The claim is that "fragile masculinity" (sometimes) makes men act in rather aggressive ways. In order to prove "that you're not a cissy" a man might be persuaded to more forcefully engage with the other sex. This is where the laughing comes in, namely, that the other sex is bothered/harmed by these kind of outings of "fragile masculinity". A way to reduce psychological harm is to make fun of it. Moreover, there are men who get beat up because of the fragility of some other man, there are mistake…

What you call "values" are simply actions. Usually, values refer to how the world should be, the why of actions, not the how.

That just depends on the methods used to ascertain the bias. Analyzing the semantic web of Wikipedia for information biases is just an application of computer science. I mean you can disagree with the subject matter, but this can easily be framed as a computer science thesis.

Look at this chart please: https://www.bls.gov/charts/employment-situation/civilian-labor-force-participation-rate.htm select the men above 20 years and women above 20 years. The articles are talking about august-september fall which was relatively larger for women than for men. Currently the gap between men and women participation is 12.6 percentpoints, which is 0.1 percentpoint higher than before corona.

Very simply put, I think the science shows that we cannot live free of social norms. As a result, the idea that "you can be whoever you want" is almost certainly false and will not stand the test of time. You're arguing against a strawman, people who want to be free of gender norms argue for new norms which allow for that to happen. So it isn't the abolishment of all norms, it's the introduction of new norm which allow for more and different gender expressions without repercussions. The only way…

That percentage is from looking at current developed countries and how women labor participation increased gdp. It already happened “naturally”, this policy is just an accelerator, because it takes time.

I would say toxic masculinity is a deeply flawed term because it can only describe harmful outcomes caused by masculine gender roles in terms of the behavior by masculine persons. This attributes undue agency to masculine persons (excessive agency is another masculine stereotype anyways) where they are held personally responsible for having certain beliefs about masculinity. This is in contrast to the term used for feminine persons: "internalized misogyny" which emphasizes the effect of the soci…

Multiple things: -- Women report lower sexual satisfaction in their lives than men, hence it would make sense that sexual tools for women are in higher demand. -- Women's sexuality has become more accepted over the decades, partly because of feminist influences. This is in contrast to male sexuality which is still often seen as predatory or creepy. -- Male sexual tools in general are seen as emasculating; "Need pils to get an erection? You're not a real man!", "You buy a fleshlight? You're a vir…

I speak how I feel Yes that's the problem. You feel like all feminists are whores, but they aren't. You just use language to make your feelings true, not caring about what is actually true and adjusting your feelings.

Aah I see why you got banned everywhere, you clearly don't care if what you're saying is true. Casually saying whores and feminists are the same is simply non-nonsensical. You may want to evaluate whether you're against feminism or rational conversations in general.

They spearheaded this by making the dutch crown princess receive the first draft letter. But since there is no actual draft since 1997 it's mostly inconsequential. The reddit comments are mostly about the royal family, their military history (every crown prins has served in the military) and how the princess probably gets preferential treatment if she ever enters the military.

I would also be allowed to be the person I want to be without getting shit on by the opposite sex. What person would that be? First I'd like to say that most women are on average way more sexy and pretty then the average man is sexy and handsome. And why do think that's the case? And he will be left behind because he's a fucking boy and this parenting wouldn't even be a problem if he was born a girl. You mean him being raised to be shy? The first interviewee is nostalgia tripping, stopped listening to him when he said "Man up". Also to the last point; the safety vs exploration debate has been going on for ages and there has been evidence that schools are currently too safe for All children. Only giving boys more exploration is a disservice to girls. But society may be too gynocentric to ever let girls be at more risk, so lets try it anyways for boys only.

You may notice the photo at the top of this article where the two sons are quite literally supporting the mother. Also notice the last paragraph mentioning the inheritance tax she would have to pay.

Sure and I would be worried if the article mentioned any mishandling of evidence or a lower evidence standard than actually needed. But it does not, so until someone finds something wrong with the case proceedings, I’m gonna go with the facts established in this courtcase on which the judge made the ruling.

Unless you there is something actually wrong with the case facts, I agree that someone being abused for years should have a lower sentence after killing that person. That should be common sense.

Toxic femininity doesn't mean some women are bad, it means some feminine traits are bad. Both men and women can traits we consider feminine. Problem is, feminists often do the old switcheroo where every toxic femininity trait is secretly the fault of male expectations and/or oppression.

First of all I said it's not necessary for social trends to move faster in order to relevant, so in the first half you're maybe arguing against someone, but not me. You have a degree in economics yet you don’t feel the need to nuance your 90 year trend? Where is your analysis on the influence of economics on culture and the other way around? Surely a socially interested economist has thought about that? Also don’t change the goalpost by claiming social trends have to move faster, they don’t have to in order to have a significant impact. Some aspects can be considered gendered bullshit (like male disposability) and other things like ambition are simply gender neutral. I agree with your first point. Your second point however, leaves a number of holes, what if I said boys just are less interested to learn? And I use the grade average difference to justify that claim? would that be a "fair" comparison? It is an interest/skill difference varying per gender. What to you mean to some extend? I agree with your second point.

It was a parody of "it's attributed to the hard work or talent of the individuals or the group". You can't call the hypocrisy on something when you do the exact same thing only with the subject changed. My point being that if you accept that the justice system can favor women, then you also have to accept that the justice system can also favor non-minorities in much the same way. Or that if you accept that hard work and talent within a group lets them get overrepresented in the "good end of the …

The same hypocrisy in saying boys underperform in school because of the system, but not saying girls just work harder and have more talent. What about the overwhelmingly male prison population? are women just better at obeying the law? Or could there possibly be systems in place which make men more likely to commit and/or to be punished for a crime. You tell me which is the case, without the hypocrisy please.

So the only person actually mentioning the dating pool, is the author himself, not mainstream media. Well I will just copy paste my answer i gave to the other person; So 50/50 time shared is explicitely in ”the best interest of the child” instead of under scrutiny of the judge. I thought 50/50 referred to equal chance of getting custody. You just said they aren’t nurturers: And this 'nurturer' argument is bullshit. Mothers are 70% of the killer of their own children(particularly boys) and are the majority of perpetrators of raping men and boys outside of prison Then you state the opposite: Women are generally speaking more nurturing to their children, there is something of a bond that establishes during pregnancy, although not all women feel it, thats for sure. The law written is gender neutral, in almost all states 50/50 is the written presumption. You could argue that requirements such as time spend taking care of the child are in favour of women*. But why would it be in favour of women if not for acting out gender roles and actually spending more caring for the child? The problem is, that judges favour women in custody battles even when everything else is the same. *if you don’t believe the primary carers are as important as the policy assumes then …

Because patriarchy is only beneficial at all times when you agree with it. Patriarchy is about gender roles and expectations (with feminist focusing on how it benefits men), if you don’t agree with the patriarchical idea of women being better at nurturing than men then you gonna suffer, regardless of gender.

Look the problem is that it’s mostly male judges, making decisions that go against male interests. Feminists have a hard time wrapping their head about the concept of males not being a monolith, and if they do, they seem to enjoy the fact that their “oppressors” are also hurting others within that same class. The second point is that there are piles of feminist literature precisely outlining the effect of gender expectations, giving a fitting explanation of everything you just described and more…

Equally neutral as a movie told from a white perspective. Neutral concerns the message of the series, which at the end of season 3, is pretty bland. You can look up the synopsis yourself I assume.

If you knew anything about the series you would know that it’s pretty neutral, that the trailer is meant to be inflametory and that it is just told from a black perspective. Black perspective means black slang treated as normal, black politics are the default and all white characters are side characters.

And very poorly enforced. I mean discrimination based on sex is illegal since 1975 (UK), we all know how well that is enforced. You think kidnapped brides can just leave marriages at will? Granted the reasons are very different and require different solutions. You know alimony laws only affect wealth gained after the marriage. The real problem is ending the divorce as you have to prove one of your rights has been violated *during* the marriage, or both partners have to consent. The process can t…

She was at least filmed while having sex without her consent. If a bunch of women (or men for that matter) burst in the room I was having sex with a girl and started filming I would claim sexual harassment or invading privacy. If I were also locked up for a month where at least two weeks without an lawyer, you probably could get me to say all kinds of stuff, like feeling that they raped me. So unlike a lot of other countries with tradtional gender roles where the male family pays the female family for mariage (including Europe in the past), in India it’ s the opposite. Hence, instead of male’s families kidnapping females to avoid paying, in India, it’s female’s families kidnapping males to avoid paying. They should really push to get rid of the dowry.

A note about the protest group: they want compensation for a specific generation of women who were ”not informed”. It’s the typical cash grab “interest group” which forms after almost every reduction in social welfare, environment protection law and the like. Not really something special to women’s pension laws. More importantly they actually don’t care about younger women and don’t want to revert the law. Also the majority of european contries have an equal pension age for both men and women. h…

If you read the article, it claims that women support men emotionally more in their relationships than the reverse. Men generally have less close friends than women and report more often that their partner is their only emotional support. Women have usually more close friends for emotional support, hence they have less to lose when a breakup occurs. If you read feminist sources, then you would find that they want men to be more emotionally competent (or ”not suppressing themselves emotionally” i…

If the problem is complex enough, it's a matter of chance you solve them. The people who solved them can't identify how they did it, hence they are lousy instructors. That's why asking successful people how they became successful is much less useful than an analyses of successful people (by whoever) on how they became successful.
