I have the same experiences with videos about gaming. I find an interesting channel of a woman that criticizes censorship and the current payment processor crisis, but then the next video she uploads is about why woke games are bad.

I mean you're not wrong, but time and place matter. We don't want people to come to this sub and make random comments about how misogyny is bad either.

"See? This Twitter ragebait is why I'm justified in making fun of lonely men!"

Off-topic but I believe when someone blocks you you can still see their comments but not reply to them. Technically you can still click on "reply" and write a comment and it will show up on your profile, but it isn't actually displayed in the comment thread for others to see and the person you replied to won't get a notification.

Do they even look at their own posts? All they do is blame ALL men for their personal experiences with the men they keep dating. The dating scene is so heavily biased towards women that this argument backfires completely, because the exact opposite is true.

Probably browsed popular once, found a fake engagement bait post titled "My boyfriend (m56) hit me (f18) AITA?" and concluded that men are evil.

They can't comprehend that men aren't a hivemind and the bigots aren't the same people as the ones that complain about misandry.

No, wtf. That's the same rationale these femcels use. "Men have a higher crime rate than women" and stuff like that.

No men and women are not the same. The question is whether or not they should be treated the same. I believe they should be, and I know that these sexists do not agree with me.

I'm far more left leaning than most people on reddit. But ofc my societal status as a man is determined by my body count. Fucking hypocrites.

I hate shit like this so much. Ofc the comments were full of "male loneliness epidemic summed up". They just have absolutely no clue what our experiences are like and project that if we can't get a girlfriend, there must be something seriously wrong with us. The second panel simply does not happen. Women do not just say this to a guy, or even imply it. Women rarely approach us at all, or give us compliments, or even just fucking acknowledge us. We're basically invisible unless we approach them a…

Yeah, it was probably made by some teenager who is sad because her boyfriend cheated on her or some shit.

Yeah, it feels great anytime I see a woman sympathize with men's problems here on Reddit, it's so rare. Nevermind getting compliments, just being acknowledged as a fellow human with struggles of their own is reassuring. lol

If we talk in terms of worst things that actually happen, she can accuse you of sexually harassing you, which can potentially ruin your entire life.
/r/EverydayMisandry15/01/25 07:01 PM

Yeah, the term has been tilted by sexists for a long time now imo. I've always been for gender equality, even as a little kid I had strong feelings about it, but I have never called myself a feminist.

If any trans men read this, stay strong guys. While I can't relate to what you're going through, I've had times where I was considering ending it and harmed myself. Still not exactly doing great but much better than before. Not going to lie to you and tell you it's all going to get better, I just want you to know that you have my sympathy and I truly hope you're doing okay.

Also slut shaming is evil and women's body counts are none of your business. But if a man has a low body count he deserves to be mocked.

So my response to this should be to be sexist towards women, by her logic? Yeah, that's definitely gonna resolve societies issues.
/r/EverydayMisandry28/12/24 03:18 PM

Yeah, but do these exact 2 women hate men for it? We should only call out hypocrisy when people are actually displaying it, instead of treating women like a hivemind (just like how misandrists treat all men the same).

Something like 40% female voters, wasn't it? But hey, I somewhat agree with them. Please do not have children, no man or woman deserves to have sexist parents.

Empathy gap. Victims of any crime are usually belittled more if they identify as female. And sure, technically women have it worse in the sense that rape may lead to pregnancy. But by that logic you could go to a woman that was raped and tell her "at least you didn't get pregnant, pregnant women have it worse than you." Wouldn't be such a nice argument to have now that men are out of the equation, huh?

Cis man myself, but I believe a lot of trans men hate the term "fragile masculinity" as much as we do, because it often paints masculinity as an undesirable trait, which is ofc what trans men transition towards rather than away from. At least this is what I gathered from some of them on reddit, if any actual trans men want to chime in, please do.

I agree with you, but keep in mind that we only got to hear how she perceived the situation. He might have a different story to tell.

Note that the OP admitted that the word "emasculated" was the wrong choice, but that ofc didn't stop thousands of people from upvoting and agreeing with the consensus. The comments are overall pretty misandrist as well, many saying they get the "ick" from his behaviour and demanding men to adhere to traditional gender roles without applying the same to women.

I think it exists and I also think it's very classic capitalism. It's up to women/people who buy products targeted at women to stop supporting brands that do this. Same with women's jeans not having pockets and stuff like that. Stop buying it and companies will stop selling it. I see no issue with women who complain about the pink tax, as long as they don't try to blame men.

Like you say, it's just copium and people feeling the urge to point fingers and seeing the world as black and white. Fair world fallacy and all that, way easier to accept than a world where things are complicated and no single reason lead to the shitty situation we find ourselves in. Men are the easiest demographic to drag through the mud without consequences, so there you go.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the subreddit. It was like that even long before the election with people claiming antinatalist men aren't real antinatalists if they don't get a vasectomy and shit like that. And now the sub keeps bringing up the 4b movement in relation to the male % of the republican votes, which makes no sense to me, because why would you date a right wing man to begin with if you're left wing. To me that sort of confirms that some women do in fact keep dating the same type of men …

To me it sounds like you're still on the left, but disappointed in most other people who would call themselves leftists. In which case, welcome to the club. I've been an antinatalist for a couple of years now because I firmly believe no system will ever work, humans are fundamentally too greedy and corrupt.

Write "if you don't vote for Harris you're not a real woman" on ANY feminist sub. You will get downvoted, insulted and probably banned as long as enough people there see your comment. The hypocrisy is rampant.

Even masculine and over weight women would make me blush if they catcalled me tbh. As long as they don't get physical (whether they're pretty or not) I'm ok with it.

A good analogy is that women are drowning in sexual attention while men are starved of it. Neither is pleasant.

I agree with you, but unfortunately you're fighting a losing battle. Social media will always be like this, echochambers and polarization. I understand why it's happening, people need a place to vent, I do too. But in the end things will just end up worse for us all.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates11/08/24 08:44 AM

Nah, you're spot on. Gender roles in relationships should never be expected by default. Equality can't be achieved if people aren't treated equally.

"Men don't have many social issues" Not many that you acknowledge*
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates11/08/24 08:18 AM

No business in the history of capitalism has ever cared about any social issues. All they care about is what's profitable. Being against misogyny, homophobia, racism and so on is profitable. Being against misandry is not. If Russia started WW3 and won, every single one of these companies would make an 180 on their ethics.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates11/07/24 09:38 PM

You can try to distract yourself from thinking too much about it without downplaying the issues. Of course having actual support would be better, but this is probably the best a lot of us can do, unfortunately.

As an autistic guy myself, I believe many feminists use their gender ideology as a way to express their ableism without facing any consequences for it. I notice it again and again that they treat all men as if they're the same and either don't take mental illnesses into consideration or straight up tell men with them that their social difficulties are their own fault and are very quick to throw around the word "incel".
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/06/24 09:26 AM
1

To be honest, there was never a person in my life that I felt completely emotionally safe with, man or woman. Not counting therapists, but I have trouble opening up even then because it's so engrained into my brain that I need to wear mental masks to hide myself behind. It was particularly bad in school, where showing weakness just meant both boys and girls will ridicule you because you're a guy (while girls will mostly be supported by both, as they were allowed to cry or be sad and boys would b…

I'm grateful for any trans man who is with us and I think their experiences are something we should absolutely take into consideration, as many of them will have first hand experience of what it is like "on the other side", while cis men can only share views from one perspective (and are sadly often dismissed by misandrists because of that).
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/06/24 08:53 AM

Anytime a guy there complains about being lonely (because being lonely is extremely common among autistic men) he gets called an incel, no matter how he expresses himself. It's always the same "being lonely is your own fault, pull yourself up by your bootstraps" kind of non-sense people will hiss at lonely men. You can also not discuss the fact that it's way more of a problem for men than for women. Despite being a fact, it's still considered incel rhetoric and always provokes hostility.

You're right, thinking about it, it's cases of child abuse where I noticed that trend. Not just sexual, but other kinds like verbal abuse too (shitty parents tend to make children that'll become shitty parents themselves).
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates11/05/24 05:32 AM

Isn't it very common for rapists to be victims of rape themselves? I think it's learned behavior and not something inherent to a person in most cases. But I'm absolutely no expert on that topic. All I know is that I'm a guy and the thought of having sex with someone who isn't enjoying it disgusts me.

I wouldn't mind a sub dedicated to it, but I'm not sure if the userbase is large enough to support 2 subs. And yeah, linking to other subs is something we should avoid.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates08/05/24 08:13 PM

It's just depressing because that sort of mindset is abaolutely not exclusive to feminist spaces. This sub is one of the few places we can safely vent without any red-pill idiots chiming in.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates08/05/24 08:01 PM

It's honestly so reassuring to know that someone who experienced both sides actually ends up agreeing with you. Thank you so much.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates08/05/24 07:49 PM

Idk, short and skinny men get treated the same way, except probably worse because women don't like how they look.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates08/05/24 07:48 PM
3

I know it shouldn't, but reading things like this just make me feel so goddamn worthless. Like I'm just disgusted with myself sometimes and wish I didn't have any emotions. Also makes me not want to interact with any women my age, because I always feel like that no matter what I do, they will silently judge me for it.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates08/05/24 07:42 PM

How much you wanna bet that social media companies of all kinds not only push this stuff for activity, but also create it? They probably hire people solely for the purpose of figuring out what types of controversy would make for the best sources of engagement.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates02/05/24 11:25 PM

I'm probably not gonna die angry, just sad. God that sounds cringy, but it's true. lol I genuinely just wish the world wasn't so full of hatred.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates02/05/24 11:22 PM

They had bad interactions with other men, so it's not the responsibility of us to "make it better". The men responsible deserve punishment, the men not responsible deserve to be left alone. Ofc I'm not saying men should ignore the acts of other men, they should call them out and shame them, but that's because it's something everyone should do, not just men. Just like everyone should call out and shame women when they do something bad, like implying all men are rapists.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates02/05/24 11:07 PM

As someone who's been a physically weak man his entire life, I honestly never respected anyone who demanded that men should protect women (or that men should do more physical labour or w/e). Even as a small child that felt like sexism to me. It should always be about strong protecting the weak, regardless of gender.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates02/05/24 11:04 PM

So in that case the same comparison could be made with a statement like "I'd rather encounter a bear than a woman", right? Essentially trying to point out the misandry by drawing an analogy to other types of discrimination. In that case, yeah, that's pretty much always the way to call out hypocrites. Unfortunately it doesn't work, since misandrists/misogynists/racists/homophobes and so on mostly don't actually believe that they are discriminating against anyone. In this case the people in questi…
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates02/05/24 01:43 PM

That wasn't the original scenario though, was it? First women said they'd choose a bear over a man. Then someone in this sub said we should reply by asking them if they'd choose a bear over a black man. They would obviously say yes, because they didn't make it about race at first. Unless I'm missing something now?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates02/05/24 01:16 PM
19

To be honest I also don't agree with the post in this subreddit. It really wasn't a gotcha, there is nothing racist about saying you'd pick the bear over a black man when you'd pick the bear over any kind of man. Ofc the whole bear vs man thing is still extremely sexist and fueled by misandry. And the comments in that thread prove how toxic their mindset is. Nothing but insults and dehumanization.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates02/05/24 03:28 AM

I haven't seen a single feminist woman take a strong stance against this trend so far. It's eye opening to see just how widespread the hatred for men really is.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates02/05/24 01:31 AM
2

Absolutely agree. This is fueled by hatred. They don't want to make a point, they want to get angry and point their fingers at others and blame them for their problems. It's what fuels all types of discrimination.
