...yes, I specifically said that. WTF is with this sub, is everyone fucking regarded?

The "study" is a blog. I went through the data linked, which you clearly didn't, to find the above data. They also used 27 European countries in their sample not just Germany like you said earlier. Nope, never said that. I said "most of the data," not all. And do you even know which 27 countries are used in the sample? Because it's a shit article and extremely difficult to find their data.

They are though, that's literally what I said and it's in the article; both men and women are more likely to divorce if there partner gets sick. Men are more likely to divorce because: Men have much higher workforce participation rates. "Women's labor force participation rate was 56.1 percent in 2021, little different from the rate in 2020 (56.2 percent). Men's labor force participation rate, which has always been much higher than that for women, was 67.6 percent in 2021, also little different t…

"The European correlates of silver splits accord with those found in the literature for North America." -From one of the sources listed from the Pop Psychology article. The source is "'Silver splits' in Europe" and is found in the article "Partners' health and silver splits in Europe: A gendered pattern?", which is the primary source for the Pop Psychology article. From "Did Medicaid Expansion Reduce Medical Divorce," we see that ACA expansion aka "Obamacare" reduced the overall divorce rate 11.…

Not every European country has a public only healthcare system, in fact I don't think any country does. Most of the data from the study comes from Germany, which has uses a combination of private and public sources. You can still go heavily in to debt with expensive cancer treatment (the study looked at brain cancers). If your income or married income is too high you do not qualify for state assistance. If you read the study, men were far more likely to "leave" their partners if they were marrie…

That was literally the point, Jesus Christ the IQ in this sub is room temperature. They are divorcing their wives to protect the house and their children's college fund. In many cases the woman can get better healthcare through Medicaid anyway, as Medicaid has full and unlimited coverage of both cervical and breast cancer.

This phenomena is most apparent in the United States and is almost entirely explained by it's healthcare system. Both men and women have extremely high rates of divorce during cancer in order to protect assets and limit medical debt. Men have higher workforce participation and thus are more likely to divorce their wives during cancer or medical emergencies. In most states it is also typically easier for women to get medicaid than for men. "A "medical divorce," also known as a "Medicaid divorce,"…

No you are way overthinking this and frankly it doesn't make sense at all because it assumes normal sampling. Most data sources estimate that the swipe range on Hinge is 30-40%, depending on what source you look at. Plenty of different sources to look up. And although Hinge as never officially admitted it's algorithm takes into attractiveness, only "compatibility", it does admit it puts the most "compatible" matches first.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/25 07:30 PM

I feel like you are being obtuse or just don't get it. The whole argument is that women complain about beauty standards when there is a far wider range of appeal in women than in men. The other argument OP seems to be making is that women seem to find other women more attractive than men, even when the couple is "looksmatched". Women can pull off fuller faces while still fitting into our ideals of facial beauty for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/25 10:50 AM

Doesn't that support OPs argument though? Lizzo is categorically "severely obese". I've never heard anyone, neither IRL or the internet, call a severely obese man beautiful.

Your reasoning is deeply flawed. It presupposes that attractive people are shown on the app as often as unattractive people. In reality, Hinge, like most apps, shows the most attractive people first to increase engagement.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/25 06:42 AM

I would support a government funded or non-profit dating site. The core problem with for-profit dating apps is that they are incentivized to keep people on the app as long as possible.

I think like 70% of men and like 95% of women can at least be considered somewhat attractive if they dress well and are in good shape.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/25 10:55 PM

For sure. We are so attuned to people's faces that even a small change in bodyfat is noticeable.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/25 06:36 AM

It's kind of wild how differently people treat you when you lose/gain a relatively small amount of weight.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/25 06:32 AM

"Go to therapy" is the progressive equivalent to "I'll pray for you". It's meant to be dismissive and condescending.

Importantly, the use of hypothetical vignettes may not fully capture real-world perceptions. “Other recent research suggests that when evaluating people in the real world, or real people rather than hypothetical people, women are evaluated more negatively than men when their numbers of sexual partners increase,” Busch noted. “This leads me to believe that if we conducted this study in a similar fashion, with real targets rather than hypothetical targets, we might see different results.” From the…

Well I'm taking the piss here a bit but here's a mental exercise: if a man finds men more attractive than women everyone would say that he is gay. Women twist themselves into all sorts of mental pretzels to explain why actually this isn't gay.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/25 08:42 PM

I mean yea there's greater evolutionary pressure for men to NOT be gay, unlike women. If men were gay they would just fuck each other and not have to worry about pregnancy, providing, etc. That's why men have a much narrower sexual fluidity. "In 2019, 65% of women reported only being attracted to men, a notable decrease from 77% in 2011. The number of women exclusively having sex with men also dropped between those years. Meanwhile, men’s attraction and sexual behaviour stayed mostly static in t…

I never said they were. See point number 4.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/25 07:02 PM

So I've noticed this on the internet, and I've now noticed this IRL: women seem to find women more attractive than men. I was just at a mixer last night and multiple women made comments that amounted to the women were better looking than the men there. To me everyone was so similar in attractiveness that they could have been siblings. My hypothesis is that: High level of Birth control starting at like 14 are making women gay Microplastics are making women even gayer than normal Women are more su…

No, it's not. This is why countries like Vietnam and Thailand have below replacement despite being fairly poor countries-they are highly urbanized and have a fairly educated female population. Within countries, the wealthy are typically highly educated and live in dense urban environments, hence the low birth rate. If you account for education and urbanization there is very little difference in the birth rate of the wealthy and the other classes. Secularization follows the growth in wealth You c…

McDonalds is unironically an upgrade to a snack bar. McDonalds pays like 40k a year around here and gives a small stiped for school.

My ex-girlfriend made like 3x what I do. I liked it because we had more money.

Where are you from? Or whereabouts if you don't want to be specific. $200/month for a whole house is crazy.

The main drivers of the declining birth rate are urbanization, secularization, and female educational attainment. All three are strongly inversely correlated with the birth rate.

This article is from 2004, and most of the data is from the late 90s to early 2000s. You cannot use data from the early 2000s and apply it to modern dating. For reference the iPhone came out in 2007. You are simply misinterpreting the data. Your claim is not supported in the article at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/25 03:07 PM

Makes sense. You'd probably have better luck in smaller cities or rural areas too, but of course there are other considerations.

This is how it's been for generations though. If you want to consistently make friends and new social groups past ~25 you have to put yourself out there-join sports leagues, hobby groups, etc. People on reddit act like you have no choice but to spend all your free time arguing with a bunch of strangers. You don't. It's never been easier to find groups with the internet (eg Instagram, Meetup).

I mean there's one group that is super overrepresented in the gender wars space but they aren't foreign. It's probably because around 2/3 of them grow up in a single parent home. They are super overrepresented on this sub as well.

I don't know why y'all have such a tough time finding a lady. I've been with dozens of lady boys at this point, it's really not that hard smh.
