"Whoever matches last, texts first"/"Girls should be able make the first move" - I am lazy and low effort, so prepare for a walk to the field or netflix at my neckbeard nest (you can bring the wine)

Yep! NOTHING good ever comes out of "staying friends" with your ex. Even if you don't end the relationship on bad terms, always cut the contact. The naive and co-dependent me from the past tried "remaining on good terms" with my ex, which was incredibly toxic with him being passive (and even not so passive) aggressive towards me. I am, unfortunately, guilty of the occasional stalking, but I am working on that and telling myself they are not worthy of my time.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply. You mentioned great and valid points - it is so important to realize that the low effort guy did not magically turn into a loving and caring HV boyfriend for somebody else over night!

I completely agree. I used to be a desperate pickmeisha and make up all kinds of excuses for shitty men ("he is just shy/busy/unexperienced...") to convince myself to give them a chance. Now I walk away at the first sign of LVM behavior - and until now, sadly, this behavior always showed pretty soon. But I am definately happier since I save myself a lot of drama that way. No more time wasting.

Totally this! I once texted with a guy who seemed pretty decent and we agreed on a restaurant date for the next day. Shortly before the date he texts me whether I'm down to "cook together at his place" instead. I noped out immediately and deleted him. So be careful even if he invites you for a real date - he might still try to convince you to go for some low effort activity instead.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
