-Ego: correct, unjustified. -Boring: mixed. I focus a lot on work, gym, owning shit around house (shopping/food prep/cleaning/maintenance/personal development/laundry/family time(young grandchildren care/play)). Weekends I try to leave one day free for fun, that may or may not include wife. She may join me if I’m going for a light hike, outside work around the house or a long drive. She won’t join me in anything more active. -I have thought about this in depth. I wasn’t making headway. I went to…

Age: 52. 5’10” 174 lbs. Married +25 years. One Kid in house. Found MRP in Oct 2018. BF 15.5-16.5% Navy PHYSICAL: 9 weeks in the new routine with a trainer. It’s not one on one, he builds out my routine and I give him feedback about it. Adding some to my lifts, and the program switches up every three weeks so I like the variety. Still plagued with shoulder and back issues when I work to push the numbers higher. I told the trainer I want to put on muscle mass and keep bf as close to where it is. H…

I love the three second rule from the game. I use it for as much action as I can now.... if you don’t get in that cold shower before the seconds are over you will never plunge. Don’t let the forebrain take over

I’ve found one of the best ways to connect with kids is to become interested in what their passions are, and not force ‘my agenda’. A huge learning curve to get into their pastimes and taste in music

Age: 52. 5’10” 172 lbs. Married +25 years. One Kid in house. BF15% (Navy). found MRP in Oct 2017. Last OYS in June 2020. PHYSICAL: I dumped the last program I was on (AthleanX). Hired the trainer at the gym with the goal of staying close to the same weight and putting on muscle. I’ve been on his super sets program, starting my 4th week. 4 days/week. The first three weeks were rep ranges of 10-12. It is so gratifying to get back under some iron and ditch the DBs I was using at home during lockdow…

Those can be tough habits to break. Up to you to be the leader. I keep watermelon in hand when in season. That’s what I let the family snack on. I cut off the rind and chunk it up. Into the fridge and they can grab a chunk when they want to snack

My go to snack is: sliced almonds, pumpkin seeds, pecan pieces and walnuts. Good fat to carb to protein ratios with good fiber and building blocks for hormone manufacture. I get the pumpkin seeds salted for taste. Mix once a week and keep in my car. The good news is no one tries to nab it.

That's the million dollar question. There are reasons to wait: building my cash reserves; if I divorce at the end of the year my business should have a lower valuation (corona effect), etc. It also gives more time for me to continue to unfuck myself and give her time to come on board with my plan. There is love here, but I need to see significant changes. Change is glacial. I did adapt some of MOTW's suggestion last night. A great workout together, nice dinner alone and then brought up the land …

You were so close and you missed the putt. Yes, you gave comfort. Good Then you qualified her for what you want from the relationship and she said yes to everything. Good. Then you turned the burden of the relationship back onto YOUR behavior. Bad, bad, bad. You ran right back inside the box. You let her emotions be in the driver’s seat of the relationship. There is a huge distance between light flirting and spinning plates. Push yourself. You’ll fail so many times before you actually have to decide if you are going to put your dick in or not that you don’t have to stop yourself worrying about ‘spinning plates’. Take the rush and see where it goes. Can you get a number? Repeatedly doing this helps build outcome independence.

There is nothing blissful about the blue pill. Just trying to be in less pain than the next guy.

And, if he can’t digest the first one, don’t give the next. One bite at a time.

Many CCRC facilities will disqualify admittance if one member of the family is too far gone. Get them in. The earlier the better.

Read about the sunk cost fallacy. Trust me, the lure of land you might inherit someday is not worth the value you think it is.

-Yes, she signed the listing papers. No movement on the two parcels over the summer. Dropped the price twice. I'd be willing to let these go at or below cost, but they are funny parcels (45 acres each) that have no comps in the marketplace, and right now it's just 2 acre lots that are selling. I cannot put either of these through subdivision. It's a waiting game. I'd really like to up the pressure on her getting a job, but she is tending her mom full time. I'm treading water, have a good new bud…

Unfortunately some lessons need to be learned more than once. I've been a lot more transparent in my communication since MRP. Fucked around for 10 years? Nope, I've fucked around for 50 years. There's baggage so old it's plaid, has no rolling wheels and covered in mold. so many life lessons.

I laughed like crazy at the "it's not her fault you listened to her words". I can laugh cynically about it now. Its a great place where I dump all her shit I get tired of tripping over in the house. It's half full and she hasn't noticed it's gone from the house. I've also been adding extra crap to the weekly trash, which she hasn't noticed either. Part of my mission is to have fun and be be fun. If she comes back into the bedroom mission comes first. I'll enjoy it or kick her out.

-I'll try the narrow grip/shrug. -Yep, a weak ass attempt an manipulation. This was 4 years ago. I hope I'm above that now, but I still don't want to put it back on. -Thanks for the reminder, I skipped SLSM first time through the sidebar. I couldn't find a way to buy it via amazon without it showing up for wifey to see. I'm past the point of caring if she sees if I get that now or not. I'll get 'er done. I've gone through old posts extensively and looked at dread tactics/process/implementation. …

51 177 lbs 5'10" BF 18-20% wendler program, latest lifts: Back squat: 255x2 Bench (dumbbell due to shoulders): 65x3 OHP: 115x2 (haven't moved up on this in ages) Dead lift: 275x5 Row: 145x1 I posted an OYS last week. u/BostonBrakeJob and u/Persaeus calling bullshit on me. Diving into that a little more this week. 25+ years ago when I met my wife, yes she was DTF anyway anyhow. That period lasted only 3-6 months and then faded quickly when we moved in together. As I remember it she was still purs…

Very good feedback. -Was she always like this? who knows, we are talking more than a quarter century in the past. I saw the world through a blue pill lens and memory is notoriously faulty. I could make up any story here and believe it myself. But, yes, I'm still holding back, but push my comfort zone. In a year I've gone from being terrified of my wife's anger to pushing her buttons when I feel like it. There are some major themes I need to address with her (where her lifestyle conflicts with my…

I’ll put some thought into that. My first response is that in reading practical female psychology I think she falls towards the lse/ld end of the spectrum, but that could be me putting blame on her. In the meantime I’m working on making me the best I can and engaging with her when/as I feel solid enough to keep frame. Is she leading the relationship...? Maybe, I’m working to save myself first. Yeah, she’s in mommy mode for our kids, and caregiver/grieving for her mom. I should have more compassi…

Dude, this sounds like me not too long ago. I found I was still full of covert contracts with this and living in her frame: if she does this, then I'll do this.... like a mental flowchart of how I'll act around her. I've had to take a more stoic approach. If I put some kino on I'm doing it for me, because I want to. I'll stop escalating (hopefully before the hard no because I want to be in control of when it stops). If I get a 'no' I go for it again just to show I can, then I stop cold and exit …

I see this as a marathon, and I’ve been blue pill my whole life. Drunk captain. Dread 1-3. Several comments from wife over the last few weeks: ‘You have a four pack’ ‘I’m trying to let you make more decisions’. She has been receptive to my taking more of what I want in bed. Ouch, ouch, ouch. I’ve had a deep unhappiness for decades. I’ll add to a FR. It’s hard to see that in writing. I’ll read your history. I’ve read MMSLP (1x), familiar with fun captain. Part of my MAP, which I’ll put in the FR as well.

Ok. There is some nuance here I’ll have to work through. By ‘lead by vision’ I’m assuming you mean to articulate that vision. That is different than leading by action. My current vision very short term, which I’ll detail in a FR. There is a lot for me to unfuck here.

Wow. Your thoughtful response is chillingly deep. Thank you. You have some questions in your text that I can address in a FR under OYS next week. It doesn’t look like we need to rush to get there as you’ve just outlined years work just to get to the starting gate. Thanks
