Wow, thank you for all of this practical help. It certainly gives me a good place to start from. Areas of Improvement: you don't have enough outside social things going on I actually did have a lot going on, but it was mostly activities I was just "meh" about. And that meant being around him was the highlight of my day/week/etc. It would have benefitted me to invest in more meaningful, fun activities outside of him and feel secure in my own life. boring and narrow personality because I was so ne…

Do you think it’s worth asking the guy that just rejected me what happened? The reason I ask is because the majority of the men I end up falling for actually end up in relationships while I like them. It’s not that they aren’t relationship minded, it’s that they aren’t with me. and that’s what stings

Where do you draw the line between negative self talk and a genuine appraisal of my romantic life? I feel like real confidence is out of my reach until I have hard evidence to base it off of. And until this point I don’t have that experience...

You're right. It's just that I was so invested in this guy that any new guy that comes into my life can't compete with the past, no matter how superior he may be. Unfortunately this is a pattern for me to be "second choice." I don't have one experience where someone I was truly interested in liked me back, so even if a new man came by I don't trust myself (based on my history) that I'd be able to handle it without crashing and burning. These men weren't necessarily higher SMV really. Very on my …

100% with you, but how do I know where to begin? I improve my looks as much as possible. The men I desire aren't higher SMV than me at all, and the women I'm losing out to aren't better looking than me either. Bottom line, I don't trust myself to be around someone I really like and not F it up, crash and burn, or end up in a second choice position.

It's not that he has ruined my self confidence...He is a symptom of a larger problem that's followed me through my whole life: being second choice, or not a choice at all...'bottom bitch' if you will. I get in positions where I'm alllmost there....only to remain loyal and get exploited in the end....the 50/50 partnership I want is really an 80/20 dependency and I create that monster by putting way more into the relationship than I should. And damn I want to get off this bi polar ride. It really …

100% agree. Obviously I am the only problem here and need to dig into the reasons why. The best way to put it is I find myself in these "bottom bitch" positions and now I can't seem to let go of this one because of how much I invested into it (i really gave it my all). Because of how much he has monopolized my mind, I fear that no man could be more superior because he will lose out to the past. Rather than be a Bottom Bitch it would be nice to focus on laying my own foundation and achieving my o…

Yeah, I'd like to move beyond this and focus on myself, but I'd be lying to say it doesn't monopolize my mind. This is a pattern of rejection for me and it's very disheartening to move through life genuinely believing that loving someone I desire and respect is out of reach. If I had real confidence that a reciprocal relationship was possible, I wouldn't be this hung up. But having no experiences to back up that confidence makes it difficult to focus on other things in life without being so hung…

You're right about it being frivolous to some...but for me this has become a pattern. It's very disheartening to move through life genuinely believing that loving someone I desire and respect is out of reach. All of the men I've crushed on (otherwise realistic prospects, same or slightly less SMV) have rejected me or chosen someone else instead. Living life on the second string has taken it's toll and I feel held me back from living my life otherwise. Real confidence is based on a realistic appr…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
