I'm going to go against what everyone else is pretty much saying and state that I do not like being pursued or asked out. I'm hunter. I like the chase aspect. Being asked out kind of takes that all away.

Absolutely, the scars need to be dealt with first. For those who are still experiencing the five stages of grief or loss (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance) absolutely should avoid something that might make them take a more radical unhealthy view.
