This is not pessimism, this is just understanding human nature.

How many matches do you usually get? If you usually don't get matches, a boost is not going to help you dude, it's not magically going to make nine high quality girls to date you immediately. Think about all the options they have, think about the 30 minute sliver of time they have to potentially see you. The chances are pretty low that a single boost will do anything substantial.

I've lived in the southwest for fifteen years -- I have never once seen a short hispanic man with an attractive woman. With a woman? yes. An admirable woman? Never ever, not once.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 09:23 PM

Well, we disagree that muscle mass helps short men, that's all. Bye bye.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 09:09 PM

Um, he's pretty jacked these days actually and it didn't help fuck all. I think telling short dudes to lift is a word I'm not allowed to say here.

Yeah, we know that's not particularly true because we have stats on dating sites and have studies on women's preferences in general. On OLD, women greatly prefer men 6ft and up -- considering that 40% of new couples meet on OLD these days, this is significant. We also know that women want taller men more than men want short women ,2 I was talking about on average. It's not about our anecdotes. Not only do I think most people would agree with my anecdotal experience over yours, but virtually ever…

Usually people who want to invalidate other people's arguments use emojis (as if their argument is so ridiculous that you JUST have to laugh at it!) It's a method that people without good arguments generally use.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 08:11 PM

I mean, on average, taller men probably end up with more attractive women. I never said being short only makes you fuck ugly chicks, maybe read again and stop being disingenuous and using emojis like a child, as if that adds anything to your argument. Sorry that you don't want this to be reality, but I think the vast majority of people would agree with me that it is indeed reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 08:04 PM

Plenty of short guys get laid*, but they don't do as well as tall men and virtually everyone knows this. Also quality of women matters. I know very few 5'9 men with conventionally attractive women, while I know tons of 6ft and up men with beautiful women, and they also try way less. So it's more about effort put in and quality, not "getting layed"
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 07:52 PM

I mean, I'm skinny and I get women so it doesn't really seem like the body type that's the issue. It's the height that's the issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 07:49 PM

Both super thankful and super resentful, honestly, lots of cognitive dissonance, especially since one of my best friends is a 5'7 skinny runt (with a heart of gold, and a brain the size of a planet) and he is continually looked over despite being a brilliant, amazing person, and another friend is just some guy who looks like Ryan Gosling and you can guess how that goes...
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 06:55 PM

I've never had trouble with women IRL, I am mostly talking about OLD. Also I hate to say this cause it makes me look like a bitch, but it's not really the quality or quantity of women that's my issue. It's that I know some guys who have soft harems that are obsessed with them and the fact that I don't have that makes me continually low level depressed. My sexual experience was cucked because of genetic RNG. The only dudes who can really just get tons of women, who all love them for no good reaso…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 06:44 PM

I have a full head of hair luckily, my face is seriously just jank brother. No amount of makeup could fix this Slavic mug.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 05:42 PM

I am 6'2", 175, and in traditionally 'good' shape. Finding women (who take as good care of themselves as I take care of myself) to go on a date with is like pulling teeth. Face matters more than everything else. If your face sucks like mine, you're going to struggle.

A buddy of mine (he was a rhetoric professor for 10 years) dropped everything and started doing freelance videography and, like, makes an ok income. Bought a dinky little DSLR camera, tripod and a zoom lens, he has worked for virtually every major news outlet doing this, tons of weddings and tons of extracurricular events. He has filmed at least a few dozen races/5ks/marathons and travels all over the country doing this. He started with close to nothing. Or do like I did, and panic learn HTML. E…

Once again, your anecdotes are irrelevent. Surveys with high numbers of participants are relevant to every part of the country. They are true in Bumfuck Texas just like they are true in Manhattan. What your friends do or don't do actually 100% does not matter. And your point about an overlap existing was agreed upon by me in my first comment back to you, and wasn't what I was talking about, and more importantly, is completely different than the point I was responding to. The point I was respondi…

I ain't mad, I just don't think your response is relevant or makes any sense, honestly.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 07:17 PM
1

It is not, if a singular answer is more difficult to get to. I think the singular answer of "women are delusional" is a more harder sell to the vast majority of people than "there are many factors at play". I like how you didn't mention that occam's razor is wrong constantly, especially when talking about complex topics.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 07:13 PM

Like I said, we have plenty of methods to reliably tell when people are lying in self surveys. Like, we can tell when they're lying. We can literally do it with eye tracking these days.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 07:05 PM

That's not Occam's Razor. Women 'being delusional' is not 'simpler' than a confluence of factors effecting something. Moreover, Occam's Razor is wrong pretty consistently and there are many phenomena where it has no bearing whatsoever.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 07:03 PM

The 'make women look bad bit' is irrelevant and has nothing to do with anything. Reads like unnecessary snark.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 06:53 PM
1

It is not easy to see, there are extremely minor differences that are not perceptible. It is why you cannot see a woman and guess her age. You can only guess her age range. There is no such thing as 'looking 20' or 'looking 25'
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 06:36 PM
1

You would 100% fail a 'blind' test, and fail it miserably. people were incredibly overconfident about being able to tell the difference between Disani and Aquafina. Humans are remarkably bad at blind guesses.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 06:25 PM
1

It's wrong because the study doesn't exist. I don't care about what makes who look good or bad -- I care about things that are true. Really sounds like the thing you said is not true.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 06:21 PM
1

You couldn't even tell the difference between most 20 year olds and most 28 year olds in a blind test. You would fail miserably. Reminds me of those idiots who think they can actually taste different brands of bottled water.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 06:18 PM

Vast majority of this community is western based, and America based. It has never been focused on any cultures except American and some Europe. That's it. I never said 666, you're arguing against a ghost. Go back and read my OG replies -- my contentions were with the OP saying that looks and money matter less than "personality" which is clear bullshit.

when women are rejected by men they're attracted to, they blame it on men they aren't attracted to I don't really believe this and/or you read whatever study this is very, very wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 05:38 PM

Nice, I like how you ignored the main point that women overwhelmingly want to date men that make significantly more than them. Your anecdotes aren't relevant. I posted studies with thousands of people that contradict your tiny bubble of reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 05:23 PM

If it's even 3-5%, that's not minuscule, and we cannot really say if it's that much or less or more. Remember that women are statistically far more bi than men. Ok, sure. Right, your original thought leaves out a bunch of factors. Don't leave out the factors. I did add that your OG thought could be a factor, but it's just a factor, and given how wonky the study is and how little they tell us about the demographics, we don't actually know what percentage of women are doing what you're saying they…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 05:13 PM

I don't have a facebook, and my tiny bubble of reality is not representative of reality anyway, or of giant populations. Just like yours isn't. If your answer is "everyone is lying" and "impossible to get proof", yeah, I don't believe you. It's possible to figure out if people are dishonest when they're surveyed (we have surveys about how and why people lie on surveys), so I don't really buy your argument that it's not totally impossible to get good stats here.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 05:04 PM

Confluence of factors, not just one factor. same sex relationships women dating people in the other age brackets (this is definitely SOME percentage of the responders) Responder bias. Not many women responded, and the ones that did were disproportionately in relationships. If look at the study, you can look at their methodology, which includes a few charts about participation. Out of the 7374 people who were sent a surveys 6034 completed it, but they don't break that number down by gender and se…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 05:03 PM

This is based off the tiny bubble of your own life and is not representative of 'the majority of women'. You have no actual evidence for the claim you just made except the tiny sliver of people you know. It's an anecdote. YOU know some women who do this. Then you extrapolate that to mean 'most' women, which is, of course, totally fucking stupid in every way. When you don't have evidence for claims, you don't solidly make claims. You say "I don't know".
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 04:56 PM

How the fuck would you know? Oh, right, you're just guessing based off the tiny bubble of your own life.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 04:46 PM

Literally arguing with a person right now in this very thread who said 'looks don't matter' and 'looks are not the primary reason people are attracted to each other,' pretty much point blank, so you are already wrong. No, you can look at my other comments in this thread. On average, women actively seek men who make more money than them and will not date men who make under 30k a year, both of these things pretty much invalidate everything you just said. Maybe a minority of women do as you say, bu…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 04:42 PM

They also want a man who makes way more than them. Why leave out that part? I just posted evidence for that claim. It's not about having a job, women actively want a man to make more money than them. This is a gender dynamics forum. Having an interest in gender dynamics =/= being in a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 04:41 PM

Yeah, that's probably true, I don't really see how that invalidates looks and salary being hugely important when it comes to attracting people. Not seeing you take issue with the clear nonsense of "standards don't have anything to do with looks and money" when virtually everyone and every study says they do.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 04:28 PM

I am tall, but too skinny and make 50k a year bro. So no, I'm not. Have a long term GF tho, so doesn't really matter. Also lmao at how you can't even take information that might be contrary to your silly worldview. It's k, things have been studied and you haven't read the studies. Now you know that the vast majority of women DO take salary into account.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 04:27 PM

Where does it start then? Humans are visual creatures. It is our primary sense to authenticate whether or not a mate is healthy and could potentially rear healthy offspring, this is true for both men and women. We are apes and bound by genetics and instinct. Don't agree? Time to read a book. Nice, read my other two links. BTW, there's like a billion studies about women preferring menwith higher salaries than them, not dating wagies, and not dating men who make under 30k a year. Any studies you h…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 04:14 PM

I never said it was the end all be all. I said everyone has a looks threshold, and attraction starts at looks. So people don't have a looks threshold? How is it a myth that people attempt to partner up with people they find attractive? That's all 'looks threshold' means. The amount of salary is clearly important, since most women won't date someone who makes less than them or makes less than 30k a year, and tend to date men who make significantly more (as my links show). So like I said, women do…

You're not listening. The majority of men who maintain muscle mass throughout their lives are on some kind of test/steroid regimen. Men cannot maintain muscles naturally past, like, 40 and most modern day men's test levels are so low they basically have to get on test/some kind of roid in their mid 30's in order to maintain mass. Hemsworth is not a 'bulky steroids guy', he isn't a powerlifter
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 04:04 PM

Dude they start with "doesn't have to do with looks", which everyone knows is bullshit, since virtually all people have a looks threshold. I bet Joe Merrick was a cool guy but I doubt very many women gave him the time of day. Why? Cause looks threshold. Then they say, "doesn't have to do with salary", which everyone knows is bullshit, since virtually no women date homeless men, vagabonds or video game addicted weirdos. So SOME salary obviously does matter. 'Character' only comes into the equatio…

/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 03:40 PM

Bro, I am 6'2 and skinny, I don't WANT bulky guys to happen, I want skinny dudes to be the apex, but it's just not how it is. It isn't true anecdotally, and it isn't true when looking at studies Muscles are indicators of attractiveness cross culturally. It isn't difficult to understand why this is.

It's not an opinion that obese people lack mental willpower, it is a primary feature of their disease. It is not an opinion that obese people contain fewer muscles and less strength than average humans, or even lean humans, it is a feature of their disease. Your rebuttal here is the perfect response. Give up, lie down, 'cause actually thinking is too hard. Much easier for you to just barely think at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 03:26 PM

Nice, just ignored all those A list actors from Marvel that make billions more than any pop star. Cool. Not weird to you that 99% of actors on contract right now are obviously on steroids, and it's like ... talked about constantly? Hemsworth is most representative. Would get chosen over any of those dudes most of the time. Also just FYI, romance novels are literally the best selling publishing category out of any category and have been for a while now. Also read predominantly by women, so...

Majority of men who maintain a physique like that (especially older than 30) have to take some kind of test/steroid regimen to maintain said physique
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 03:09 PM

They don't. You literally can't even stop eating enough to not be fat. Fat people by definition lack willpower. You can't do a pullup. You literally can't pull yourself up once. If walking up a single flight of stairs can basically wreck your internal organs, you are physically and mentally weak. It does not depend. Obesity is a sign of sickness. It is a sign of mental distress. It is a sign of lack of control. There is not a single criteria that obesity can be measured on that is positive. It i…

Looks at pop stars --- ... k Looks at every dude on a romance novel cover, which is what we're discussing -- steroids Looks at virtually every A tier actor in existence since 2000ish --- steroids Not sure what your point is.... that rich pop stars also get pussy? Ok, I don't see how that makes them the ideal physique
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 03:02 PM

Hypothetical: so if these fat women you fuck suddenly lost weight, are they more attractive or less attractive? If a conventionally attractive lean woman came by, would they be less attractive than a fat woman? How? Why? Incel is always derogatory brother, especially to a guy who has kind of been arguing with incels for like a decade cause their philosophy is so fuckin regarded Also Yo bro, idgaf if other people know about what I said or don't, but the fact that you didn't reply to my comment an…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 02:52 PM

Great. Now can we get to the real argument, which is that the majority of fat people aren't attracted to other fat people, and that has nothing to do with 'incels'? And that you jumped to a kneejerk lamebrained insult, even though my comments had nothing to do with incels, because you had literally nothing intelligible left in the chamber? And that you didn't directly respond to me, and decided to bitch like a bitch because you didn't want to actually engage with your own shit ideas about attrac…

You absolutely do not understand how a male body works or how muscles work. At least we cleared that up. Thanks.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 02:36 PM

My first point was nearly identical to my second, which is there is a clear preference for men that look like the men on romance novel covers, i.e. steroid users.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 02:29 PM

I literally never once described myself as an incel and couldn't cause I haven't ever been one, really. You're thinking about somebody else. You also did not directly reply to my response to you. I haven't been single in a decade brother.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 02:28 PM

"Anyone who disagrees with me is an incel"-- my absolute favorite argument from the droolers here. Yo bro, I have a girlfriend, what's your issue? Why not respond directly to me? Afraid? I think fucking ugly, fat people is terrible for a person's self esteem. Humans ought to be fucking other humans they find genuinely attractive, and no one finds fat people genuinely attractive, not even fat people
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 02:24 PM

lmao now show me a single study where it says "the majority of men PREFER women with BBL"
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 02:22 PM

First, this is in relation to an original post about romance novel covers so the goal post was never moved, been talking about the same shit for three posts with no clear rebuttal. Also I said this 2 posts ago, and it's still true: 'Lean muscle' look isn't preferred, though, and does not get as much attention as steroids. 'Lean muscle' isn't what's on the cover of most romance novels. Also 'lean muscle' well into your late 30's and 40's absolutely does require some kind of steroid/test usage. Yo…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 02:19 PM

Yeah I am sure your husband and his father look like models on the covers of romance novels LMAO
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 02:16 PM

If your argument is "both genders have unrealistic expectations", ok, I can buy that. But if you genuinely think MOST* men care about BBL, you are legit deluded.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 02:16 PM

Every single woman I have ever met who says bullshit like this is dating a conventionally attractive man. Pretty sus.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 02:14 PM

It absolutely does matter but hey man, if you like sleeping with fat ugly women, you go right ahead. I am unsure how something that disgusting and pathetic could grant you self esteem, but I guess people are different.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 02:08 PM

I have no idea what that is
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 01:59 PM

You're talking about an incredibly tiny percentage of internet-brained, mentally ill humans.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 01:58 PM

Yeah dude I am sure they were absolute winners and not bottom of the barrel hogs lmao (Very few obese men actually fuck hot girls, stop insulting our intelligence, no one cares that you fucked ugly fatties)
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 01:57 PM

'Lean muscle' look isn't preferred, though, and does not get as much attention as steroids. 'Lean muscle' isn't what's on the cover of most romance novels. Also 'lean muscle' well into your late 30's and 40's absolutely does require some kind of steroid/test usage. Women have really shit takes about this because you have 0 idea how a male body functions during aging, and you think men magically grow Thor muscles the moment they touch a dumbbell. Also don't seem to understand that a 20 year old g…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 01:54 PM

They just want people to expend mental energy on nonsense.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 01:50 PM

You mean, to the vast majority of women, even though they refuse to admit this, their ideal physique is STEROIDS. I dunno why this is so hard to admit. It's painfully clear to any guy who works out a lot but does not take steroids, that the physique women most prefer is very clearly "some kind of steroid use" and within the top 5-10-% of height.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 01:48 PM

They're ragebait. Looks like you fell for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 01:45 PM

Not the guy you responded to, and never had trouble dating, but 70% of American women are overweight. 30-40% are obese. That leaves 30% of normal women who aren't walri, and out of those, plenty are already coupled up. Out of those left single, they are pursued en masse by the remainder of the men. So yes. Most women and men are low quality. The "medium to high" quality men and women who remain single are left with a much smaller subset of potential mates.

I think how most fat men talk about themselves and how most fat women talk about themselves is a great look into how women and men interact with the world and view reality in general. When was the last time you met some fat dude who called himself 'curvy' or 'plus sized'? Every fat man on Earth is just like 'I am a fat monster, pizza absolutely rules' and that's that. Love this one. "I have the secret data you have to pay me for, even though I've proved already I cannot assess data, and do not have the data."
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 04:31 PM

Why does asking for data about an assertion make me autistic? You straight up said: " Strong correlation between perennially friendless and perennially romantic partner-less." This is an assertion. This isn't some random guesswork -- it is not "relative language" -- you are making a claim about reality, presumably because there is some data that led you to this belief. And then when someone says, "hey, that's a pretty weird claim about reality, can I have any correlative data?" You tell them the…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 04:24 PM

The problem is you didn't post any data. You just asserted a thing and said "yup look at the correlations hurrrrr durrr". What correlations? Where? There's no numbers. It's like the exact opposite of how a data scientist would respond to this.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 04:19 PM

There are times when correlation does imply causation. I don't think that's the case for a dataless assertion on the internet (aka everything you just wrote). So "what I'm getting at" is all you wrote, fundamentally, boiled down, is, "I have no idea if this is true, and either do you", which could have gone without saying.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 04:11 PM

Divorce rate in Maine strongly correlates with per capita consumption of margarine You could have just written "we don't know if it's true" and it would be the same comment
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 04:05 PM

I'm in my 30's and have never been able to date IRL. No idea how to approach people, and refuse to ingratiate myself in stranger's lives because I find it incredibly fuckin off-putting.

I should have added that every time I start dating someone new, I delete the app. So 2-3 a day is really me just having the app for like a week or month MAX, and most of the first/second dates go nowhere. The difference here is that my buddy could bring a new 9/10 home every weekend and I watched him do this for like five years. They wanted to fuck him, no questions asked, wanted to be with him, no matter what. He could have done it every day if he wanted. And he wasn't the only dude I knew who …
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 03:54 PM

No. Tall. Have posted here many times, got a solid 5/10 on da face. I have a good friend who looks like Ryan Gosling and has a house. He is actually hot, and our experiences couldn't be more different. Leads me to believe the difference between 'guy who we will put up with' and 'guy we actually like' is a gigantic fuckin chasm in women's minds.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 03:01 PM

I originally posted this to counter the point that 'if you're attractive you'll get a lot of attention on OLD', which I don't think is necessarily the case, and statistically doesn't really work when you consider the gender disparity on the apps. I don't consider myself attractive btw and probably don't deserve the attention I do get. This does mean that lots of men who are probably higher than a 6/10 still don't get a comparable amount of choice, so 'match amount' can't exactly correlate with '…
