Oh wow! I’d never heard about the tests not being accurate! That’s good to know, if I end up trying for a second I’ll keep that in mind! Thanks for the info! :)

I know I can’t reach mine to check. I wasn’t referring to checking cervical position (high/low) or cervical quality (hard/soft). There really is no need to check that when trying to conceive anyway, it is very ambiguous when it comes to tracking ovulation and completely unreliable when it comes to prediction conception. I suggest using ovulation tests instead.

Do you tell him if/when you’re having your period? I inform him when I am ovulating (for contraceptive reasons) and when my period begins (we don’t have sex during my period because I have endo and the pain is too intense). Or maybe only when it’s a particularly bad one? I let him know if I’m having a “particularly bad” period in terms of energy level and pain level, but I don’t discuss how heavy the flow might be. I save the gifs of the elevator scene from the Shining for my girlfriends. What i…

He’s a true gem to just be like, “my bad, let’s get it later today.” He is a gem! :) I know that context is so important when I want to discuss something, my problem is that my ADHD makes me a blurter. I can know logically that I should wait to discuss something until we’re both relaxed or in a good mood, but I have a hard time controlling that “NOW NOW NOW TALK ABOUT IT RIGHT NOW WHAT IF YOU FORGET OMGOMGOMG!!!!!” voice in my head sometimes. Congrats on your new fancy watch, I’ll bet it’s beaut…

Update! I waited until we were all settled in on the cozy cleaned-up front porch with some soft instrumental playing to bring it up. I asked if he wanted me to remind him about the Apple Watch, and he said that he had forgotten and would we like to get it later that afternoon? That was yesterday. I’m still working to set it all up, but I have noticed an increase in my productivity thanks to its little reminders. Thanks for all the advice!

After a few years, the relationship with your SO will look/feel nothing like the honeymoon period. Ideally it’ll be a different kind of great, but it will be different nonetheless. Absolutely! This year marks 8 years of marriage for my husband and I. Relative to the “Honeymoon Period”, being 8 years in is miles better. Imagine the honeymoon period is like whitewater rapids and settled married life is like a steady, deep river. The rapids are definitely more exciting than a steadily-flowing river…

I’m finishing up To Kill a Mockingbird for my book club meeting in 2 weeks. I’ve really enjoyed reading it as an adult, there was so much I missed when I read it as a preteen in school! The audiobook is narrated by Sissy Spacek, she does a great job. I’m watching The Staircase on Netflix with my husband. I don’t want to get into it about my opinion of the case, but good god the female prosecutor looks like a Disney villain come to life! She’s so cartoonish, I cannot take her seriously whatsoever…

I also ask Sir if he’d like me to remind him when he mentions something that he needs or wants to get done. This is genius! I love this! I’m totally going to use this as a communication strategy moving forward. I’m usually the “rememberer” in our relationship Same. It’s kind of like the blind leading the blind, but I have a brain book too so it falls to me more often than not. You. I like you. You’re a good-idea-haver.

Thank you! This is great advice! He has the next few days off, so I might mention something like that if we go for a hike or something.

My husband absolutely cares how I dress! I dress to his tastes every day. He likes to see me in what he calls “happy” clothes, which for him means flowery or ruffled skirts and dresses. I wear fitted scoop-neck t-shirts with colorful sari skirts or I wear flowery dresses like this recent purchase. I have wavy/curly hair, which he prefers that I wear loose. When I was in high school, other students would compare my hair to Kate Hudson’s hair since she was Miss Thing at that time. He likes subtle …

I have most of my pieces made by a dressmaker This did not even occur to me as an option! What a great idea! Do you go to a fashion district for your fabrics?

Any specific brands you would recommend? I’ve lost quite a bit of weight since giving birth 6 months ago and am looking to update my wardrobe with some quality items.
