Perfect anecdote for this post. Thank you. Your friend sounds fascinating. I know a few people like that too. The best advice I've received : "Learn from the exceptions... the people that shouldn't have success in their endeavours but do."

I've read enough on this subreddit to know that the best action is to never let a woman know what you do for a living. A little experimentation won't hurt. Having tried both approaches, I believe there is no "best action"; all depends on context. that pussy is going to try with all of it's might to close up. Given the age range we're talking about, it is the natural imperative of that pussy to close up. The moment she feels 'safe' about commitment, it surely will. It will pretend That's where yo…

If you ever got a chance to see how women behave around a guy who is aesthetic as fuck Precisely. We live in a society where most women have likely been around (or fucked) aesthetically superior (almost guaranteed to be on some form of anabolics) bodybuilders. That set includes men who've gone past their "gym is healthy for mind and body" threshold. Lifting & meditation have to be part of all TRPers daily routines. The problem is, this subreddit is filled with too many young men who believe thei…

Trick question. There's no poor Prince or skinny Brock Lesnar. I find it amusing that people don't mind striving for a steroid-infused body to stand apart, but they've somehow convinced themselves that wealth isn't attainable (or is somehow pointless from a TRP perspective). And then there are those that try to convince you that a poor Brock Lesnar gets 'better' (alpha) sex than Prince.

Appreciate the reply. its really simple stuff, just go and do it in real life. You do realise there's many here confused about how they're supposed to 'do it in real life' when they've got certain disadvantages chiseled into them over decades. probably written by people that will never actually be alpha And that is the exact sort of individual that the post mentions and hopes to stimulate. That alphas are predictable and perhaps an unnecessary ideal for many TRPers.

I'd like to believe fellow TRP members are more mature than to throw ad-hominem attacks. Care to elaborate on what you find 'stupid'. Is it that the entire theme of machiavellian optimization feels inconsistent with your views?

You don't have to be extremely rich to pull this off. That's the best part. And the differential is a matter of perception, one that's easy to manipulate thanks to current-gen social media.

Absolutely... lifting needs to be TRP step 1. What we don't often address are the plateaus, and the fact that most women can't even tell that you workout, when you're not wearing a tight t-shirt. The desire for being in the top 10% will inevitably lead to the anabolics question and that's where deeper questions about the effects on other skills need to be addressed.

Exactly. Maximize your strengths; for some that'll be skills that result in more money (and hence more power).

OPs point is still valid. There's far more fat-acceptance, curve-love on the women's side. No curvy-joe thinks he's in the same league as chad six-pack. Thunderwhales however have no reason not to believe they're magazine cover worthy 10s. Men are more driven. A lot more men sticking with their gym routines (with assistance). Doctors predict anabolic use to spike within the next decade. And let's not forget those TRP membership stats rising. Sure, there'll be obese men around. But there'll be fa…

Enterprise won out in the end, they were smart, sneaky and didn't depend on advertising gimmicks. Just a little peak at their current website'll tell you how much they care about appearances.

Interesting. It brought them a lot of business (as mentioned above, around 10% more), but it didn't really affect Hertz. The only reason it was 'groundbreaking' was that they did a complete 180 from what brands were supposed to do at the time. The novelty factor brought them a lot of virality/attention in the media for free. The 'tons' of business they got, was sucked out of the bottom % of the market, while Hertz kept hold of its 50+% for decades.

Isn't this (perhaps mild) advocacy? "Mayer more or less agrees with the aims of movement feminists, only she goes about achieving them in unorthodox ways." http://www.slate.com/articles/double_x/doublex/2013/03/marissa_mayer_is_not_a_feminist_is_the_term_useful_anymore.html On a related note, "You can choose whether to use the word "feminist," but you don't get to choose whether to be a feminist role model." http://jezebel.com/5927055/does-it-matter-if-marissa-mayer-doesnt-think-shes-a-feminist

She's an exceptional individual on various dimensions. She also had a relationship with Larry Page (founder of google), that allowed her to rise quicker then she would have otherwise. On the definition of feminism http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/feminism the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities She does. organized activity in support of women's rights and interests She's not entirely against it.

Firstly, there's varying degrees of Feminism. Isn't it possible she made that statement primarily for a strategic career and media boost, when that other high-level silicon valley female executive (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/09/sheryl-sandberg-feminism_n_5120343.html) took a more radical public approach roughly around the same time. That blog post was hers, you'll have to read between the lines. Numerous employees at Yahoo think it was all her. Here's what she said (notice all the I's): "On a personal level, I love brands, logos, color, design, and, most of all, Adobe Illustrator. I think it's one of the most incredible software packages ever made. I'm not a pro, but I know enough to be dangerous :) So, one weekend this summer, I rolled up my sleeves and dove into the trenches with our logo design team" You may be right tho…

OP edited. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised back when they announced she was turning CEO. I would have liked to watch her turn Yahoo around, for nostalgia's sake, a nice turn-around story, and for the sake of the thousands working at Yahoo (including friends). Until this logo post of hers http://marissamayr.tumblr.com/post/60336044815/geeking-out-on-the-logo Clearly trying to prove she's special, with a bunch of employees who can't stand up to her.

Agreed, the results of fight-modes often end up on the wrong side of our moral compass. Aggressive fight-modes (pioneers, conquerors) are what accelerated much of human evolution though. Is mere 'survival' a quality that the universe looks forward to, from an evolutionary, natural-selection standpoint? Wouldn't some say that the world right now has a lot more people with more active flight-modes (due to them surviving a lot more) than fight-mode people? The fight-mode stories are a lot more news…

Nice, I'm going to clip this one. Basically, you were the leader (alpha) at the scene, delegated well, saved the day. Definitely contributes to your subconscious reactions to similar situations in the future. Do you wonder about germs during sex too? About being 'more of a man', the post was about becoming a more respect-worthy man by personal and social standards. The minimum condition being this man has a healthy fight-flight system.

Fascinating points, thank you for introducing me to 'near enemies'. Don't you think true equanimity requires a level of desensitisation to certain experiences though. I am not advocating being dark triad or indifferent, just that certain individuals like myself need a strict diet of desensitisation to 'fix' their overactive flight responses. It's not a stretch to imagine the broken flight response having a negative effect on sexual strategy, especially in the highly competitive playing field tha…

Happened a long while ago. Wouldn't you say the fact that he reacted well in such a situation makes him an alpha in that context, thereby increasing the likelihood that he's alpha in other situations as well.

It isn't about being completely unflinching, just that some people have too strong of a flight response. You're right though, the erosion of empathy is unavoidable, but not necessarily bad for the individual.

Interesting example, Charles Manson is on the darker end of the spectrum. In trying to filter out the characteristics that work 'without becoming a psychopath', is where one runs into a lack of congruence. It's quite tough to turn into a true psychopath. About the "good" or "right" debate, if the outcome was mutually desirable, then why not label the methods as "right". Right and wrong being mostly subjective through a TRP lens. I don't think TRP's out to condemn psychopaths. Just objective obse…

probably never going to witness Unless you're completely detached from the media, your subconscious probably doesn't believe that. Thanks for that link, I've watched quite many 'faces of death' videos.

There's definitely an undertone of admiration for the dark triad. Revealing what works will result in more folks trying those exact methods, that is an observation too. All I'm suggesting is that active desensitisation is a parallel pathway to attaining the frame that holds some useful dark triad characteristics together.

Pretty evident at 39 seconds, norton raising his voice to regain control, TC not giving a shit. That being said, TC is the highest status individual in the room, the dynamics of that space was pretty well defined before they walked in.

As the previous commenter suggested, was hyperbole. Should mention though, greater than a third of all women close to me (family, friends, friend's spouses, exes) are clinically bipolar. More than a few of them have caused physical harm to their partners. Also this: "The prevalence of psychiatric disorders is greater than previously thought to be the case. " "it was found that women had elevated rates of affective disorders and anxiety disorders" "Nearly 50% of respondents reported at least one …

They discriminate too, but have likely dealt with much worse. Whole point though, to kick that flappy labia off the pedestal. In life there's all kinds of progressive desensitization and then there's first-time-with-a-hooker level of desensitization.

Most guys are aware that the zone exists. Once you know you're in the deep zone though, there's benefits to be had. Best friend zone I was in (walked into that one by being a little too chivalrous), once I stopped picking up her calls, she baked me cheesecake, got me random gifts and more.

I fucking love how willing you are to please me. Especially in today's competitive text-game world where a great majority of the younger guys have absorbed the art of subtext.

It's sad cause he needed psychological help and a mentor of some kind, at the right time. Life coaches are mostly BS. But there's genuinely good mentors out there; I'm glad I found mine early on.

Agree with the op. Guy is an excuse reactor. His thoughts on prostitution What’s going to happen if I pay for sex and just have it once? and like having a taste of a fine steak and then learning you will only get to eat hard beans and drink water for the rest of your life Sex is the least of his problems. Has a toxic logic core and nothing of value to offer anyone to stick around.

Digital fingerprinting, based on the sites you've visited in the past (cookies, visited links etc.) and some interesting probabilistic methods (markov chains etc.) they can determine with a fair degree of accuracy whether you're male/female, your income level, interests and more.

Absolutely. Attractive women having a harem of zoners, sure, that I've come to expect and understand. Though the recent hoards of 'not so attractive' women being vocal about their friendzoning has me wondering. Is it that they want the world knowing they're capable of having orbiters too.

Takes a shit ton of discipline, doctors visits and surgeries to survive up to that age. History: Ex had duty sex with me. Was seeing a lava hot escort at the time. For the escort, Yes it is duty sex, yes they enjoy it, yes there's real emotions flying around. The 'duty' is what gets things started, but *can soon move into real fun territory. My ex enjoyed duty sex too, by enjoyed I mean multiple raging orgasms and squirting. That's powerful advice. Never thought of it that way, but makes total sense that an introvert would want the company of an extrovert. Thanks.

Haha. I hear what you're saying about those pretentious introverts hiding behind walls of snow. Perhaps you're an extrovert that loves solo activities like reading and reddit. Besides the "recharge' thing, any reason you'd consider yourself an introvert? I'm glad we can mostly agree that the new-age 'introvert' movement isn't really helping anyone. You're partly right. Often feels like a downward spiral that's hard to eject from. I think there's more than a few socio-biological factors that play into interactions from the past, leading one believe they're stressful. Being a fat kid, always the last one to be picked for a team sport, etc. As a kid, I often thought being called 'shy' was a good thing. Obsessing over the details of an interaction might however be a personality trait; one that needs a whole lot of social interactions to undo. …
