Yeah but like, a medical one

Hey, thanks for engaging in actual constructive and dispassionate discourse. Really one of the better conversations I've had with another Reddit user, maybe ever! TGIF.

I think you’re right, I think it’s correlated. In the absence of being able to actually read behavior (or really, understand women) I think some guys default to history paired with sloppy statistics. Put it this way, if I’m dating a girl and she doesn’t really exhibit behaviors that are concerning for monogamy (behaviors like excess attention on social media, really contextual behavior like acting one way with me and another around others, lying vaguely or gaslighting, telling me who she is and …

Sure, I think norms can and do evolve. And I think the norms related to female promiscuity have changed rapidly and will continue to. But I don’t think it’s binary, it’s a spectrum, and I’m not sure that the “correct” place to be is all the way at either end. And ultimately correct is subjective and arbitrary anyway... But in western culture, I think the pendulum with this topic, and other things related to traditional gender roles, has swung a bit past center and is moving still further out of …

I also have judgements about social norms, but that doesn’t make them more or less true. It’s kind of like, Don’t get mad at me, because I didn’t invent the world, but people don’t inherently respect or value the act of female promiscuity. Obviously. Whether that’s how it should be is another discussion... why that is is another discussion... how we could improve that dynamic is another... but none of those change the first thing being true.

I don’t think this is going anywhere. Cheers!

Actually great comment and I agree. I see this stat a lot and there’s just a million reasons why it is bullshitty. My guess is it correlates to strict religious households which probably causes/correlates to low divorce.

Because they are completely different experiences, and so people judge them and think of them as if they were completely different experiences.

Honestly, if you don’t already kinda get how the experiences involved with “going out to get laid” are vastly different depending on whether you’re a man or a woman, then we’re probably not gonna agree here. But just in case you’re actually asking... off the top of my head: I’ve never seen a guy’s tinder with just pages of unanswered messages from attractive, seemingly successful women. Every girl whose Tinder I’ve seen has pages of unanswered messages from matches like that. Those experiences a…

Because dating dynamics are clearly asymmetric

Doesn’t really bother me, but the equivalent for gals would be finding out that the guy they’re dating used to indiscriminately propose to any girl that gave him any positive attention. Doesn’t make you feel like you really won much of a prize, or that you’re very special, since he offered it to any woman that let him? I dunno, something like that. Still nbd really to me but I could see why it would be. And yes, there’s probably some correlation between anxiety about a girl’s sexual past and ins…

My go to mental exercise is trying to imagine a pinnacle SMV dude doing the thing, and if I can’t imagine it or it’s ridiculous then don’t do the thing. Ok so Ezekiel Elliot let’s say... in what world is he ASKING some chump to PLEASE stop texting his girl? None, because guys like that are never gonna place the solution to their problem within someone else’s power.

I'm in sales. The people that can be sold and have been sold in the past feel insecure about it, and as we know insecurity is loud. Thus, "I am not going to buy anything today." The people that actually aren't going to be sold don't need to tell you.

Any! I'm saying it's more about doing something(s) really right than being preoccupied with doing something "wrong." Being decisive in any form is attractive to women. What's "wrong" is completely contextual (like how what she considers creepy changes depending on the dude saying it).
/r/seduction05/04/17 08:36 PM

Nah I think it has more to do with action than inaction. Your sentence supposes the opposite. Be polarizing. Take action.

Yeah, agreement with you on all that stuff. I think the distinction of "if you're a genuinely nice guy" is different than "if you're genuinely a nice guy(tm). I'm obviously not defending the nice guy caricature, but just pointing out that you don't need to be a fuck wad to get laid, and one step further, I'm not really down with the mindset that "I'll reward her with kindness once she deserves it." It's a free currency, give it out freely, stop when they DON'T deserve it.

Totally agreed. You gotta genuinely embrace who you are and what your personality is, success lies on that road. I had a girl not too long ago I met for drinks at a bar go "you can't possibly be this nice." and we went home together not long after. If you're a genuinely nice guy (which is a vague, broad word) be that. You can absolutely be nice and attract women. You can't be a shy, mumbling, unconfident mess though. You can't be at all hung-up on fitting whatever it is she likes, or you'll just…

Thankfully, as you said, you're not speaking for all women. That's as far into your comment as anyone needs to read.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
