It doesn't bother me. I'm there to take a piss, wash my hands and get on with my day, I'm not there making friends with the bloke peeing next to me.

I think it sucks when networks just cancel shows. It's such a huge F-U to the people who invested their time (and sat through ads) on a show just to cancel it. I don't think I've ever seen the 5 season outline. Do you know where I could read about it? I've got my own ideas about where they could have taken it, so I'd be curious about it lol. I love the ending for Season 7. I watched Buffy and Angel in chronological order this summer for the first time. Seeing Buffy end but then sort of continued…

Yes! Season 6 is my favourite season for the way it handled the topic! But it goes further back than that too. Buffy is very prone to episodes of depression before that too. She's also had a mental breakdown too in Season 5. It was originally told over several months because it was aired on TV, but the span of time from Joyce dying to Dawn being abducted wasn't long at all in the show. Add that to everything else that's happened, it was more than just Dawn being taken that caused the breakdown. …

It's SUCH a good show! It killed me watching Season 2 because you can see where they were taking it all and it would have been amazing! I loved Season 2 because of the story and during S1 it was clear where they were taking Echo and the story. It was killing me that people were thinking Caroline was coming out when it wasn't, it was Echo evolving. But then also the whole technology side of things too! Like, we were seeing how it was being used and what they were developing. How could people not …

See, as much as I hated Warren and what he stood for, the meaning behind the Trio goes completely over peoples heads. Yes, Warren did awful things and should have been punished for them, but his reputation gets pushed onto Johnathon and Andrew and the Trio in general. Yeah, they made toys that were dangerous, but people forget the mind games and manipulation Warren (a horrible person) played on those two (vaulnerable young men, don't forget Johnathan was going to kill himself in Season 3). They …

YAS!! Buffy is my favourite show too! I'm pretty obsessed with it though, I have Faith's tattoo and I'm getting the Slayer's Scythe tattooed soon too! I've got a Man Cave full of merchindise too, from action figures (some 20 years old now!) to statues (#16/350), autographs, bits of clothing worn during filming and more! I even got to meet Nicholas Brendon last year too! If you haven't watched it already, go watch Dollhouse! It stars Eliza Dushku and was written by Joss Wheddon too. It's also one…

A man killed himself. There are no "winners" here. At best, it will be recognised what she did. But her victim isn't alive to see her being punished. No one "wins".

Download the app, hit record before you go in the class and keep your phone out of sight. Stop the recording when you get out of class. Some apps will continue to record while your phone is locked and idle, so you can literally just hit record and forget about it. Don't do anything that would bring attention to your phone, and don't tell friends that you're recording it. The recordings should be enough evidence of her misconduct because it's not an unsubstantiated claim, but rather her saying th…

Why is a chemistry teacher talking about these things in her class? Covertly record your classes (there are apps you can download on your phone, I'm currently using them because of medical negligence) and report her. If the school isn't willing to do anything, then take it further than the school.

I understand what you are saying, but you are also wrong too. Even when you are trying to access the help (medical and financial), there just isn't a support structure in place. There is help out there, but it is so hard to find and access that people just don't know how to get it. And when the information to help you is mostly targeted towards females, this further alienates men from getting help. Eventually, all you can do is maintain a facade, but that eventually breaks people which often res…

I don't drink and the responses I get about this would make people think I'd just gone out and kicked a puppy. Then they get defensive as if I'm judging them and trying to take their drink away. I don't care what people put in their bodies and once upon a time I loved a good drink. But alcohol's effect on me changed and I decided it wasn't worth me becoming a suicidal mess whenever I drank. People seem more happy to let me be a risk to myself than they are to just let me stick to my non-alcoholi…

Is this where this sub is heading? She's not doing anything to anyone else and the animals look happy and healthy. This is a case of other people sticking their nose into someone elses business (and home). She isn't playing the victim card. She's a woman with mental health problems who is managing it with these monkeys. If you wish to turn this into something that WOULD fit into the spirit of this sub, then that says more about you than it does about her. Maybe you should have spent the time res…

As a gay man myself, I care more for the problems men face than women face. Over the years I've had women try to shoe-horn me into their ideologies, try to build me up as something I'm not, and then explode when I start discussing men's issues and how those have a direct impact on my life. These issues? My mental health problems for a start, the complete lack of support available to men who go to their doctors, my suicide attempts and how there's nothing there for men to turn to when they are ne…

Yeah, it's a disgrace. I've been sent away by doctors while I was suicidal and in the middle of a panic attack. My details were put in a system wrongly, which caused a snowball effect elsewhere. No one would correct my details and resend the files, it took an Ad Hoc GP to make a phone call and have it faxed over for them to get the files. Then there were the side effects from the meds too - at one point they rendered me unable to walk. No one, until they realised just how much one member of staf…

There's a distinction though. It doesn't seem like you wanted to help so much as you thought she had been forced into a role she wasn't happy with by her husband. Wanting to help someone out is a completely different thing to calling someone sexist because they aren't helping out. But how and why is it your place to say anything at all? If they are happy and no one is being abused then it's absolutely nothing to do with you. You've got a lot of growing up to do.

What that (and your other posts, quite the interesting picture you're painting of yourself) sounds like is you don't like his dad and were assuming his wife and son would become "woke" and jump on board and shame him. Then when that didn't happen, you got defensive and declared he was sexist. What were you honestly expecting to happen by questioning people's roles and declaring he is sexist in HIS OWN HOME? Did you actually think some good would come of it and that you wouldn't look like an assh…

Why is this here? What anyone decides to wear is their choice, even those skin-tight leggings things that go see through leaving nothing to the imagination. Take your body and image shaming elsewhere, this isn't the place and frankly, no one gives a damn. We weren't the ones shaming her, the only one shaming her here is you and a female flight attendant.

I'll need to disagree. I have bipolar, my parents have been happily married for 34 years, together since around 16 years old. My mother rarely says a bad word about my dad, and vice versa. And anything they would say they'd have already have said it to each other and sorted it out. How they handled my mental health issues is a different matter though. But they have got better these last few years.

Yup! And heaven forbid a straight guy become close friends with a gay guy! I once had an old female best friend accuse me and her (straight) boyfriend of sleeping together because she didn't like how close we were. She was that paranoid she couldn't see that the reason we were so close and with each other all the time was because he was in immense emotional pain and was suicidal.

The most memorable teachers I had in school were male. Especially the science ones. My teachers love and enthusiasm for what they did pushed me to want to pursue a science based career. The female teachers? Well, when I expressed my interest in Forensic Anthropology following 9/11, I was told I had unrealistic expectations of my own abilities. It took me a long time to get my confidence back. Now, some 16 years later, I'm a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Anthropology (With Honours). How I'd lov…

Excellent! I'm sure they will put the ladies right next to the row of obese only people who require the arm rest to be down so they can fit in their seat, and spread onto yours. Of course, if this does become a thing, the women would expect to be near one of the entrances/exits so that they can be the first off! And if that doesn't happen? Well, they'll just bitch and cry about it and say it's because of the Patriarchy.

You realise that it's perfectly normal for a couple to be together and raise a family without getting married, yes? Many people choose to not get married. I'll never marry, my sister only got married because my brother-in-law was a soldier in the military prior to his stroke, and my sister and their two sons wouldn't be allowed to live in the "Married Quarters" of military camps unless they were legally married. From what I saw on Twitter, this was about the Oscars (or some award ceremony) that a black, male comedian (Kevin Hart) was going to host the show. Because of some remarks that people took as homophobic (I've not seen these, so I can't say). After an outcry, it was decided he wasn't hosting the show any longer. I had my drink spiked one night at a works Christmas party while I was at uni. I don't drink much at all, and it took a few days to fully recover from it. It was horrible, I have no idea what happened that night after 9pm. My flatmate (we didn't really get along) sat in my room and slept on my chair to keep an eye on me. Apparently I kept trying to climb out my window and it didn't have a lock on it. It's scary to think how different that could have ended.

TL:DR? Yes on wage gap. I've worked retail and door to door sales (sorry) and seen equal pay, but complained about from retail. Women work less hours. Sales, women work the same, get paid the same. No one complains of sexism. I agree with the wage gap too. I've mostly worked minimum wage jobs, in retail and sales mostly. So a good mix between male and female workers. In retail, I've had female workers complain about their pay check and ask what I got paid. It's not uncommon for me to work around…

I'm a gay guy and the groping is what turned me off from "straight" bars. If a woman knew I am gay, she suddenly made it her mission to "turn me straight". The things I've had said to me is disgusting, and I know for a fact if I were straight and said these things to a woman, I'd be slapped and arrested for it. It's even become common for it to happen in gay clubs too. When I was at uni in Freshman year, I had a few friends from my class who are gay, lesbian and bi. The lot of us would go to Gay…

TL;DR? It wasn't an insecurity thing, they'd just returned from a war zone several days before and didn't know me from passing them in the street before they left. Someone sleeping with the wives would cause huge career problems for the soldiers, and possibly stall any chance of a promotion. It sounds like that, but it really isn't like that. There's a lot that happens in the background of military life. We all hear about the soldiers (rightfully so, they're the ones putting their lives on the l…

I don't watch soaps any more, but I did watch Hollyoaks. It might be something they're going to explore in a future episode. It could be highlighting false accusations and mob mentality/justice. Hollyoaks has been running a storyline for a while where an Indian teenage male has been beating up his mum and younger sister. I was initially worried it would feed into the stereotype that Indian men abuse their women. When his actions were made public, his older brother said to him how racist people b…

And I'll not say otherwise just because it's the "accepted" thing. Long version, if you're interested lol: This is exactly it! I don't really class myself as a left/right person. I'm gay and I have a disability. While I'd be happy to see this when applying for a job, I wouldn't accept it on the grounds of me being gay and disabled. I am more than those two labels and they don't define me or what I can and can't do. I'm 30, so I'm neither young or old. Gay men might not put up with it on a personal level, but some LGBT issues (mostly equality) can line up well with the feminist "issues". There is a similar narrative surrounding them both and it was inevitable that the two groups would work together to "overthrow" the system. So while gay men might be really good friends with a Feminist and not take shit from her, the wider story of the world is that the big, bad straight men are making sure they stay on top…

Or Theresa May, Nicola Sturgeon and Arlene Foster. These three women are head of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. It infuriates me that other gay men aren't waking up to how women are using them as pawns for their own agendas. If things continue going the way they are, the next blow out will most likely be between feminists and the LGBT activists. Right now they think they are working together, but in a few years they are going to be working against each other.

I'm hoping that more gay men will wake up and see what is going on around them. And not only that, but to stop feeding into the problems for all men, gay men included. I think gay men forget we are men too and sooner or later, if things go the way they are right now, women will go after gay men too. The relationship between women and gay men isn't the big fest that you see in movies. Women use us like pawns and some refuse to accept that gay men are actually men. I don't know how many times I've…

I'm gay, and let me tell you that I always love women's reactions when they try getting me involved in their extreme anti-male discussions. Apparently, simply because I'm gay, I've suffered oppression at the hands of white, straight men. I laugh at them because I've met more evil women than I have evil men. I'm already writing a book (on mental health, from the perspective of a man, and also intended for men), but I could write several books on the things women say. I find it interesting that wo…

I have one larger story from my own experiences. It's fairly long, so I'm happy if you don't want to use it or if you want to shorten it down. I worked in a small convenience store and had been there for roughly two months by this point. One night while I was stocking the sweets near the checkouts, two female customers entered the shop. I'd seen them a few times and they must have been early 20's. I would have been 27 by this stage (I'm 30 now). While I was working away, the two females approach…

I have no idea what a "soyboy" is. You may not like the show, and that's fine, but I love it.

Exactly! Most of the "strong female characters" I see in the media lose most of their femininity. It's like the writers can't comprehend that a woman CAN be totally bad-ass and still worry and complain about breaking a nail. Heck, they can even be into fashion too. There was often a running gag in Buffy about the blood and damage done to her clothes. I think that today "strong female character" is slang for "a role that would normally be a male is now a female instead". That's not always a bad t…

I like it, but only when it's done right. Having a "strong female" character in media these days is often done just for that. My favourite show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. THAT was a show that didn't give two fucks about gender barriers. Some things in the show wouldn't fly today (people complain about it 20 years later). The latest Lara Croft (from the Origins trilogy) shows how well a female character can be developed. But it also gives more dimensions to Lara as a character too. I was glad t…

I don't typically view Pamela as someone who uses causes for fame, but rather the other way around. Whenever I have seen her campaigning things, it's never been about herself, she depersonalises herself in a way. She's actually the reason I won't eat at KFC anymore, and I'm more select in where I source my animal products from. I think that her doing this is a good thing for everyone. Especially when you take into account her own history and what she may have been exposed to.

The rape and murder of any woman should never qualify as a "Pussy Pass Denied" moment.

And yet I read the word "child" and didn't even notice the error until you pointed it out! :)

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
