billion miles apart vis-a-vis dating. If surveys are anything to go by, we’re having slightly more casual sex than Americans. This doesn’t seem to be a huge problem. And as I’ve said before on this sub - if anyone could come up with a workable definition of what the fuck constitutes “simping”, we could discuss it.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 12:14 AM

I live in a country with legal prostitution. It hasn’t “balanced” the dating market (whatever the fuck that means). People are still lonely and frustrated and seeking genuine connection. Almost as if sex isn’t what we’re actually seeking.

Okay. Sure. Dudes should have a little self respect. But I got told that taking a woman on a date you put any kind of thought into was simping on this very sub. It seems like some guys think that all interactions with women have to be governed by a double entry ledger with painfully short terms. Sometimes you gotta put yourself out there a bit. Sure, it can be kinda humiliating when it doesn’t pay off, but that’s the game we’re playing.

Dude - a simple drink is pretty much all I’m talking about. You can extend it to food if the date is going well. There’s no need to push the boat out on a first date; but you’ll have a better strike rate if you can convince the girl you’re at least slightly excited to be there.

I literally invented a scenario as an illustration of the sort of thing you’d find on a woman’s dating profile. But fine. Sushi, tacos or pizza. You can turn that prompt into a dog and pony show if you want to trip over your own dick - or you can just be normal about it. Presumably you’ve had some kind of text chat on the app. As a guy - are you really going on so many dates that you don’t have the energy to put a tiny bit of thought into a date? If you are, I’d suggest you can afford to be a little fussier in who you’re going on dates with. Like - she made some kind of reference to almond croissants in her profile. You say “hey - I know a great bakery down by the river. Wanna get an almond croissant and go for a walk?” It’s low-stakes and she feels seen. Easy. …

Yeah; but chicks want to feel a bit special on a date. That’s doesn’t mean the dude has to go completely nuts; but she’d at least like to feel like he’s interested in her rather than some interchangeable woman-unit. It’s seriously not that hard to do.

I think the beef with coffee dates is that they’re seen as low-effort and unimaginative. I know women who like them for the reasons you suggested - they’re low pressure and a good way to get a first impression of a guy in the flesh. But I’ve got a friend who fucking hates them. She says it feels like a business meeting. Notably - no-one wants a big fancy dinner date as a first date. Far too-high stakes and long. There are women on TikTok demanding fancy dinners as first dates - but they’re no mo…

Dude - you’re not the only greybeard here. Life is significantly better with friends you can share your feelings with and a partner you want to be good to and who is good to you. You’re selling Divorced Dad as a desirable lifestyle. Every guy I know who buys into this manly man stuff is a miserable wreck of a human. If it genuinely works for you, go with God. But I’ve seen very little evidence of it doing anything but leaving a trail of misery and dead blokes our age.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 05:59 AM

It feels weirdly definitive to say “never”. In person, it might be a different story - I don’t know. The idea of changing her personality to some kind of ideal doesn’t make sense, because I don’t believe such a thing exists; and even if it did - would I even know what it was?

Insofar as “alpha” guys even exist (and I’m taking a broad interpretation meaning guys who command the respect of their peers and are natural leaders); they want actual deep connection as much as anyone. Your “alpha-ness” has nothing to do with your need for attachment. If anything being “alpha” requires the self-assuredness born of a stable and healthy upbringing. That lends itself to a secure attachment style. Guys who sleep around a lot tend to be avoidant.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/24 02:04 AM

To be clear - men should absolutely practice vulnerability with their romantic partners. I don’t buy for a second that the second a woman hears a man express an emotion her vagina audibly slams shut. It’s just something that needs to be introduced slowly and practiced mindfully. There’s an equal tendency for some guys out there to just vomit every unprocessed emotion they have onto their partner, and then look confused when the poor woman recoils in panic.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/24 02:01 AM
4

Oh exactly - but I think there’s an increasing tendency to view vulnerability as a switch in mens’ brains that we flick to “on” when we’re serious about a relationship; when that’s not how this works at all. Like the old curmudgeon I am, I blame social media.

I dunno. A bit more seems to work fine. Me, and a lot of my mates have higher earnings spouses - usually somewhere from 20-80% more. This doesn’t seem to cause any friction. But when the woman earns a lot more - particularly from the start of a relationship - it’s a little different. I know couples where the guy earns blue-collar money, and the gal is far more successful. It seems to really grate when the gal is left with no choice but to pick up the tab whenever they do something nice. I’ve see…

I’m a big proponent of vulnerability in relationships; but I think the vast majority of women drastically overestimate their emotional intelligence - particularly where men are concerned. Your average woman is not fucking ready for the men in their lives to hit them with actual vulnerability; and tends to react in the exact same way a dude does when faced with a crying woman - fight, flight, freeze or fawn.

“Vulnerability” as commonly constituted is podcast language. It’s supposed to be the sine qua non of good relationships; but actual vulnerability is something that takes many years to develop with one another. It’s not something that’s just switched on. You need to ask her - honestly and kindly - what she means by “vulnerability”. You’re not interrogating her - you’re being genuinely curious. Tell her - as your opening effort in being vulnerable - that you’re worried that being vulnerable will m…

I've heard similarly water-headed shit spouted by chicks for decades - along the lines of "If these hoes didn't go round just giving it up willy-nilly, men would be forced to wife us up and treat us nice". Lol. Lmao. And half you oblivious clowns wouldn't know if a chick was wearing makeup or not most of the time. Looking "natural" is a fucken art.

It's certainly not a good reflection on her self-esteem. Like - I'll cheerfully pump up your tyres, but I'm not your therapist. If she said "I went through a period where dudes didn't treat me great, so I worked on myself" that's a different matter.

Dude - the girls can date whoever they want. If it's unrealistic, they'll work it out. Just let them be adults and don't concern-troll them for not dating who you want them to date.

Look - I just find this woo-woo shit hysterical. I showed it to my wife. Her response was “what’s this ditzy bitch on about?” Being conversant in woo shit is great if you’re into woo chicks; but I’m not. I don’t wanna have faux-deep conversations about “energy”. I wanna have fun.

I find women very occasionally want casual sex; and when they do, don’t have a particularly hard time finding it. But most casual sex is pretty shit - doubly so for women. Plus it’s risky. Why bother.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/24 03:27 AM

OMFG. Yes women tend to be attracted to good-looking, rich, high-status, socially adroit men. If you think we’re arguing against that, you’re making shit up in your head. But assuming it’s true - what do you do with that information? The current terp boilerplate seems to be that women are only attracted to the top 20% (or 10 or 5 or whatever) of men. Blackpillers will say if you’re not in that cohort, it’s game over. Redpillers will say you need to trick women into thinking you’re one or more of…

Why is everyone here so shocked by the idea that people find hot people hot. It doesn’t make them a good partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 09:44 PM

Terp shit is just self help + misogyny. If you throw away the misogyny, I don’t have a problem. The self help will help you develop a little self confidence, some self-esteem, and a richer life. Working on yourself is working on your love life. You can build yourself up without developing deranged conspiracy theories about women. They’re just people.

Why would I want to be promiscuous outside my marriage? There aren’t exactly a troupe of impatient lingerie models standing around outside my marriage waiting for it to open up. Any woman I could pull outside my marriage is going to be a serious disappointment. In the words of Frank Sinatra - “why go out for hamburger when there’s steak at home”.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 11:52 PM

Dude - you’ve written hundreds of words of gibberish based on shit out of your head or vomited up by ChatGPT and you want it taken seriously. It’s like flat earthers demanding to be heard at a geology conference.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 05:26 AM
7

Mate - you’re posting waffle from ChatGPT. Why would anyone read this gibberish.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:56 AM

Unclear why any of the stuff you mentioned makes you “low value” as a 39 year old - particularly one who wants to stay single. Given what you’ve put in your post, dating should be shooting fish in a barrel. You should pretty much have your pick of available men. If you were 39, broke, overweight, plain, chronically ill, with kids and an absent baby daddy; then you’d struggle to find any suitable guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:26 AM
18

You guys really struggle with brevity.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:11 AM

I think you can take it as read that a “respectful approach” isn’t going to involve getting all up in your grille right from the get-go; so I took a generous reading.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 01:14 AM
7

I dunno. Sitting at the other end of a park bench doesn’t really feel like “getting in a random person’s space” to me. It’s hella easy to start a casual conversation with a stranger without being a sweaty creep about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 12:27 AM

I dunno man - I’ve got single women friends who really struggle to find anyone worthwhile. And when I say “worthwhile”, the bar is not that high. These are all cute, fun chicks with their shit together looking for average dudes (I’ve seen the men they date - it’s not a shower of Chads). Flaky dudes who can’t plan a date. Dudes who get sexual straight away. Dudes who are just fucken weird. They could probably land a relationship quickly with someone who made them miserable; but why?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 12:24 AM
0

Dude - you’re not a slave. This is the kind of hysteria that makes terp shit so hard to take seriously. Say you were getting dates; but they’re disappointing affairs - foodie calls, no-shows or just very annoying. Is your life any better? You’re talking about materialism without grasping the material realities.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 12:04 AM
2

Terrible comparison. It all redounds to the same end - I want a partner, but I can’t find one. You could equally argue that dudes who aren’t getting dates have it better because they’re not riding the roller coaster of hope and disappointment. I mean - it’d be a dumb argument, but all of them are. All of this “men/women have it worse” is people looking to feel victimised. What do you do with the certain knowledge that dating is harder for you?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 11:53 PM
0

Arguing over who has it harder is dumb as hell. Our challenges are our own and relative. Even if you could prove dating is harder for men - what does that mean? What should be done? Or are you just looking for excuses to play the victim?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 10:27 PM

K. What’s this got to do with dating?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 10:22 PM
2

Dude - getting a first date if you’re a cute 27yo chick (like the one in the post you mentioned) is like shooting fish in a barrel. None of the bluepillers are arguing against that. This is the typical straw-manning bullshit terps engage in. The chicks aren’t saying “I can’t ever get a date”. What they are saying the problem is is finding a guy to actually take dating you seriously, not be wishy-washy, make plans and stick to them, and not immediately try to get in your pants. Men and women (by …

What they will say is that having a high status job won’t make up for you being a fuckwit. Well - not for long, anyway. On the dude side - my missus is a lawyer. I’m proud of her.

Mate - I volunteer in men’s mental health support in the construction industry. I’m not a therapist or counsellor - more of a mental health first aider. Lemme tell you - men decidedly do not know what their actual problems are. I’ve seen a lot of blokes go through it. They damn near destroy themselves before someone like me finally manages to get them to see a counsellor or therapist. And that’s in an industry where those services are free and readily available. Having a professional interrogate why you’ve become convinced that the Radfem Stasi are lurking around every corner ready to drag you off to the Gulag for Man Crime if you talk to a girl would make your lives measurably better. If a therapist could help you to stop catastrophising every interaction and to not turn every rejection into your personal 9/11, it’d probably help too.

Redpill was only ever about support insofar as it involved manipulating women. Wonder why they’d take exception to that. If redpill was actually what it thought it was, chicks would love it. I prefer the men’s support where I help guys dealing with anxiety and depression, substance issues, financial problems, loneliness, family breakdown and suicidal ideation. The obvious weenieness of this post aside - babies, mostly. They’d like a little extra assurance you’re going to hang around to bring up your sprog. But never discount the romance of a nice wedding. Who doesn’t love a big fancy party where you’re the centre of attention?

You have a painfully black-and-white view of the male emotional experience. It’s not that I mean all-female spaces are more positive while all-male spaces are more toxic, but that women are socialized to form tight-knit emotional support groups (even if that sometimes means unfairly excluding others they don’t see as part of the in-group, and becoming cliquey) while men are socialized to be more individualistic in how they involve themselves with each other. As opposed to being more openly “symb…

Masculine guys are more the Don Draper type of pseudo nihilist “yeah, those people over there are assholes, but we’re all assholes anyway” types. Not really - they're mostly kinda enthusiastic and cheerful. They're pretty unaffected dudes - they're just authentic. There's no artifice to their masculinity - it just is. I agree that Bill Burr is pretty close to what I mean, though I'd hesitate to call him apolitical - just not party political.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/24 09:59 AM

I'm Australian. Don't much care about your weird seppo shit.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/24 08:45 AM

I'm assuming that you're referring to the "masculine" markers that the Guns 'n Jeebus crowd are into, which is artifice. All the dudes driving big trucks, weirdly enthusiastic about guns and loud about wanting a "submissive" woman. They make me laugh. It's so painfully fucking obvious that they're overcompensating. The genuinely masculine guys I know are largely apolitical. If they have any kind of ideology, it's "live and let live". They might not understand trans people, but they're not freaki…

I usually just think they are being nice and realize they were flirting days later. I think that’s the human condition.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/24 06:30 AM

To be fair, there’s a crossover. My favourite recent example in my city was when the local neo-Nazis decided they were going to disrupt a fundraiser for trans youth; thinking they’d get to pick on a room full of blue-haired tenderqueers. What they got was the Melbourne chapter of SHARP (SkinHeads Against Racial Prejudice). Cue hilarious video of panicking Nazi dorks fleeing down the street and hiding in bins 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/24 06:26 AM

It can be both. This isn’t a binary or a zero sum game. You don’t have to be weird or make major rationalisations about it. I like to wear nice clothes when I go out. Back when I was single it made me feel good and put me in the mood to socialise. Did I do it for me? Yes. Did I do it because I’d look better for the girls I would awkwardly hit on. Also yes.

The context is obviously different; but the core remains. People - despite how much Match group would like to monetise all dating - still manage to meet strangers and start relationships. It’s rarer, sure; but it absolutely still happens. How much whining do we hear online from women about how awful online dating is, and longing for a meet-cute with a nice man? While there’s a percentage of chicks who have listened to way too much true crime and shake like whippets if a guy at the bus stop asks …

I’m mid 40s. The dudes asking “why do women” seem to me to be pretty young and still figuring shit out. There’s not many 40+ redpill guys (and they’re all divorced dads angry at their ex wives). At a certain point, the weight of evidence that women are individual people and not mysterious, sexy robots stacks up so much they have to start being normal.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/24 05:22 AM

How is it that people here keep managing to make at least semi-accurate observations of people’s behaviour, then draw the most moonbat possible conclusions from it? Women tend not to like inflexible, stick-in-the-mud guys. A little spontaneity and excitement is fun. But unless they’re very inexperienced or there’s some childhood shit that they need therapy for, they don’t like “confusion”.

Y…yes? Women aren’t NPCs with a quest bubble hanging over their heads mate. You can tell a fair bit about people’s attitude from their body language; but you don’t really know if they wanna chat till you go talk to them. If they look like they’d rather be somewhere else, you dip. This isn’t fucken rocket surgery.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/24 10:12 PM

This is so painfully defeatist. I know women in their early 20s. They’d be fucking overjoyed if a cute boy came up and talked to them at the pub. No everyone is a self-diagnosed autist with a Reddit addiction.

Because I like to talk to random people at pubs and gigs. Some of them are women. The first part of any cold approach is just going up and saying hi. If you get a vibe they’d rather not talk, you just excuse yourself and walk away. Nbd. If you get a good vibe, you have a chat. Obviously, I stop at chatting; but you can pretty easily ratchet up the flirting if you want to.

If dating was this Big Rock Candy Mountain of male supplicants that this dingbat seems to think it is why are women so pessimistic about dating? I agree that it’s not just a matter of maternity leave provision; but the US really seems to go out of its way to make life difficult for new parents. A lot of lip service gets paid to the importance of birthing and raising kids; but people get real fucken quiet when we suggest ways to actually facilitate that - beyond forcing women to give birth, anyways.

I’m assuming that you’re referring to dating app stats here. Swipes on dating apps don’t really equate to attention. So many of the single girls I know seem to get matches, but almost none of them result in dates. It’s mostly low-effort text conversations followed by a Hail Mary attempt to get them to come over for a hookup. I mean - strictly speaking, that’s attention I guess; but it’s pretty thin gruel. The only bright side of being ignored is that you aren’t wasting time being a pen pal.

The "bad dick" comment is a glib way of saying that - on average - women get a lot more matches than men; but most of these don't amount to much more than creepy comments, low-effort texts or other disappointment. The "bar is in hell" thing is more a matter of recognising that the golden boys who have a lot of options realise that they don't have to make much effort. The second you stop tolerating their low-effort bullshit, they can move on to another woman who will. But if you're a regular guy …

Autistic men should stop building their identity around being autistic. We just called those guys and gals weird nerds back in the day. I'm not arguing against the existence of drives - they're there alright; nor am I arguing against a preference for outward signs of health being generally attractive. Let’s not even get into “consumption chic” from the 19th century. Christ you evo-psych people love to think up a just so story and utterly refuse to deviate from it in the face of all evidence to the contrary.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 07:48 AM

You MFs really think we’re all walking around with Terminator Vision for “superior genetics”, dontcha. We need to round up evolutionary psychologists and have some sort of Nuremberg trial for what they’ve done to the discourse.

Making the bold assumption that every gal wants to be in a poly relationship with a rich guy. Those gals are out there, but they’re a weird minority.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 03:17 AM

I’m not sure you understand what a zero-sum game is, my dude.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 03:15 AM

Seems fair to me. Though - what’s with the noisy wanking?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 03:13 AM

And this, folks, is what we call confirmation bias…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 03:12 AM

Primates don’t pair bond (well - gibbons kinda sorta not really). You terps sure do love an appeal to nature. You’ll just dip into your bag of half-remembered animal behaviours for whatever’s convenient in supporting your evo-psych just-so story justifications of why your cultish bullshit is the correct way of explaining the world while sniffing your own farts.

Which way, western man? Do you give up on women, or stomp around like a toddler wailing “ITS NOT FAAAAAAIIIIR!!!”
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 08:57 PM
3

Best case scenario. Regardless - the shit is still expensive, in limited supply and we’re not clear on the longer term effects. I am skeptical about it turning every woman into a lingerie model, regardless of whatever convenient fantasies are being entertained by OP.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 08:42 PM
1

As I said - it ain’t nothing. But going from 300lbs to 270lbs still means you’re obese. Also - it’s too early to tell if people will just rebound to their old weight the second they go off the stuff. Given that it’s an appetite suppressant, the odds are good.

Average gals certainly got more options on dating apps; but most of them aren’t good. That’s more a fault of dating app culture than the dudes themselves, imo.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 07:34 PM
3

And I didn’t voluntarily decide to not have my every desire fulfilled by a harem of lingerie models, dude. But here I am.

Ozempic leads to an average body weight loss of around 10% total body weight, 15% in the best case scenario. While this is nothing to sniff at, it’s not the panacea that’s gonna make us all thin and hot. Sorry bro.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 11:30 AM

And I am begging you to ask an average single gal how she feels about her dating life.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 11:08 AM

Oh the horror of women being attracted to attractive men! No - you’re missing the point. Most average chicks know - or work out pretty quickly - that the dude who’s tall, good-looking, rich and has lotsa girls after him probably isn’t a good relationship prospect. Now, if she just wants to bang someone, she might go there - but a hell of a lot of women just aren’t interested in ONSs or situationships; or get over them pretty quick. The overwhelming majority of women have a lifetime bodycount bar…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 07:40 AM
13

Yeah - the would go for a 6,6,6 guy if he was a good partner. If I woke up tomorrow and my missus suddenly looked like a supermodel, I can’t say I’d complain; but I’m not about to leave my missus for any hot chick who shows interest.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 06:29 AM

So you’re saying conventionally attractive men tend to be considered attractive. You terps sure do have everything figured out 🤦‍♂️
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 05:23 AM

Yep. Tant pis, man. Whatcha gonna do about it? Stomp around like a toddler wailing that “It’s not faaaaaaaaiiiiir!!!”
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 05:18 AM

Again…can I point out the skinny dudes with girlfriends… It’s like you guys are saying “I’m not getting laid, therefore no-one’s getting laid”.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 04:08 AM
17

Oh…so it’s not just physical then…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 03:36 AM

If tall, tattooed and muscular was the sine qua non of attraction, I would have got a lot more dates back when I was single, chief.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 03:31 AM

Awful lotta weird, scrawny dudes with noodle arms and no tatts got girlfriends who show every sign of being attracted to them out there.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 03:22 AM
24

Dude - most Western women aren’t that big on the whole 6,6,6 thing either. That seems to be a dumb meme started by brain worm-addled TikTokkers; that the blackpill dipshits used as a reason why they’d never get laid.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 03:10 AM
17

Sex can be great, and we want to have it with women we’re attracted to. Sex is a pretty reliable indicator that the gal is attracted to us. But your dude whining for sex? GTFO. I swear some guys go out of their way to avoid getting laid.

It’s because you clowns think that this is a fucking RPG. You don’t grind XP till ding. Going to the gym will improve your odds - not just because you’ll look better, but you’ll feel better and have the self-confidence that goes with doing something hard consistently. Being financially stable will improve your odds because not only will your life likely be better organised, you’ll likely have developed people skills in your career and a network of contacts; not to mention you’ll probably be bett…

I am begging you to go outside.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 01:32 AM

It’s not that we don’t care about your career. It’s that we make the (frequently correct) assumption that a woman who’s very successful in her career is going to want a guy with a similar or greater level of success. I say this as a fella with a far more successful-in-her-career wife.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 01:31 AM
2

Dude - dating has always been frustrating, tedious and often humiliating. The difference now is that thanks to dating apps, options for new dates come up more frequently. To me, it sounds like you're having a pretty run-of-the mill experience - and it sucks ass. Keep your chin up, my man. Trite as it might be, this is a matter of patience.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/24 10:53 AM

Pretty much, yeah. Listen to your gut. If a dude is skeeving you out, that’s the deeper processes of your mind keeping you safe. You don’t owe any guy your presence.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/24 03:26 AM

Either this is creative writing or you live in Mogadishu.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/24 03:09 AM

Did you read my comments dude, or just skip ahead to getting mad? I’m not a big fan of the whole “why do men/women” thing - generalising kinda sucks; but it’s not evidence of some grand conspiracy against men (or you, specifically). Try re-reading the second post. She’s not freaked out by this guy because he’s horny - she’s freaking out because he wont leave her the fuck alone after she said she’s not interested. As for the third - I see dudes I know slutting it about and no one bats an eyelid. …
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/24 03:01 AM
3

I dunno man - I get validation and compliments all the time; but it’s always for stuff I do, rather than anything I am. I get told I’m great at my job, or that I’m really kind for helping out somewhere, or that I’m generous for helping out friends who are struggling, or that I’m really determined for running ultras. Men just get different compliments. They’re the sort of compliments that women want, but don’t get as much. We just dont get a lot of physical compliments. I mean, I remember the day…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/24 02:54 AM

The examples you’ve cited don’t really back up your argument. The first has a lot of comments that go deeper into the topic. The second is nothing to do with being dumb and horny - it’s all about a dude who won’t take no for an answer. The third is just about being out of an LTR and wanting a bit of a hoe phase. I was talking with a mate about his post breakup hoe phase yesterday. The only thing I chastised him for was not tarping up. Literally no one who’s taken seriously is telling men they’re…

You’re not being irrational. Men can be scary. Most guys are fine. But from a woman’s perspective every single one of us is Schrödinger’s Rapist. You don’t know if a guy means you harm till he’s harming you. I really wish it were otherwise; but you’ve gotta live in the world.

I’ve played in bands on and off for years. I’ve seen it get other dudes laid; but it never worked for me when I was single. Most people forget who you are 10 minutes after you walk off stage. You should play music live because there’s something inside you that’s gotta come out; not because you think it’s gonna get you girls.

Depends what you mean by passive. If you’re a cute chick, you’re gonna get hit on - potentially by guys who’d love to be your boyfriend. But you can’t just sit there like a bump on a log providing no reciprocity and expect a dude to not get frustrated and leave.

That was debate. You’ve turned up with your ridiculous premise; and I’ve called it ridiculous. Feminism is a movement calling for equality and liberation with a long and storied history. a decently attractive woman nearing 30…slept with 5 guys Not unusual at all. A high school boyfriend, a college boyfriend, a long-term boyfriend and a couple of hookups? Pretty fucken run-of-the mill. Most chicks aren’t on an endless hoe phase in their 20s y’know.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 09:52 PM

Most of them. I’m pretty sure the guys not getting laid aren’t actually putting much effort in, beyond making a bad Tinder profile that gets no matches.

Your mum can tell you to clean your room till she’s blue in the face. But when some Canadian dickhead says it, it’s the greatest idea anyone ever had? I think you’re confusing who’s giving the message with how it’s delivered. Ask any gal to really think before she gives dating advice, and it’s gonna be “scrub up, be engaged, have something to talk about and be genuine”. And dudes will ignore that advice, in favour of the exact same shit coming from a dude with a shiny shirt and a bad haircut.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 11:17 AM

As I've said many times: TRP is fine prima facie, as it's just self-help boilerplate. But scratch the surface, and it's virulent misogyny all the way down. What good is TRP as a (ugh) "philosophy" if it can't help fix anything?

Well - when you’re only accountable to yourself, it’s easy to let shit slide. If I hadn’t met my missus, I’d have kept smoking weed and playing vidya games for a few more years before I got my shit in a sock. In the long run, I’m considerably happier and better off for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/24 09:45 PM

Bro - you can demand women pay for dates and ask you out today. Literally no one will stop you. There’s probably a small cadre of women out there who’ll be happy to oblige. But - much like dumpy homebody girls demanding six foot gigachad millionaires - good luck with that.

The single girls I know are good mates, but they range from “if I was single, I’d shamelessly hit you up” to “I get why you’re single”. I’m mates with women from mid 20s to mid 40s. None are terp fantasies. The young ones just want a guy who’s fun and nice to them. They’ve probably had boyfriends in the past - they weren’t slutting it up in the club. They are largely disinterested in hook ups. The older ones have all come out of relationships or marriages that ended. Some have kids, some don’t. …

There’s a whole system (call it patriarchy, call it culture - it doesn’t matter) that wants men to bury the emotional and vulnerable parts of themselves. Men that are alienated from each other, and from the women they ought to love and respect, are useful tools for the reptiles in charge. Being vulnerable, and respecting the vulnerability of others is nothing less than a radical act of resistance.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 11:38 AM

Only the most Pollyanna-ish techno-boosters will see this as anything other than a novelty talking body pillow. This will not move the needle on loneliness.

Yes they do. They choose not to. They choose not to be open with partners, friends, family, etc. Nothing is stopping them. Oh come the fuck on. Some men (like me) are lucky enough to have friends who will give them the grace and confidence they need to open up. But even I struggle to be open with people I trust such is the ambient cultural antipathy to men being vulnerable or weak. Hell - most guys grow up in a milieu that actively punishes them for vulnerability or weakness. And that’s not even…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 05:47 AM
2

Hell - I work in construction. I’m in significantly more danger than your average cop.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 09:33 PM
2

Yes. There’s some individually good officers; but they’re good in spite of the system. The system does everything it can to not only make them uphold said shitty system, but to make them worse individuals. By the same token (and I wouldn’t call myself a radfem) I have sympathy for the idea that patriarchy makes men uphold it, but also encourages them to be worse versions of themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 12:51 PM
2

Look - I’m just a blue collar dipshit; but I thought the general summary of radical feminism was “patriarchy cannot be reformed, and must be destroyed before women can be liberated”; rather than “men bad”. Like - there are radfems who will take the position that man are incorrigible monsters, but I’d say they’re a minority; and most will take the view that men are victims of patriarchy too. But - like I said - blue collar dipshit.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 12:18 PM
5

I dunno if that’s an exclusivity Marxist position; but whatever. So as a radfem you’ll acknowledge patriarchy; but other systemic injustice gets a pass I guess.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 05:51 AM
2

Even hardened anarchists will eventually admit there’s a case for some sort of cop-function. But the system we’ve got (and the sort of people it attracts) needs to be razed to the ground and rebuilt from first principles. Most US cops look more like armed thugs for capital than peace officers.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 05:26 AM
3

Well - the jacks give a lot of people some very good reasons to hate them; especially on your side of the pond (I’m assuming you’re American here) In my own country (Australia), our cops are a lot less likely to speed-hole you for reaching for your wallet; but I still don’t trust the cunts. I’ll just avoid them like the plague. I’ll call them when someone’s been stabbed; but that’s about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 04:13 AM

No - it’s not a fault in my logic. If anything, it’s the opposite. I can fix nearly anything in my house, ergo I’m up for far more hours doing jobs around the house than most blokes. And it still pales in comparison to the general grind of cooking and cleaning. Sorry boys. No one cares if you re-laid the pavers on the patio - you still have to do the dishes.

As an individual, you’ve gotta take care of your partner. Everyone come with baggage. But “motherhood penalties”? “Domestic labour gaps”? Nah. That’s a matter of doing what works in the relationship. When I’m cooking dinner, hanging out laundry, cleaning the bathroom or vacuuming the carpets, I’m doing that because they need doing and I’m doing my share of chores; not to address some domestic labour gap. But I’m not going to demand a reconciliation of hours spent on chores either. I do more dome…

Look - feminism is a broad church. They make a huge number of valid and well-argued points; but there's bound to be a few clangers in there. In the words of Tara Mooney "I do not support all women. Some of you bitches are very dumb."

I am largely disinterested in paying for the sins of my fellow men in my own relationship. I'll cheerfully pull my weight in the domestic/emotional labour front. We can both be grown-up people with jobs. Thankfully, my missus and I aren't internet brain-poisoned freaks; so we can have a normal relationship where we're not keeping track of everything like it's a fucken double-entry ledger.

Agree. The sole purpose of a first date is to work out whether you like someone enough to go on a second date. Why drag that out over an elaborate meal when you’re in the awkward early stages of getting to know each other. Just get a drink and don’t be fucken weird.

Masculinity is a social construction. Women are half of society. It stands to reason they play a role in the construction of masculinity. But to sheet everything back to dudes wanting to get their dicks wet seems overly deterministic.

Yeah, but what does that look like? Were that 50% of men a super hot commodity? Are they opting out of dating, or can they just not get dates? If it’s the latter, will their absence even be noticed?

I wouldn’t beat myself up in your shoes dude. Dating is confusing, frustrating and occasionally humiliating. You’re having a pretty normal experience. My only advice is that you should stop worrying so much about upsetting women or coming across creepy. You really need to get out of your head to develop a connection. Ironically - in trying to avoid coming across creepy, you may be coming across cold or uptight. There’s always a risk that you’ll say something that upsets/offputs them - but that’s…

Depends. Are you lonely, want a girlfriend, or are you just looking to get laid? The first is the problem that dudes are complaining about, and that can be solved through emotionally close friendships. The second you’ve gotta come at as an equal. If you’re a net negative in a woman’s life, why the fuck would she be interested in spending time with you? We can’t rely on being a provider anymore - we’ve gotta bring something else. FFS dude - the whole “picked the wrong man” thing is bullshit. It’s absolving the man of any blame for being abusive or neglectful. Lauren Southern might be a racist POS, but she didn’t deserve to be abused by her husband.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/24 10:03 PM

That’s definitely a thing; but it’s a separate demographic of women in their late 30s and older. The Tradwife thing seems to be a phenomenon of mid to late-20somethings.

Those chicks better hope their man really wants that life; or at the very least he’s willing to pay alimony.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/24 08:28 PM

I disagree. The Tradwife larpers love the pretty dresses of the 50s. They play at being button-down housewives; till they find themselves married to the sort of dudes who want a “traditional wife”. Then the reality sets in. Check out how Lauren Southern is going. She’s still a piece of shit, despite having come face to face with the reality of her ideology.

I have a soft spot for cottagecore, despite being a cranky socialist Me and the missus bake all our bread, distill our own gin, have a larder full of pickles and a yard full of veggies. I make furniture with hand tools and my wife makes her own clothes and covers the house in crochet. It’s like cottagecore did an exorcist-style vomit in our living room. But we get to do that because we’re rich and we don’t have kids - a very particular life.

The ostensible reason for the whole "women message first" thing was supposed to be a way of women avoiding creepy behavior from men. It was supposed to deal with the less pleasant parts of meeting dudes. I mean - it didn't work; but it was great PR for a fledgling tech company; particularly as we were still firmly in the Lean In/Girlboss era. The difference between 80 and 85% loss is pretty academic. I’d say bumble’s slightly greater loss is more a result of Match being a larger parent company, more than bumble’s uniquely bad business model. Note - this is not me caping for bumble. The whole “woman texts first” thing was a simple (read: dumb) solution to a complex problem.

TBH - I think there's a lot of guys who've never experienced intimacy with a woman, and think that what they're actually missing out on is sex. We've got a culture that's utterly obsessed with sex in all it's pornographic variety; but utterly shies away from love and intimacy as being too messy, vulnerable and icky. If you've experienced neither; you've got far more familiarity with sex than with intimacy.

Ive said things similar to this How similar, and in what context tho? I think there's a hell of a lot of dudes who are expecting women to solve their loneliness. A lot of women are fed up with being seen as the ones who have to solve the problem, and take the (fair enough) attitude of "this is a dude problem. Let the dudes fix it". I think some women take the complaint that a lot of men express about not being able to get sex at face value; and assume what’s lacked is only sex. I’m kinda confused by your question. Dudes are told to see escorts if they’re not getting laid, and they’re feeling deprived because of it. It’s a glib answer, because what most guys in that circumstance actually lack isn’t sex; it’s intimacy and the feeling of being wanted.

Partially agree. Therapy can be very valuable for some people. It certainly helped me through some stuff. That said - it was part of the solution. A lot of people seem to talk about therapy like it's the panacea for every problem. Also - I see people who've been doing therapy for fucking years. Hell no. My physical strength is one of the defining elements of my masculinity. I love being strong and fit. When I get injured and can't train, I inevitably get depressed. Losing some of the ready access to physical strength as I age (i.e. I have to train harder for less gain) has probably been one of the bigger sources of existential angst. I'm Australian; so work in regional areas is mostly installing high-wall and ducted split systems in domestic properties. It pays okay, but it's not great money. The cost of living is lower, but not that much lower - particularly if you're burning hundreds of dollars a week in petrol getting around from job to job. In a city you can make much better money and your CoL, while higher, isn't that much higher. It's not the HVAC guys out in the regions who own boats, investment properties and the lik…

Look - HVAC isn't HVAC isn't HVAC; more or less like any other job, there are specialties. If I wanna spend all day every day putting in high-wall split systems in people's houses; I guess I can go anywhere. But I like doing central plant work - so it's big cities or nothing. Likewise - my wife is a lawyer. We could moved to bumfuck nowhere and she could do wills and conveyancing; but that's not her interest of specialty.

We're not that mobile. I have no desire to move cities for better money.

I can assure you that the good HVAC jobs are not in rural and regional areas.

Depends what you mean by ED. Some sort of medical issue like very high blood pressure or nerve damage? Rare. Performance anxiety, certain medications, death grip or the ol' whiskey dick? Pretty much everyone at some point.

Sorta - though it’s mainly an online trope that first dates have to be these elaborate, carefully planned productions; or he doesn’t care. It’s a tiny number of TikTok/Insta weirdos ginning each other up for views; and thankfully not really borne out in reality for most people. Making the effort to pick a venue and a time is enough for most chicks.

I don't buy this "dating is more expensive for women" thing. I think a lot of women make it more expensive for themselves. Emphasis on for themselves. Like - it's personally flattering that you've turned up looking nice; but you would be surprised how few dudes can tell the difference between your $150 haircut, fancy makeup and designer dress; and you having showered, blow-dried your hair and put on the exact same slap you wear at work. Hell - unless you're pretty sure you're gonna bang the dude…

For real - it has never been easier to plan a date. Thanks to booking software, you don't even have to call a restaurant. Dudes have legitimate grievances with dating. This is definitely not one of them.

Why would you want to date someone like that?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/24 03:20 AM

Most of the complaining I see regarding effort is just guys not making any plans at all. "Do you wanna do something sometime?" and leaving it at that. Those complaints go away if you say "Hey wanna get a drink at <Bar> on Wednesday? How's 8 o'clock sound?" Not so tough.

I think you shouldn’t rely so heavily on your partner to fix your issues. That causes an unhealthy dependency, because if the relationship ends then that person is extremely vulnerable and their issues rise again. The relationship was just a band aid over the bigger issue. That's true to a certain extent; but there's a growing narrative online that having any reliance on a partner is a bad thing, and that you're being unfair to your partner by expressing any emotional needs. We go through tough …

Don't listen to these terp dorks. All the couples I know with great relationships laugh together all the time. They've got a big repertoire of in-jokes that make no goddamned sense to anyone else and love to crack each other up. That said, there are a lot of guys who feel a bit threatened by a really funny woman. A great way to hit on chicks is to be funny, and that feels tough when she's way funnier than you.

Dude - I’m 6’1”. I’ve always been in good shape. I’ve always had a good job and/or good prospects. And until I got lucky and met my missus, dating was always frustrating, anxiety-inducing and frequently humiliating. Only a tiny group of extremely extroverted, socially adept people are having fun out there. It’s a slog for everyone else - even if you’re getting dates. I count both men and women here. It’s a fucken bummer across the board.

I lift twice a week, do yoga twice a week and run five times a week. I have something resembling a skincare routine. When I’m not wearing grubby work clothes, I like to dress stylishly - it’s a nice counterpoint to looking like a dirtbag most of the time. I’m married. I don’t really get any indications of interest from women any more; but that makes sense as I’m old and not looking.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/24 11:54 PM
4

By that I mean the calculus of the situation is different for men and women. It’s easy to be gracious and polite if you know you’ll receive the same in return. But I know more than a couple of chicks who’ve had some guy arc up or follow her to her car when they’ve declined some dude’s advances. Also - some dudes are just dense. They need more than a polite “I have a boyfriend” or similar. I’ve had the “Ew. No.” treatment before; and while mortifying, I never felt like it could lead somewhere out…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/24 11:37 PM
3

Ehh…I dunno. I think most women are pretty polite. I think the onus is more on dudes to accept rejection gracefully. Getting shot down hard is humiliating; but I never felt physically threatened when a girl at a club told me to fuck off.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/24 10:54 PM

If you cold approach women, you learn pretty quickly to only approach women that you get some kind of open vibe with (e.g a genuine smile, a held look, etc). Just barrelling up to women is too much.

Women being rude to guys trying to talk to them is nothing new. I slunk away, ashen-faced, from a few attempts back in the 90s. If a woman is getting some sort of weird joy out of humiliating guys innocently shooting their shot, that reflects poorly on her. But women don’t owe sleazy guys attention or politeness.

It’s kind of a bummer when you go to talk to a chick and she shoots you down rudely. But there’s no point in getting too bent out of shape over it. She’s either kind of a bitch and you don’t want her in your life, or she’s been hit on ten times already and she’s sick of this shit and you just got in the way. Either way, you got your answer.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/24 11:19 AM

Will you stop being obtuse, ffs. No one is screaming “paedophile” at every dad taking their kid to the park. If that’s the entirety of your argument, why are we here? But if I see a lost kid crying in the street, I’ve found out the hard way that the best thing to do is press-gang the nearest woman to help me find the kid’s parent.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/24 11:21 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/24 12:36 AM

Honestly, it’s background noise for a lot of them. It only really comes to a head when there’s some kind of specific confrontation. Also - a lot won’t share these stories because they know it can look whiny. I dunno. Maybe it’s where I live, or who I’m friends with, or the simple fact that I’m a bloke who listens and feels like a safe pair of ears to other men; but I hear it a lot. It’s not anger or indignation - it’s sadness.

The paper posits that women are more attracted to wealthy men. It provides some evidence to support this. Cool. Redpill just flatters your worst instincts. It says that women are withholding their sexual goodies out of spite. Could it be that your obvious reek of desperation and resentment scares the maidens? Nah bro. You just need to lift.

Dude - if you’re rocking up to social justice spaces expecting them to provide you with a girlfriend you deserve to get told to fuck off. You’ll get help, support and sympathy; but that doesn’t come in the form of charity pussy.

The terps aren’t saying you have no chance with women though. They’re saying that women have to be treated as the enemy, and that the only reason you would ever want to interact with women is to fuck them.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/04/24 04:07 PM
2

Yeah. TRP just teaches you that women are simultaneously moronic children and terrifying Machiavellian psychopaths, all hell-bent on stealing your precious bodily fluids.

If absolutely nothing else, resilience. But more importantly, you learn what doesn't work, or who isn't into you.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/04/24 02:44 AM

Yes. Getting rejected sucks. But you learn more from failure than success.

social media There’s your answer. People with, or aspiring to, substantial social media followings are either deranged narcissists or outrage farmers. Usually both.

Wat? Is your only exposure to other women via TikTok? Who are these psychos demanding an 8 figure salary?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/24 08:25 PM

Whoa whoa whoa. Stop saying sensible, level-headed things. I come to this sub for the moonbat takes.

Dropping JDAMs on the server farms supporting pretty much every dating app and social media site would go a long way.

Well yeah - it’s push polling.

I disagree. Reading this in Jocko’s voice gets funnier every time I do it.

The inside of some people’s brains is a truly fucken weird place. This is catastrophising of the most demented sort. For the love of all that’s holy, throw your computer in the bin and go outside.

Quote for job as a whole. I put 10% on materials to cover logistical on-costs. I currently work for someone else, but have worked for myself in the past - I’m commenting assuming I work for myself.

Of course it fucking does. Have you people never had housemates?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/24 10:40 PM

Yo - I’m a plumber. I don’t have time for weaponised incompetence. I need to get the job done. I might stall for time if I’m trying to figure something out so I can look like I know exactly what I’m doing; but that’s about the extent of it.

Women who play in punk and metal bands are outrageously hot.

I’d still call that a friend, but you do you. I have attraction to and sexual tension with some of my friends. That doesn’t matter - I’m a one woman fellah.

Not the only difference in a deeper relationship; but at a situationship level - nah. Feels like over intellectualising a friendship to me - giving a category to something that doesn’t really warrant one. Am I missing something? What is the difference between a friendship and a celibate situationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 06:40 PM

Bro - which chicks you hanging out with?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 05:14 PM

“Celibate situationship” That’s…that’s a friend…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 05:12 PM

Dude - if you’ve got a medically diagnosed case of hypogonadism, and you’re taking test under the direction of a reputable doctor, power to ya. If you think your mild ennui can be solved with pills on the other hand…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 05:08 PM

Or you could eat a reasonable diet, get some moderate exercise and go outside now and then; rather than taking pills and expecting them to fix your problems.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 05:01 PM

Assuming this happened (and it didn't) - dude is burning down his house 'cause he saw a spider. People fuck up, and you're allowed to be pissed about it, but this is a wild overreaction. As for men not being standoffish when approached - we just don't get approached that much (unless you're unusually good looking, I suppose). Any marginally attractive woman is going to have to deal with unwanted attention from guys all the time. It sucks getting shot down rudely, but I kinda sympathise with the …

Everyone involved in the development and publishing of dating apps should be put in a work camp until they have made recompense for their crimes. Everyone else should be made to touch grass.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 08:54 AM

Pills are not a good substitute for condoms. It is fucken wild to me that people are out here rawdogging when they only just met. I've had the snip - but if I was dating, there's no damn way I'd be hitting it raw till we were in a relationship and had taken that romantic trip to the clinic together. Then again - I came up when HIV was still killing people...
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 08:50 AM

The "provider" thing is the most unbearably cringe shit. I want a partner, not a dependent.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 08:46 AM

David Buss was the evo-psych guy who started this bullshit about menstrual cycles and mate selection. He’s since walked back his original conclusions significantly; but this bullshit stuck. There does seem to be some association between menstrual cycle and mate selection; but it’s very weak. Socio-economic factors are significantly stronger predictors of mate selection.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/24 01:36 AM

Tried what? Focussing on superficial shit that doesn’t matter when forming a relationship? MF is firehosing money around and spending all his time getting jacked; and he’s upset that he’s attracting party girls? Not only that, but he seems to have nothing but contempt for the chicks he does cross paths with. It’s fucking demented.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/24 01:30 AM

Everyone’s life is difficult mate. If you’ve got $200k to blow on a car, your life is considerably easier than most.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/24 12:20 AM

There are plenty of people out here who care about mens’ struggles. But OP isn’t struggling. He’s just pissed that lifting and splashing money around hasn’t netted him the lingerie model/instagram Tradwife he thinks he’s entitled to. If he spent as much time trying to form some genuine connections with women as he did shooting tren and eating steak, he’d have a girlfriend.

Why the fuck would a woman be “loving” or “nurturing” to just any guy? Those are pretty vulnerable traits. Wouldn’t she have to feel safe to express those sides of herself?
