Now that you mention it, this was my exact experience all throughout my time playing World of Warcraft.

To be honest mate, in six years time I bet you won't even bat an eyelid at such drivel. Focus on you, focus on the now, relish and take advantage of every single day that you have. With age, time elapses at an ever increasingly rapid pace, I mean we're nearly in August already... I feel like Christmas was yesterday!

Yeah this is spot on, almost every time I see my mother invariably the question/statements around "when are you going to find a nice woman?" or "we'll have to find you a nice lady friend soon" rear their ugly head. My close male friends (all of which are in relationships) allude to the same line of questioning, albeit less frequently. Good in theory, but in practice its probably more trouble than it's worth. I like the philosophy of focusing on yourself, it's okay to be selfish if you don't have anything or anyone to be answerable to or responsible for. Primarily my concerns are …

Growing up, Mom's word was gospel. Dad preached the word of mom and placated her with false assurances. You didn't dare question mom or you'd find yourself on the end of some verbal tirade, an ass slapping or both!

Growing up, mom was always right, there was no questioning her - even if you knew she was wrong. If you did there was hell to pay, I wasn't beaten, a few slaps on the ass here and there, but the emotional trauma was more painful and if mom ended up in a shitty mood everyone knew it and you were forced to apologies regardless of any actual wrongdoing. This view was actively supported and perpetuated by my dad, I think he had well and truly given up on the idea of being right by my early adolescen…
