I'd say the emotional manipulation means that he is often not loving, compassionate, or supportive. I wonder what else he tells her is wrong with her perspective.

Dear Lord that's a lot of words to say absolutely nothing.

Nobody is safe. You said it yourself. Good for you for figuring out the whole thing was bullshit.

The Faith Community Virtual (Evangelical Christian Deconstruction) - This helps because I believe alot of RedPill is based on Evangelical "traditional/biblical" marriage. I've been listening to Straight White American Jesus's podcast sub series on faith deconstruction. My God the manipulations that "faith" leaders use against those who question their faith is gross.

Becoming a mixed martial arts fighter takes years of full time effort, and has a high risk of injury, including brain damage. IKR. Speaking from personal experience, with 5 orthopedic surgeries by the time I was 45, and now with arthritis. MMA has quite the machismo problem, where everyone thinks they're invincible, until they aren't. I know myself and fellow students were guilty of that, all wanting to prove we could take a bunch of pain. Besides, the vast majority, at least in the US, train fo…

Corporations often do things that are not in their own best interest. Your argument, if true, could just as easily show that corporations are run by humans. Thus they are not perfectly rational, just like the rest of us. Behavioral economics is the field of study that looks at this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behavioral_economics Anyways there's a huge difference between perception and reality. How many arrogant, loud, and bombastic people are perceived as brave and capable but in reality a…

That we are often their only emotional outlet and that’s why they take break ups so bad. Thank you so much for saying this. It's so true. And the rest of your post was equally Excellent.

I agree with lots of stuff in the RP literature but also disagree with a lot of it. Not because I am picking and choosing what I want but because I am reconciling what is true and what isn't. Can you elaborate on what it is you don't agree with?

Former and occasional fat kid here. Unless it affected my health in a fairly immediate sense, then no my motivation to lose weight was primarily to be more attractive to women. Well that and to advance in a society that favors the thin, or to look more menacing when I used to live in high crime areas. If the women didn't care though then great. But I'll be the first to admit that was short sighted on my part. In my 40's now and the extra weight does not help your joints. Plus it makes you hot te…

Yeah exactly. 4:15am would be the only possible time to get to work on time. I did 8 or 9am when I was working a second shift job.

One could also make the argument that a rapist wants to wear a condom to avoid leaving any DNA evidence, or that he wants to protect himself from getting any diseases. Granted rapists don't usually have that much forethought about consequences, but I could see the case for it.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
