That's sort of where we are at anyway. We have a trial in a little over 2 weeks and all of a sudden she is pushing hard to squeeze mediation in (which I think is largely due to her realization that she doesn't have a case or). The only problem is she can't seem to keep a lawyer. Went through three during our two year process and claims now that she "refuses to pay someone to argue with me". I really think she went through so many attorneys because she couldn't handle them telling her she couldn'…

Well, custody. She's been on quite the power trip and oversteps her "authority" like crazy. I also allowed a "no make up time" clause. I have to travel for work 4 weeks a winter and she really wanted to ensure that the kids didn't get to make up that time before or after a trip. This affects child support since she has them for those extra 12ish days a year. I also accepted a verbal agreement that we would each have one kid as a tax dependent and didn't push for that to be in the agreement. She …

Sorry to hear that man. A wise man once told me "you wanna know why divorce is so expensive? Because it's worth it!" My relationship with my ex also took a big belly flop when we started having kids (at which point I proposed). Tried to stick through it "for the kids" but it was unbearable. I am so glad to be divorced, wish I would have done it sooner. I'm also in a "new" relationship (going on 3 years). Never thought I'd want to marry again, but turns out I wanna marry this woman. It helps that…

Thanks, I'll check that sub out. People who don't know as much often say she must be bipolar but I've always thought BPD seemed more likely, who knows. Sorry you've been in the same boat but sounds like it's in everybody's best interest that you have custody, what I wouldn't give for that!

Thanks for your insight. It's helpful to see how other people view the same situations and where I can change my perspective. I think because she does so much "shit testing", like you mentioned, situations like the first 2 issues get to me more than they need to. The give an inch take a mile plays into that too because I'm trying to have consistent boundaries with her and I might be a bit too rigid on some things. For the record, the kids often don't want to answer the calls (and they have the a…

She called 16 times in less than 10 minutes and left 6 voicemails last night because I didn't answer her call to the kids right away. We were playing with their cousins. I answered once we were on our way home so the kids could talk to her (I would have had them call at this point anyway, even if she hadn't called). It just seems a bit extreme to me, is all I'm saying. Sorta like your response. But, it's always good to hear the opinions of others. Have you been in a similar situation?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
