Gender doesn't, it's made up. Biological sex includes different hormones, physical features, and even brain structures depending on the sex which obviously affect how you feel.

This is gonna be controversial but hear me out. Men don't have intrinsic value to society. If a man just exists but doesn't produce anything he is, in effect, a drain on the resources of everyone around him. The value men provide comes directly from the value that they produce for others through their labour, skills, perseverence and self-sacrifice. Women, however, do have intrinsic value; they are born with the ability to incubate children. This is extremely important and should be valued, not …

There's a difference between saying "Women are less aggressive than men" and "All men are rapists". While there are studies that will back up the assertion that women score lower in trait agreeablness than men, there's nothing to back up the idea that all, most, or even a lot of men are rapists. It's not a matter of having different standards, it's a matter of one position being wrong.

women are excluded from a lot of male-dominated fields such as STEM Did you know that close to 2 out of 3 post-secondary graduates is a woman? STEM is the only field of study (and not even all of it) where women don't completely dominate. Men drop out of schools at all levels at higher rates than women, are disciplined and expelled at higher rates and, recently, several studies have been published suggesting that teachers are more lenient towards females when marking, regardless of the gender of…

Sorry, not trying to be hostile to you, I've just had it up to here with the Patriarchy. The Patriarchy is the idea that there is a worldwide conspiracy, by all men, to keep women from power. Every civilization capable of agriculture has been predominantly patriarchal; so the conspiracy has existed since the beginning of recorded history. These civilizations developed in different parts of the world, independantly, and still have male rulers so there must be some sort of secret, super-advanced, …

People keep talking about "hostility" but no one posts examples... The big, obvious difference between our sub and the lion's share of the feminist subs is that we aren't outright banning people. I don't honestly care if feminists are hostile, in fact I expect it, but at least we'll hear them out.

complaining about AC is a made up feminism issue. Isn't it? How does anyone take feminism seriously when "manspreading" is their hot button issue? Oh, other than made up garbage like the so-called "gender pay gap". If your biggest issue is that you're cold at work, fine. But I work in the sun 10 hours a day and I sure as hell don't want to listen to people complain when they could just put on a damn sweater. Great point you brought up and yeah, this post is a total virtue signal. I've had conversations with women on here about all sorts of things, up to and including abortion laws, and it never got nasty. Hell, some of the most visible MRAs are women like Karen Straugh, Cassie Jaye and Dianne Davidson (and Janice Fiamenco, Bettina Arndt etc etc). Maybe it's a good bit of PR for us, but let's all recognize it for the empty pandering it is.

Basically, we reached gender equality, then parity, and then the entrenched political feminists decided to just keep going. Feminist organizations push to defund men-specific domestic violence shelters. The Duluth model is a policing theory that allows only for "penetrative" rape; men can only be victims of "sexual assault" unless they're penetrated while any non-consentual intercouse with a woman is rape as long as the perpetrator has a penis. Pay equality has to be guaranteed, even if women ar…

Who doesn't recognize the issues women face? Seriously? We, as a culture, have been discussing women's issues for half a century, starting in the 60's; reproductive rights, employment equality, gender norms, societal expectations etc etc. We're now getting down to nitpicks about how men sit on the damn subway. The only way you don't know about women's issues is if you've buried your head in the sand your whole life. This is either a terminal simp or you're trying to catfish feminists so our sub …

How about we just treat them like generalizations and not statements of fact? Many, if not most, of the generalizations we discuss here are backed by statistics (family situations, wage earning potential, legal issues). It's not wrong to generalize, it's wrong to assume everyone in a group must adhere to the generalization.

I'm in Ontario and I got full, no restriction, custody plus child support because I went to court to show she couldn't take care of the kids. I went to a lawyer and laid out my life to show that I had a stable income, healthy support network and a good home for the kids while she had no job, a drug habit and a hole in the wall. My lawyer sent her a letter, she didn't respond. I then filed for custody and she didn't even show up (which, granted, was lucky for me) so I got everything by default. T…

I remember a guy on here a few years back illustrated this pretty well. He was in the army and was being periodically raped by the wife of a commanding officer. She had told him that if he didn't have sex with her she would claim that he raped her. This would have led to the end of his career, charges, and possibly more direct "military" punishment and he, though suffering, wasn't willing to take the risk. There are a some men's issues that are apolitical, like circumscision and workplace safety, but many are directly caused by feminism. Stuff like the fact that 40% or less of college and university graduates are men, or that there are nearly no shelters or resources for male victims of DV, or the entire Duluth model of policing, are directly attributable to feminism.

I posit that feminist ideas actually increase the prevalence of rape. Feminism has been pushing, for decades, for "free love". That is to say, consequence free sex. Before that, women had to be very careful when engaging sexually because of pregnancy and it was in their best interest to form pair-bonds, another idea frequently attacked by feminists. The two main ways animals arrange sex between two individuals are pair-bonds and tournaments. Pair bonding species (seahorses, penguins, ducks) will…

He decided to have sex, he should take responsibility for the consequences. We don't know how old this guy is but, unless the woman is a total creep (possible), he's likely 30+. He's not some stupid kid that doesn't know better, he's more likely to be some kind of self-styled "player" who hooks up with random women, without a condom if possible, and runs to his mommy to bail him out of trouble when the fun gets real. This is exactly the kind of punk that should be forced to pay child support.
/r/MensRights13/06/20 01:00 PM

Agreed. While we should be sympathetic to men in unfair situations, we shouldn't be making excuses for bad decisions. It's telling that his mother is the one asking for her to have the abortion; probably been "protecting" him from his reckless behaviour his whole life and his dad is either a cuck or not even in the picture. We should be holding men to take responsibility. Like you say, this guy should be doing something to help, even if it isn't child support. Guys like this, running away from t…

Yes, it should. If you are stupid with your money, you could lose your home. If you are stupid with a chainsaw, you could lose a limb. If you are stupid with your dick, you could wind up with a child. None of this should be surprising to anyone. If we, the MRA community, are serious about actually helping men, fatherless families are one of the biggest issues we face, if not the biggest. A major cause is opposing the feminist-marxist ideology around "non-traditional" family structures, which inc…

Agreed. Assuming this story is true, this dude decided to have a one night stand with a rando, without a condom, and expects her to get an abortion cause he doesn't want the kid. Grow up and take responsibility. We already know that the family justice system is stacked against men. The hookup culture that this enables is also stacked against men; women can time-share the top 1% of guys for sex without forming partnerships, have a kid whenever they want and get child support easily, and file fals…

So, even though someone like Clementine Fors claims to be a feminist, and others claiming to be feminists say she is too, her saying things like "Not enough men died" automatically disqualifies her? That's basically saying "feminists can do no wrong and if they do they aren't feminists".

Speech is a human right (where I live anyway), Twitter is one of the largest speech platforms in the world and habitially censors men for saying stuff not half as bad as this. This self-professed feminist is calling for violence against a specific group, clearly within Twitter's definition of "hate speech", while being verified by Twitter. We're not going for "total equity". As you say, that's a feminist myth. We know the sexes are different and accept that. We understand that men are choosing to work more dangerous jobs, largely, because the increased money and status offsets the danger and discomfort for them while it doesn't for most women, who value and avoid these factors differently, on the average. The problem is not a lack of total equity. It's that calls to work on real issues, like workplace deaths, are drowned out by va…

For the workplace deaths, absolutely. As an example, take residential roofing. There is no evidence to either side. That article states that there were unruly young men pushing women and the weak; where's the evidence? Even if true, the article also mentions poor-coordination and gaps in coverage; how did they address these, their own, problems? Reading between the lines, they didn't. They stopped giving food to men to make coordination easier and to stretch supplies. They give no data at all whether or not women are still being attacked or used by these men to get extra f…

Semi-serious question: are there any self-described feminists who talk about the responsibilities of women (other than "smash the patriarchy")? Men are responsible for their children; women can abort or rely on the government. Men are responsible for all the physically arduous, dangerous and just gross jobs; women need to be protected from micro-aggressions. Men are responsible for stable relationships and are expected to look past physical imperfection (and even gender), while women are entitle…

Anecdotal for sure, and a gross generalization, but I gotta agree; most of the kids being raised by single Mom's I know are arrogant, entitled and couldn't make themselves lunch if you handed them a 20 and pointed them at a McDonalds. Not all. I know a single Mom who works and takes care of three kids with no help; two of them have learning difficulties to boot. They're great kids though; helpful, respectful and fun to be around. So this observation might be statistical more than anything. OTOH,…

As a corolary, I think there are many people ignorantly calling themselves feminists who've just been indoctrinated; like all the westerners who went off to join ISIS and got enslaved or the guys who gave their KKK hoods to Daryl Davis because they'd never actually spoken to a black guy before. Of course not, for every teacher employed now there are probably 1 and a half supply teachers or recent graduates; all as qualified as the teachers leaving and willing to work less. There's a huge labour glut because everyone wants to be a teacher (women at least). The big problem I see with teachers is that there's no competitiveness or hierarchy of competence; it's all based on time worked and there's no alternative employer. You are correct, this is a guide to dismantling feminist talking points. This is important because feminism is the greatist threat to men today. It's been ingrained into all of our public institutions to the point that we don't even realize it's influence. Further to the programming point, a lot of early programming involved relatively unskilled labour like punching cards. As the field progressed and shortcuts were found more work could be done by less people but requiring more skill. I would also argue that more men were attracted to the field due to the increasing pay and prestige, as men tend to value these things more than women. One thing about the general argument that I'd point out is that when women entered the work force en-mass it create…

To be accurate (and risk downvotes) our SOCIETY is sexist towards men and, as we approach globalism, it feels more and more like the world. I would argue that, biologically speaking, the world is sexist against women. They're physically weaker, have to suffer through childbirth and bleed out the genitals for several days a month. Without the benefits that social order and male goodwill grant them, it's a pretty crappy deal. Me? I can pee anywhere, anytime on anything; I'm not complaining :)

I see what you may be trying to say but your conclusion is off. Men matter as human beings in that they have intrinsic, individual value, same as women. I think this is a demographic concern, rather than anything against individual women who may well be able to operate without a safety net. The example that comes to mind is child support/child tax credits. It's not controversial to say that women having kids need support (emotional, financial, physical and medical; having a kid is a big deal). Traditionally that support would come from a husband but sometimes the husband couldn't (or wouldn't) take care of his family amd they suffered. Maybe a c…

The reason is that it blows a huge hole in the "equality of outcome" position. If we know that (the best) men are usually going to beat (the best) women at sports without some kind of handicap, why should we assume that men and woman will always have equal results in the workplace, or academia? This means that the onus is back on feminism to show that there is actual, provable, discrimination when outcomes differ instead of just assuming that any difference in results must be because of systemic…

I think it's a lot lower than that but it's pretty irrelevant. The most privileged group today is literally referred to as "The 1%". It doesn't matter how many there are (in fact it's usually worse when less people have more power), what matters is how they wield their power.

Because in the end, when you get a partner you love, it's 2 of you against the ˝world˝, and I think most women and men see it that way. You'd think that. But look at all these 40-something feminists bemoaning the "lack of good men". You know why? All the smart men are pairing up, permanently, with a non-psychotic woman or simply saying "Nah, not worth it". The MGTOWs will take care of themselves (and hopefully each other), become better people, and either find a tradWife in her 20s or find meaning in life without a woman. If you really want to reduce male suicide, getting them to talk about their feelings won't make a difference. Men have been reticent about their feelings for thousands of years, and haven't felt the need to kill themselves at the rate we're seeing today. I wish companies would just drop the 'social responsibility' facade. Their goal is to make money. We know it, they know it, heck, the law mandates it. If Google's CEO wants to make a statement or donation around some social cause, fine. If individual employees want to do this, they should be able to without fear of reprisal. Doesn't mean I'm trying to have a kid everytime I have sex but if something unexpected happens, which it always could, I'm prepared. Not to vilify it but sex is dangerous with serious and long term reprecussions. Rather than saying sex is 'normal and healthy' I'd say sex is powerful and leave it at that.

An aquaintance of mine had an argument with his then-gf. It ended and he sat down to play some video games. A few hours later she walks up behing him with a wooden cutting board and hits him as hard as she can in the back of the head. Knocked him out right there. Not the only time she absued him either.

I don't have to listen to any bullshit about mansplaining, menspreading, or any other attempt to keep me from expressing myself to the fullest. When a man is around women he constantly needs to be careful he doesn't say or do something that makes them feels scared that they're going to be patronized, insulted, trivialized, assaulted, raped or murdered (unless the man has been so immasculated that he's no longer capable of these things). When a man is around other men, he can be as loud as he wan…

Bud, 'manning up' is the reason you live in a house and not a cave. It's the reason we have electricity and running water instead of having to live near rivers and sleep when it's dark. Civilization does not get built, nor is it maintained, without lots of people 'manning up'. The problem is that a man making a sacrifice for others no longer gets respect, instead he's told he's a pawn of 'toxic masculinity'. Now, it's true to some extent that being strong makes it hard to make friends. There's a…

Maybe there are a lot of men who've been told that they shouldn't have to ask for help because they don't have problems, y'know, male privilege and all? I mean, I agree that you should ask for help when you need it but I only really figured that out at 30 because for my entire life up til then my attempts to get help were ignored. Even now, I only get help when I can trade for it with something else of value. That includes parents, teachers, neighbors, you name it. There are some exceptions to t…

I don't know why we can't, there are so many female only spaces. My local community center has a Women's Group, Women's Drop-in, Girls Art and periodic Women in STEM programs. That's not including programming geared towards women that men can participate in if they like, like Baby Days or programs that only apply to women, like prenatal groups. I work in a field that's so physically demanding that women don't even apply so I work almost exclusively with men. It's so liberating. I've made some of…

This is what I see anecdotally; women are either self-sufficient and alone, are taken care of by men, their family, or the government (economically at least). I know lots of women, some take care of themselves, some take care of kids but I don't know a single one that takes care of a man.

Interesting, I'd forgotten the whole bromance thing. While I think the term 'bromance' is fairly shyte, I could definitely see more men entering into non-sexual relationships. There are numerous advantages; more similar goals, better understanding of each other's emotions, likely higher combined earning power, tolerance or even encouragement of sexual promiscuity. Frankly, women in general are making themselves more inaccessible to men, outside of casual sex, and with divorce rates and the housi…

There's this weird cognitive dissonance in radical progressives. They start by claiming that the straight, white, cis, man has been oppressing basically everyone else for the entirety of history, then they talk like they want to start a war with sides drawn up along the lines of identity groups. How do they rationalize this? It's like, do you seriously think you'd win if straight, cis, white men weren't making focused efforts to share their prosperity with you? What, we oppressed you for all of …

Because feminism has been demanding that women be 'freed' from their traditional gender roles for decades now, largely successfully, while men are still supposed to follow male gender roles. It's hypocracy. Either both men and women should be held responsible for their own gender roles or they should be allowed to choose on their own without coersion. Allowing women to drop their gender roles (without expecting them to fulfil men's roles) while simultaneously enforcing male gender roles on men m…

What exactly does forced mean? Like pure physical force? Or does it mean tricking her into saying she consents? Cause that's what grooming is; a very common technique used by pedophiles to create the illusion of consent by using their position of authority and status as an adult to trick the kid into thinking that what is happening is ok.

Does he have the mental capacity to enter a legally binding contract? I'm sure if you offered 11 year old kids credit cards as 'get stuff now, pay for it later' deals they'd also 'consent'. That doesn't mean they fully understand what they're getting into or have the capacity to handle the consequences. How, exactly, is an 11 year old supposed to deal with a pregnancy? That is not only an extremely likely outcome of sex, but it's entire reason for being. How would they deal with an STD? Or even …

Expanding on this, they're literally saying that white peole just have it better than non-whites because of their skin colour and that this fact is immutable. While there's going to be negative consequences for white (whatever that means) people, like internalized guilt or even a sense of unearned superiority and complacency, think about non-white people and the message they're getting. "You will be at a disadvantage whenever you compete against whites unless they decide to take pity on you". Th…

You need to apply for your specific privilege card. Usually you can get them the same place you renew your drivers license (eg Service Ontario). I've had mine a few years now, it's pretty great. There's 'abled' seating on the buses, right up at the front so you don't have to climb over scooters and strollers and stuff. Did...did you just reply to your own comment? Aside from that, I find your arguments odd. Like, do you not think we should be concerned if boys are being taught that they're toxic in public schools because it doesn't affect us anymore? Or that we shouldn't be concerned about boys dropping out at much higher rates than girls because we all have jobs now? Do you think female genital mutilation is fine? If not, why should boys be subject to a procedure that's deemed harmful to girls? The only reaso…

That's kind of how it goes; if men are always oppressors then nothing they say has value. It's not too different from Suffrage; women made noise but it required men who could already vote to change things.

Except, because of #metoo, men are starting to refuse to mentor women out of fear they'll be accused of impropriety. I wouldn't be surprised if men in these companies start looking at 'a pair of tits and a pretty face' as something to be avoided like the plague; whether they be on a vendor, manager or trainee. And so it comes full circle back to Victoria puritanism.

My school did exactly this. For the final project, sort of a mini-thesis where students had to research, design, and implment a working prototype related to their field including write-ups and a showcase demonstrating the prototype, the program that had been working with the overseas students was forced to make groups where half of the students were from overseas. But then, if a boss gives an unqualified woman a bad review, you'll get lawsuits alledging gender discrimination and employers will be scared of giving negative references, or just stop giving them all together. There really is no upside here, for anyone.

Agreed, while this is painted as helping women it's actually undercutting the women who make the cut as well as setting the women who wouldn't make the cut otherwise up for failure. What happens when they get into schools but can't keep up with the workload and start dropping out? Easier tests and lower standards? What happens when they enter the workforce? Will companies be forced to hire them to maintain diversity standards, even though they're unqualified? My greatest fear for MRA movements i…

women DO seek those dirty jobs, but there are several factors behind why there are less of them than men. One is gender determination, or the idea that men should have “masculine jobs” and women should have “feminine jobs”, which is exactly the kind of thing feminists are seeking to undo. We can see this bias on both sides of the interview desk, thus becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. So, women want to work dirty jobs, but also don't want to work dirty jobs because they're been brainwashed by …

At least there are noticable numbers of women in STEM; it generally involving cushy inside work and all. Let's talk about trades. Skilled trades, especially in construction, are jobs that are the least affected by discrimination of any job you could name. By this I mean that they will hire literally anyone. No high school? No references? 16? Criminal record? Need time off because you are still serving your sentence? Not a problem if you can show up and do the job. And if you can't get hired you …

I agree, even if all expenses are paid, just the act of raising a kid (or kids) alone is extremely difficult; I would argue harder than maintaining a career. Unless you have people supporting you, you don't get time off, ever. You are responsible for everything: education, nutrition, socialization, hygeine, discipline and the list goes on. Even just getting a periodic reality check to make sure you aren't acting like an insane dictator or backup so you aren't outnumbered (or if you are, you have…

$1000 a month doesn't make you a 'dependent of the welfare system' though. I was getting more than that before my ex left, I get a little less now, and it's less than I make on my own. It enables me to cover babysitting and maybe the extra I'm paying for space for the kids. If I didn't have it, things would change but we would get by. I get your point, about the hypocracy, but I think you're missing the bigger point that we shouldn't be celebrating independence in parents, period. We should feel…

men have been conditioned from birth to sacrifice themselves for the "greater good" This can be a bit tricky; how can you tell whether society has conditioned men to be this way or society has adapted to the way men are, physiologically speaking? This is important as your reaction has very different connotations depending on whether men sacrificed themselves because they are asked to versus sacrificing themselves due to an intrinsic instinct. If men are being asked (or forced) by society to sacr…
