I like your response. You are right, for me to be captain I need to effectively convey my vision for our relationship. Doing so in the right way would actually provide comfort and flip the need for action back on her. She is looking for an unconditional promise, I instead offer a vision for our future that doesn't involve me cheating because I am satisfied with the relationship.

Agree, frame is my biggest weakness. Obviously I could have done much better. I am working through the sidebar. Anywhere I should specifically look for comfort tests? Shit tests/comfort tests are a totally new way of thinking for me and I am still struggling to overcome them (obviously).

The negotiation of a BJ was instead of instant sex. I wanted to go to the gym, so I did. She wasn't rejecting sex, she was rejecting sex prior to me going to the gym (ie so we can cuddle etc afterwards). Sure, it would be better to start that way than I did. But my guess is she wouldn't let it go until hearing me say no. Would you really not answer? Wouldn't that fail from a comfort standpoint? For example: "No, but are you going to give me a reason to?"
