My sons mom took him and left our house last 11 days ago. We had a fight. I have anger issues I guess. We've had problems in the relationship for a while but I never expected this. I'm crushed. I'm angry. I'm sad. And I don't know where to turn to. It's why I found this subreddit a few days ago. I have moments in hopeful for the future. Moments I just want to give up. But I keep going because I want to see my son. Because I know he loves me and I love him. I'm watching some stupid superhero movi…

I know exactly how you feel. I'm there myself. I just want a small place to call my own. And to work on me. Just me. The best support I ever had was a counseling service I went to years ago. The only person I knew would be there. Who wouldn't be judgemental and would hear me. Watch me lose it and still stay there. I just hope we can all find what we need in those moments.

I really sorry buddy. It sounds like there is lot of stressful situations in your day. Just stay strong for your boy. He loves and needs you.

Thanks I really mean it. It really helps to hear how you guys have had your own difficulties. Parents can be tough. My father enjoyed his drinks. And although he rarely got red faced mad the way I do he would definitely get angry. Brother and I would get whipping with the belt sometimes. It's not like I was black and blue or wasn't disobedient at times but it definitely felt an unnecessary step sometimes. It was also the American South in the 80s so a different mindset. Thanks for talking.

I just really appreciate hearing that others have these problems. I've felt really alone in dealing with the from the start and like there is zero understanding. Knowing others have these problems helps a lot.

I understand it. I just lose sight of it in the moment. In that moment I just panic. It's like it's fight or flight and I never choose flight. I never think that's the answer. I appreciate what you're saying

I want to. And I understand she isn't the reason I get to the level of upset I get. Looking back I try to think what sets me off and in just about every situation it's right after I get a feeling of being disposable. After having my side of things ignored. That's not just with her with anything. Other times I've been angry. And I know it's my fault I blow up. And I want to be better with that. I struggle with knowing the best way to act in that moment. One side of my brain says ignore it, don't …

Thank you. Just seeing someone say I'm doing a good job actually makes me get watery eyed. Growing up I guess I felt keeping things bottled up is not the right way. My parents broke up when I was 11. I struggled with knowing the best way to act with people I rely on in life. I've been afraid to keep quiet about some things and also very difficult to let people know how important they are to me. I don't trust people to be fair with me or to consider my side. And when I feel I'm being ignored I st…

This is my next step. I've emailed her to say I have no choice but I'll have to. She has no family she speaks to in this country (England) but has family in America. I'm emailing tonight if I don't hear from her.

I did call the police. The first night there was a provisional missing persons report that would go through if they couldn't contact her. Then they found them. I got a call and was told they're safe but told nothing else. I waited a night I believe then called again. Explaining I wasn't sure what to do. Still don't know where they are. Essentially in this situation I believe we both have parenteral responsibility which as I understand means either could take their child away from the house with …

Thanks very much. I'm planning to find a therapist for anger management. It's all I can do.

Thanks so much for your comment. I really didn't want to get lawyers involved but it's seeming I have no choice. I want to go to anger management. I've gone to therapy before but not for anger management. For having a strange time growing up and feeling very lost in the world is the only way I can describe it. And it helped. I'm willing to talk about my anger management at least. I just find it difficult because other than this issue I think I do a good job in other places in our relationship. A…

Thanks very much for your comment. I really appreciate it. I am surprised. Not because I don't understand that's it's scary or upsetting having someone yelling. Only because we've had arguments before. I've yelled before. If she said to me I have to stop yelling or go to anger management otherwise she would leave I would understand. Even if she sent me an email to tell me what is happening I could understand. But to take my son and not say anything is just so unlike her. I want to change. I just…

Thank you. I'm going to call my Dr this morning about anger management options. And I'll contact a lawyer. I didn't want this to go this way but I suppose there's no choice.

I've reached out to friends and now I'm planning to contact her family. I just don't know where else to turn. I'm not a bad person. I love my son more than anything. I just get upset and yell. I'm an idiot but I'm not a monster. And I feel like I'm being treated like I am.
