This is everywhere not just the US. Also you only took girls into the equation of people demanding and forgot guys. It could be quite effective to show your past to them with guilt as it shows that they have such an effect on you that you're being reformed by them or that for them you're willing to let your old ways go. -1	Tips for cold approaching in college Unless you look like a pan (cause usually people who cold approach aren't attractive enough to attract anyone without making the first move) and have andrew shultz level comedy and JFK charisma, I wouldn't advise anyone to cold approach. Just put yourself out there enough to get a vibe from someone (usually eyes, gestures with the hair and hands), then it's much easier to pick it off from there.
