Prices are worse now than during the pandemic because inflation basically never goes negative unless there is a serious economic problem. Companies know people can afford the extra so they kept the prices high. They are given old and expiring weapons and equipment (which would actually cost money to dodos of), which is then backfilled by purchasing new equipment from American arms companies, which generates more jobs and grows american companies. Whilst you're correct in saying the side effects were similar during the trial, the difference was in frequency. The men in the trial presented with the most serious side effects at a significantly higher rate than women taking the pill.
