I hear you, that perspective holds water in a debate. I do question whether or not we just don't know how to effectively distinguish the difference and apply it. It's all out of bounds, but people get lost in the weeds trying to differentiate between the two. They're all "youths" and require protection measures.
I see the logic in that layout. Everything gets weird when you take into account cusp ages and the general spectrum of development. There's no changing consent without shifting tobacco and military limits though, i feel like they all anchor each other into a place exempt from updates.
Right on. 20 though, we're not talking 18? It's not an easy line to draw for sure, but there's the whole mental/social development that takes longer to develop than a body. I'm not ragging on anyone for having base attractions, but not being able to compartmentalize it and recognize vulnerability is off. Consent requires maturity to make such a life-altering decision.
