Idk words mean things? Using words wrong (lying?) doesnt mean im pedantic for being misled. Its really easy to fall into an algorithm and then start parotting videos that are directly shown to you. Doesn't make you wrong but if youre gonna go around claiming to have done research dont you think its a bit embarrassing if you've only googled it?

but I guarantee that if I posted the long form videos or the articles laced with legalese, that you'd be all "TL;DR derp derp hurrrhurrr". That's your assumption. If you wanna get super defensive and accuse me of being biased and unfair then there's nothing I can do about that. If you had posted an article or a legal document I would have read it. Thats actually exactly what I was hoping for. (Not so much long form video, but that's personal taste) Its up to you if you wanna play the victim card…

They obviously aren't going to be used in any sort of professional research or legit journalism but that's not the point here That literally was the point here though! And thats the sole reason im "going on and on about the source". They posted YouTube shorts immediately after saying: "I guess you haven't done much research on this topic, eh?" The entire context was that youtube shorts are "research". but I enjoyed watching the videos instead of having to dissect articles or read scientific publ…

If you have better sources, why not post them...? All I'm pointing out to you is that youtube shorts are not a source. just because you don't like the truth of it Oh don't be a drama queen and act like you're such a victim because I hate the truth. That's so lame. Just present an actual source worth looking at. Link back to the comment you actually put effort into and I can read that instead of being lazy and then getting offended when the laziness gets called out. If you have evidence to the co…

Given the fact you're linking YouTube shorts neither have you tho? Unless "research" means watching short form propaganda recommended to you by an algorithm.

Ah, I'm Canadian so I have no clue how those terms are used. Yeah you're probably right about the gap being less than 3 then.

Does the movie specify he started dating her at 14 when he was 17? Yes, but not using those exact words. It's just math on them being 17 and 20. The Romeo and Juliet laws state that as long as they were dating while he was a minor, the relationship gets grandfathered in. That means they had to start dating when he was under 18. If he was dating her at 17, then just do the math. She's 3 years younger than him, so 14. I do agree with you though that there is a bizarre double standard around age ga…

Yeah it's totally fair to complain about. It's a concerning age gap. I wouldn't necessarily call him a pedophile but the relationship is certainly disgusting and the only reason he isn't legally defined as a statutory rapist is because an obscure Texas law says it's okay because he was dating a 14 year old at 17. If he came from New York instead of Texas, their relationship would be legally defined as rape he only gets away with it on a technicality, so I don't get why you don't get the reaction…

But then again, people, especially on Reddit, complained about fictional characters in Transformers Age of Extinction where a 20 year old man was dating a 17 year old girl. Are you talking about the scene where the dad is yelling at the 20 year old it's illegal to date his daughter, and the guy perfectly cites a Texas statue that says he can legally date a minor if they had a preexisting relationship (I guess when she was 14 and he was 17) and then he literally pulls a copy of the law that he ha…

If some brand wants to use an AI model on their website they simply cannot have the thing saying the n word to customers. Keeping the Walmart ai within the scope of Walmart specific topics is the only way Walmart would consider buying it, so like it or not, filters are the key to really becoming profitable.

I'm sorry that's your experience with society. You're obviously right it's not your problem if people don't "like" the way you choose to live your life. I'm lucky to be surrounded with a fantastic group of friends and due to going through childhood cancer in a country with socialized medicine I don't think it's even possible to give back what I've personally taken. I do know that there are young boys and men who are getting a lot of confusing messages in modern society. They have a lot of people…

Exactly, there should just as many women only as male only There should 100% be spaces for men as well, but the demand for resources doesn't always perfectly split down the middle. If in some hypothetical situation, half of the men's shelters are empty while all the women's are full, I don't see why we need to build another empty men's shelter before we can build another women's.

I don't understand what you mean by this. I know you're attempting to turn around my words but I never claimed to be a feminist. I do care about the rights of other women as well as men. I think of them more as human rights though than "women's rights" or "men's rights". If any individual is treated unfairly based on things they can't control that's wrong. Pretty simple idea.

Providing men with advice on how to navigate the current view of masculinity is important. It's incredibly important. But you aren't doing that. You just said you said you don't care about other men. I think men's rights advocates should provide advice to other men. And for that advice to be good, they have to care about the men they're giving it to. That doesn’t mean playing the game and selling out to the new wave of anti male propaganda as you advocate. Okay I apologize, I'm getting lost here…

If you don't care about men and you are gonna sit back, do nothing, and smile as men are abused and discarded... Then in what way are you advocating for mens rights? You aren't advocating for anything.

For you maybe it's not, but to the person I was responding to it was. Every one has a different perspective and is coming from their own place. You're absolutely right that the first, most sensible emotional response is to turn on society and become more closed off... But that doesn't work, it makes the man lonely and it affects the society and the people who love him. The rational response is to realize the emotional response is totally natural, but is the outcome to avoid. The focus of advocac…

I'm really sorry about that. I couldn't imagine what a betrayal like that would do to my core and destroy my trust. And I know distant words over a keyboard wouldn't change that or fix it in any way. I just hope you can get back to a place where you feel you can trust again because, and maybe this is just my belief and I'm wrong on it, but I truly believe that loving and trusting others is the only way to actually finding happiness. Good luck to you.

You can't get used if you set boundaries. I said be kind, not be a pushover. Most people are assholes it seems. Yeah if you want to form good connections with society, you'll have to give a little more than you take just because of how many people are only taking and never giving. Fairness is one of the most important things to focus on. Don't just help the loudest most entitled people first in line for your help. Look for the quiet ones at the back of the line who really need your help but don'…

You're allowed to discuss whatever you want. In my opinion, to advocate for human rights effectively you have to care about other humans. I see the idea that it's reasonable or okay to shut down from society as enabling an unhealthy mindset. I totally see how you might get there, but I advocate for men's rights because I don't want you to feel that way. I advocate for men's rights because I want society to care about men and I want men to be free and happy to engage with society.

You’re missing his point. Although not made very clearly I admit but his point is valid. Why would a man, especially a white middle age man, go out of his way or put himself in harms way to help a stranger? Because he was raised to be a good, moral person? I understand what you're trying to say. Society doesn't reward moral behavior. Society is breeding men who don't care and aren't cared for, so why help society? But what is society really? It's you, me, my family, your family, our neighbors, i…

It's not unreasonable at all. You're right. But it's a toxic, unhealthy mindset that is developed to survive in a toxic, unhealthy society. I'm not saying these feelings are unreasonable. I'm saying they're unhelpful. Being upset at society and being selfish doesn't fix the problem. As Men's Rights Advocates we have to care about other men. I care about the struggles OP is going through because it is unhealthy and they need help. OP should not be blamed for this, but they are not being productiv…

Your attitude is exactly why society doesn't take men's rights seriously. "What made you a Men's Rights Advocate?" "My compete lack of desire to help other people and my unwillingness to fight for their rights." The bare minimum bar to reach to post in Men's Rights imo should be that you at least somewhat care about the rights of other men.

Both subs generally agree that second wave feminism was good and necessary. It focused on legal obstacles to gender equality like gaining the right to vote, as well as women's relations to sexuality, how they navigate the workspace, reproductive rights, etc. This is obviously true. Women are and should be equal to men. This revelation has completely overhauled our society to be more inclusive and gender balanced. Now that we as a society have accepted that equality is good, and have made attempt…

It's so odd to me how we went through a 2 year long pandemic where a lot of people were locked indoors in a small apartment with no human contact, but people are still surprised pikachu that onlyfans is popular.

Honestly not sure what's wrong with this. Killing is bad. I agree that people shouldn't kill. I guess cause a man killed someone and he specifically said men shouldn't kill?

I feel like that's similar to "terrorists aren't real Muslims". They are feminists, but they're extreme feminists and not representative of feminism as whole. You're absolutely right a distinction should be made though.
