Egalitarian/egalitarianism is the word traditionally used for that.

I think it's also about how much of a difference her persona was. Like, sure you're actually female, who cares, but you do actually like the shows we've been talking about and enjoy board games, etc, right? If she was playing a character it's totally different to just being herself but male. I'd have zero problem with the latter because the lie doesn't matter, but the former means that no actual friendship existed.

It still doesn't matter. Fecal matter's pretty much everywhere and even if it's not that, a moist toothbrush will harbour all kinds of things. It's fine though, that's what an immune system's for. I guarantee you that you've eaten food magnitudes 'dirtier' than a normal bathroom toothbrush has ever been.

My argument is less of a practical one and more of a fairness one. To be blunt, when a "mistake" occurs the woman has the right to an ultimate failsafe in order to ensure that the pregnancy does not go to term; completely independent of the intent of the man. On the other side of that she also, currently, has the ability to change her mind on pregnancy and force a partner to support her and a child that neither of them wanted. Man and woman both want a child == child Woman wants child, man doesn…

I think we just straight up disagree on this topic then. It's the difference in options and control that gets to me. When people don't want to have a child it's likely because they aren't in a situation where they can care for it. To accidentally have one occur after minimising risk as much as possible and then having the other party effectively change their mind and force you into a financial (and possible other) responsibility ... that's fucked. I'm not trying to downplay the womans role by th…

That's tough. Some would argue that sexual release is definitely a necessity in life, it's the "endpoint" of every sexual organism and has massive positive feedback. It's like saying that food isn't as important as breathing so you should only ever eat exactly the nutrients required by your body and if you ever get food poisoning, fat or an allergic reaction it's completely your fault because you knew the risks. Yes the risk for pregnancy is always present when people have sex. Should they be fo…

Assumption's probably not the best word but it's the only one that I can think of for the situation presented. Neither person wanted a child, hence the protection, so it could be assumed that the woman would take options to not have a child. Communication is important but I also believe in these "recreational" sex events the assumption should hold. If I meet a woman at a bar and we both consent to sex with protection ... I don't think it would be appropriate to ask their opinion on abortion, you…

Sure, but there's a difference of responsibility after the act. If a man and woman decide to have a one-night-stand using protection then the implication, stated or not, is that they do not want to produce a child from that act. If somehow the woman accidentally gets pregnant than the assumption (or statement) was, going into it, that there would be an abortion. However, now there's a difference, since the woman can say "Hey, you know what, I might actually keep the child even though I wasn't tr…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
