Yeah unfortunately I think women who have been victimized in the past walk around with targets on their backs because abusive men can read the signs pretty easily

Every “playboy” I’ve been involved with has gotten weirdly possessive and jealous as soon as they realized I wasn’t invested. It’s all an act lmao

There’s that as well, but that’s not what I’m talking about. The girls/women I’m referring to are definitely not innocent or sweet and they certainly don’t act like it, but men can still tell they have a history, in fact they try to tease it out of them pretty early

That’s so true, I’ve heard in countless ways men around me saying some version of, “we don’t know what she did to piss him off, let’s mind our own business.”

When I was working at an obgyn clinic, the nurses would all giggle that they already knew what the “carpet” would look like based on if the mom was Latina or not. I guess body hair is less acceptable in that community?

This is exactly it— and of course the libfem narrative gaslights us from the start, making us think we’re being irrational and unreasonable for simply expecting a functioning adult to be able to do a small amount of reasonable introspection. ‘Oh of course he doesn’t know it bothers you when he cuts you off in the middle of a sentence! How could he? He’s not a miNd rEaDEr, for all he knows you’re actually upset about his blatantly staring at your waitresses ass! (which would be completely fine of…

There’s never any guarantees when dealing with men, any one of them could be a predator and it’s so easy for them to hide in plain sight

Idk I’ve lived about half my life on either side and I haven’t noticed any fundamental differences except that the East coast is a lot more conservative
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/04/21 11:54 PM

That’s how I am too. I don’t bother with the “customer service” persona so many women feel they have to put on, in fact it makes me a bit ill when I see other women doing it, but I absolutely go out of my way to help those in need, and I never make anyone’s job harder than it has to be. Nice is overrated.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/04/21 11:41 PM
25

Besides all of that, you can’t declare yourself a kind person lol. That’s not something you can objectively evaluate about yourself unless you’re giving some kind of direct examples of your “kindness.” What have you done that classifies you as a “kind” person? Do you volunteer at a homeless shelter? Do you foster ageing dogs? Do you mentor at-risk youths? Or do you just hold doors open for women you want to fuck?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/04/21 11:38 PM
7

But also— there is no “defying age,” it’s an inborn function of living things to age, and there’s nothing wrong with aging as you grow up. I sure as hell don’t think the way I did when I was 20, why should I look that way as well? There’s so many more important facets to my existence as a human being than just fuckablility and bearing children, why should those be the only things that define me when I look in the mirror? I find new greys occasionally and I’m proud of them. I’ve lived, I’ve lost,…

Yeah that’s very true, predatory men can tell when you’re afraid of them, they see it in your body language, the nervous laughter, the way your voice gets quieter when they speak over you, etc. They tailor themselves to their target, which is why it’s so important to cut them off immediately when you recognize them for what they are, and keep your guard up while dating. I have multiple friends with pretty traumatic histories with men and abuse, and somehow these scrotes can just smell it on them…

The discussion about not dumping your past trauma on men, and not telling them that you’ve been treated poorly in the past is so important. Imo the reason LVM treat women based on how past men have treated them is because they evaluate the woman’s worth based on how her previous partners have valued her, like if someone is selling a car for $20K, you probably won’t go an buy it for $40K. That’s how they see us unfortunately, and they’re such sheep that they value strange men’s opinions over thei…

When I was in college, I had a male friend who was in a few of my classes, he flirted with me a bit but I never really took it seriously and I had a boyfriend either way. One evening we were hanging out and I was about to break off and head to a friends house a few blocks off of campus. It was in a slightly seedy area of town so I asked him if he wouldn’t mind walking with me a few blocks as it was much later than I’d anticipated, and he turns to me and says, “No. I aint your boo” and skips off …

I don’t think the willingness to murder strangers is an accurate landmark for abusive men. I know several abusers who would never hurt a fly outside of a romantic relationship (and several more still who have never touched a woman to hurt her). Misogynists don’t see women as equals, as they do other men, they see them as property.

That’s awful, and what she’s describing is “binging and purging” of Bullemia. In popular belief the “purging” is synonymous with vomiting, but there’s several types of purging behaviors, including; pro-colonics, diuretics, starvation, exercise, etc. any kind of “weight loss” or “undoing” behaviors to make up for it.

While that was certainly true of medical trials a few decades past, the current medical guidelines for USDA approval require gender, age, ethnicity, and race to be controlled for. Pfizer (like all of the covid vaccines) has concluded phase III trials successfully with these milestones in mind study linked here However, long term and rare side effects can only be determined via phase IV trials, which can last for years, so we don’t yet have that data. If you’re experiencing something you believe …

Yes I’ve definitely seen those patterns in both my abusive exs and other men. There’s a cycle of shame and ego and jealousy and lust which is all intermingled. They see a woman who is flourishing and thus they want her, but at the same time they seek to dominate her. I’ll have to read up on Dutton’s work, sounds interesting.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/04/21 08:10 PM
13

I guess I should clarify what I meant— not that abusive men target less intelligent or less accomplished women, but rather once an abusive man feels secure with his hold over a woman he will actively begin to discourage her from displaying any intelligence or skills which might make him feel less accomplished. Men like that like to live in the fantasy that they’re better than every woman simply as a consequence of their sex, and all the better if she’s brilliant and successful to begin with
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/04/21 06:28 PM
14

That’s true, men like that will never see us a “real” people. To them humans are men, and women are men-lite, a pale imitation but more aesthetically pleasing.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/04/21 06:21 PM
138

Well as others have pointed out, there’s layers to this. One is that controlling men don’t like intelligent women, and the women they’re with might be brilliant, but if they’re lost in the fog of an abusive controlling relationship relationship they may find that playing dumb is the best way to keep him happy and calm. She might actually be miserable most of the time, but knows from experience that acting miserable will only make it worse.

A big issue with “therapists” is that the qualifications can vary from PhD/MD all the way to 6-month online course.. the level of clinical experience and expertise one can reasonably acquire in anything less than a 2 year masters degree is on par with a decent hairdresser. I have quite a bit of experience in the mental health field and I constantly have (mostly women) complaining that they tried therapy but it didn’t work because their therapist either said something horribly judgmental or gave …

Men who purchase sex are sexual criminals tbh. Not only do they very clearly know (mostly) that the woman would never touch them if she weren’t getting paid, but they like that. I’ve heard so many stories of women who were raped or violated and then had cash thrown at them as though that absolved the man. I’m sure everyone’s heard a “money’s on the nightstand” or “cabfair” joke as well which are essentially just rape jokes without the word.

I hate when men claim that these are things we have control over. To a certain extent, sure we can be healthy and work out, but no amount of working out is going to give you a fat IG ass, or hourglass shape. It makes me even angrier when pickmes online make comments about how they went up a cup size by doing pushups— no the fuck you didn’t, if it were true your arms would be jacked too, the only one working hard is your surgeon, stop lying. I don’t think they truly believe that, but they do realize that most of these girls are young, inexperienced, and strapped for cash. They realize that they can push boundaries pretty far with these girls before they get cut off because the boundaries are so vague to begin with. But the most dangerous ones are those who hate their mothers. Two of my ex’s had awful relationships with their moms, and regularly talked trash about them, claiming childhood abuse (possibly true idk) but later I found out that they were huge mommas boys on the dl, and just mad that their moms didn’t continue to baby them or that they reached a breaking point somehow. My mamasboi NVM ex used to literally eat a Wendy’s burger for dinner every single day, eat lunch at his work cafeteria (probably also a burger) and skip breakfast. If he was feeling like a change he’d order the cheapest greasiest pizza he could find. Eventually I got sick of pretending to not be hungry and cooked a few meals there myself. He later told me that he’d told him mom what a good cook I was, and when she’d responded by asking, “then why are you still so skinny,” he’d laughed with her. …

they trace the operations of the mind with the iron pen of fate, and tell us not only what powers are within, but how they have been employed Not only beautifully said, but an excellent point. Besides the fetal antigen sensitivity, another theory is that it’s caused by the rapid stretching of the skin and exposure of dermal proteins which are usually completely protected by the epidermis which may cause a hypersensitivity reaction. Truth is we don’t know the real cause yet, but topical steroid creams are supposed to be very effective.

Just in case anyone’s interested, this condition has recently been renamed to PEP (Polymorphic Eruption of Pregnancy), and the fetal-antigen sensitivity is only one theory which has been postulated because they noticed a link between the condition and carrying a male fetus.

I can sympathize with that, because we’re constantly judged and condescended to whenever we speak about being in abusive relationships. For some reason women are held responsible for their male partner’s behavior, as if he were her child. He’s stepping out? She must be frigid. He’s a belligerent drunk? She must be a nag. He’s a spineless sad sack? She must be a harpy. He’s a sloppy man child? She must not have trained him well etc. etc.

I’m sure there’s an element of emotional abuse which led me to crave their approval but even in my darkest pickme days I could tell my efforts were wasted and that it only made them see me as desperate rather than in love. And this is why we have to focus on leveling financially and educationally. Our mothers and grandmothers fought to the death for our right to own our own bank accounts, and to be treated as equals in the workplace and to vote for politicians who fight for our rights as well. These are our most precious weapons against the patriarchy. We may never be as big or strong or carefree as them, but we can hold our own now, and we should.

People are shocked because most of them subscribe to the ‘just world fallacy’. This is also the reason that almost every time someone comes across a dead body they say that they thought it was a mannequin at first, or why they victim blame. They just don’t believe in their heart of hearts that bad things can happen to good people, or innocent people. They give men especially the benefit of the doubt despite the overwhelming amount of evidence to suggest it should be the other way around.

Okay, respectfully I have to disagree here. I have over a decade of experience in the mental health field, and I have a friend with BPD, as well as a male ex, and I know for a fact that they suffered greatly from it. Listening to her story and the stories of other women who have had similar experiences, I fully believe her when she says that serial killers are a lot more common than we think. I truly believe that strict policing and sentencing of men who commit crimes against women, children and animals would stop so many budding serial killers in their tracks and lead to a much safer society for us all, but of course those groups don’t have the monetary power that rich men do.

That article has no citations for its claim that withholding sex is a common abuse tactic— it’s essentially an opinion piece by a layperson. While the vehicle might have been sex for this particular person, the actual abuse was emotional. Abusers traumatize their victims and then trauma-bond with them afterwards, often through sex or other forms of romantic intimacy in order to foster a false sense of love. That stage never lasts for long, and the victim is constantly yearning for it as a result…

Wonderful journalism! This is a really great look at the life of a SW in a “protected” country where SW is legal but buying is criminalized, yet the same problems present themselves. Ew.. glad you dumped him— what a piece of shit, dating women who make less than him then effectively punishing them for it? Douchebag. He sounds like the type who brags about sleeping with his med students. There’s plenty of men like him in medicine— which is why I’ll die alone on my pile of money :3

I think in certain cases it’s because misogynistic men want to look “alpha” when they’re out in public, particularly on a date, and they feel that waiting around uselessly or (god forbid) helping their date with her bag or coat would detract from that image, so they just zoom off knowing that she’s going to have to follow. It’s not just disrespectful and egotistical, but it’s just purely pathetic.

The thing that always gets me about that story is that the shooter attempted to apply to the school of engineering multiple times, but he was told he didn’t have the proper qualifications, and to come back when he did. Did he do that? Nope. He went online and raged about how women were “stealing” engineering spots that should be reserved for men.. typical worthless, entitled incel.

Holy shit, I wonder if you actually dated my ex because this story lines up so perfectly with mine, including the constant accusations and weird threats, and even damaging my car on purpose (he would have done worse but I intervened in time and pointed at the cameras). I think you’ve hit at the heart of the issue. These women are both available, and would be out of their league if it weren’t for their single mum status (according to their calculus), but RP men hate any reminder that they don’t sexually “own” their SO entirely, so it’s a catch-22 for them. So of course they blame the woman for their frustration.

It certainly is. It’s missing all of the details that would realistically be included by a person who’d not only been duped and betrayed by the two people closest to her, but any emotional details whatsoever. She doesn’t feel even the slightest bit conflicted about her realization that she doesn’t care about her husband’s infidelity? Or her sister’s duplicity? Did she see this coming? Was she blindsided? Yes! Children need logical and predictable boundaries in order to feel emotionally secure, otherwise they’ll feel like their “rewards” are based solely on how hard the “fight for” them. A predictable, and unchangable “no” is necessary for emotional maturity. Of course there will always be exceptions, and you should hear their arguments, but they should understand that some things are unreasonable and unrealistic, and emotional manipulation doesn’t work.

Upper middle class is usually defined as wealthy professionals, such as business executives, doctors, lawyers etc but not rich enough to be “wealthy” like CEOs or property magnates. They still earn most of their money from their income, (which is loosely between 100K-500K iirc but don’t quote me on it) Edit: apparently it’s more like 80-300K depending on the size of the family Edit: here’s an article https://money.usnews.com/money/personal-finance/family-finance/articles/where-do-i-fall-in-the-a…

My ex came from a very poor family, but on top of attending extremely difficult intro science classes at uni, he joined a work-study program so he could afford to take me out. Huh? I’ve only ever seen the opposite. Most of us recognize that incels won’t be “cured by sex” the way they want everyone to think, their real problem is misogyny and narcissism. Besides just the fact that this is almost certainly doomed to failure— it’s a shitty thing to do. It makes women uncomfortable and unsafe. Well what’s misogynistic about it is that if they had the option of changing absolutely nothing about themselves and still getting more dates, they would absolutely do that, because they don’t really believe that they’re the problem. They know that’s impossible so they change the most superficial things possible in order to project an air of improvement and well-being rather than actually believing in or committing to it. Their philosophy is essentially a how-to-catfish guide, and not actual sel…

Okay, I was actually going to make a separate post about this, but if you’re even remotely interested in political dramas or world events, you’ll thank me. Go watch Madam Secretary, it’s on Netflix right now. It’s about a woman who becomes the Secretary of State and how she handles various diplomatic kurfuffles. It’s equal parts serious, funny, cute and nerdy, and is really fun to watch from even just a policy perspective because it gets into a lot of actual contemporary issues, BUT it’s also he…

Men are the default in our society, and men’s experiences are the default as well. Even us women have to speak to and about each other through the lens of how we come off to men. It’s demeaning and disgusting. I’m glad this sub is pushing back with our own terminology borne of experiences. There need to be words to describe a man who hangs out with sexists/abusers because they’re nice to him, or a man who dates much younger/inexperienced women for the social clout, or a man who dates/married for…

Yeah, as someone who’s worked in a “service” type industry for decades, 90% of the harassment and entitlement comes from gross old men, and they’re not shy about using their size to intimidate or threaten either. Women on the other hand rarely complain, and when they do I’m never afraid of physical violence. The fact that the term for this phenomenon is the most popular women’s name of the previous generation is very telling.

I read Why Does He Do That and it opened my eyes with each and every chapter. It felt like being completely validated and horrified at the same time, because somewhere deep down I always held on to the hope that maybe he truly couldn’t help himself. There was a part in there about how abusers hide their true nature, and further isolate their victims by being able to do a 180 shift and leaving their victim to look sulky and irritable for seemingly no reason. My dad did exactly this to my mom and …

My dad was like that too, but he wouldn’t cry, just go off an pout while giving us the silent treatment as though we’re the ones who just called him degrading names and beat him black and blue. In fact I think he expressed at one point that it makes him angry that we make him hurt us which makes him feel bad about himself because obviously he’s the good guy he just can’t control his feels 🤷🏽‍♀️

I disagree that some women are “Hoopties.” And deserve to be treated worse. All women have value, some just don’t realize it, and accept poor treatment. I also don’t like the idea that you have to “pay more” for better “performance” what the hell is that? You’re not ”paying” to purchase the woman of your choice, you’re “paying” because you value the happiness and security of your partner. There will be a time in every woman’s life where she has to choose between a relationship with someone else and her relationship with herself, and if she can’t put the latter first the former will eventually fail* as well. *spoilers* I hate-watched this all the way through, and >! his “excuse” for leading her on, nearly destroying her chances at marriage, lying to her about pregnancy, and then nearly abandoning her forever is that ‘his daddy was mean to him ☹️’ lol. I broke up with him and started messaging all of them screenshots of his desperate instance that they meant nothing and disparaging remarks about their looks etc. I wish someone had warned me about him when we first met, so I did that for them.
