Im having the same problem when reading novels. The guys are always awkward, weak submissive and the women confident, take charge and just “normal” while all the guys(male leads) are more incel like. I read chinese novels because its less mainstream there, the male leads are often normal(ie. Competent and take charge)

Yeah im a software developer and half my job is socializing with people (which i am good at) as a consultant, so its kind of a niche market cause most devs are socially awkward. But thanks for the advice, im def going to do interviews before i move.
