The figure skating is holding me back. I don't want to enable him to turn out like that and plus it makes my skin crawl. You should hear the music he practices to. Brutal. However, what you're saying is where I'm leaning. I asked my wife if there's anything our son likes to do that we could maybe do together. She said he is interested in learning to play tennis. I don't know how to play tennis either but I'm thinking I'll ask him if he wants to have a standing "learn tennis together" date once o…

Figure skating is not really a sport. Especially not the kind my son does. He is a singles skater meaning he's not even lifting a girl over his head, all he's doing is twirling around in a sparkly costume by himself. Yes she cooks depression era food because she is a control freak and probably has trauma from her shitty childhood. God forbid our kid eat a hotdog. Everything is about control. I thought a forum for "mens" divorce would be understanding of this rather than fawning over her amazing …

April fools! You got me. I actually love having a controlling ex-wife and a limp wrist son. I see now how unbelievable it is that I would not like that. It's every man's dream.

Thank you. My wife would never let me do that but it would be good to check because ... yah yikes

Oh no definitely not having more offspring. I learned the hard way that babies break a woman's brain.

Sounds like enabling to me tbh.

All of those activities sound fine and age appropriate depending on your kid's age. Your lucky. My kid doesn't like normal stuff. The thing is my ex is crazy and has controlled everything for him so I don't believe this is who he is. But I know he spends A LOT of time figure skating and he watches figure skating too, and I know he knows how to play chess (idk if he likes it). He has a lot of plushies that he seems to like, yes despite being 14. They come from figure skating too because I guess i…

Idk, it's very difficult. I have never been able to bond with him. My wife had surgery once many years ago (it had nothing to do with me, nobody lose their minds). She arranged for my son to stay with her friend for most of the time but then her friend had an emergency and called me to get my son. I asked him what he wanted to do and he said skating so we went to public skate. My son was maybe 4 at the time. He was already a very proficient skater which at first I felt proud of. But then he went…

Thanks, I'm definitely getting the impression this is a lost cause. That's probably for the best in the long run.

That's the problem with stopping reading mid sentence. Obviously it's good in general. It's not good for proving she's a bad mother.

My relationship with him is not good at all because he is brainwashed by his mother. When he was younger, his mother was always with him and "protecting" him from me (he didn't need protecting but she's crazy), she'd always run "interference" whenever I said stuff to him to try to man him up a bit. She speaks Russian to him to alienate me further. And now she isn't always with him but he avoids me. What do I do with him? Nothing, I haven't even seen him in 4 months because he avoids me and she r…

Oh 1000% Russian women are a trap. But at this point I'm more scared my son isn't going to marry a woman at all. I'd take a hot, crazy daughter-in-law over an all-American son-in-law ... Alimony is a great idea thanks. I am also hoping to get half her savings and she gets half my credit card debt.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
