Going through something very similar right now except dragged out even longer. It keeps me up at night thinking about what went wrong and why, trying to put all the clues together. It’s the worst thing in the world and I would rather they just told me they thought I was a POS over text so I could move on quicker.

When I posted pics here everyone said I was pretty good looking. If in spite of that I’m still a virgin and haven’t had a real relationship before, is it reasonable to assume my personality is just ways worse than the average person, at least in terms of one that will attract women?

I can really only offer my perspective on what mothers are like. I know not everyone is like this, nor every dad telling their is kid to man up all the time. I think generally the conditioning to bottle up emotions comes from men earlier in life, but starting sometime in your teens comes more from women, because thats when men start to have their illusions around women shattered.

My mom didn't get the memo. If my issues couldn't be fixed quickly, she often had an extremely low regard for them, even to the point of derision for my tears. I believe she thought I was being overdramatic as a kid which I could understand but truly, I was a deeply unhappy kid and later teenager for a lot of reasons.
