I am an experienced physician currently on rotation in a female-led ward/department. You answered your own quandary in the first sentence: "female-led department". Women have a hive mentality, and you mustn't question the hive. To disrupt the hive will be met with hostility and contempt. I also work in a female dominated profession, not just a department (I am a Sign Language Interpreter). I can't help but feel like I am overlooked when it comes to feedback and questions. It is not just to your …

Report it to the police. Always have some kind of paper trail. Make sure you have texts, pictures, something. Prove that this has been going on and that you are not the perpetrator. Godspeed

hence why I chose to disconnect

Yeah, keep projecting there, dude. Some of us have actually overcome our fears. I am choosing to disconnect from this conversation now. I genuinely wish you luck to find peace

And which fears exactly might those be?

Sounds like you're projecting

Dude my entire family is military "stereotypical macho-man tough" and I am a Sign Language Interpreter with a theatre background. I don't subscribe to any "cult". No one's approval is needed except my wife, who already accepts me for who I am. I get your jaded, but relax, man.

You are in the vast minority, but it is good to hear this

No. By definition they are opposites. You cannot be both

I vehemently disagree with this entire post. Emotional intelligence isn't something that is inherently masculine nor feminine. It is something that comes with maturity and, frankly, choice. You can be non-confrontational and still get what you want. You can be direct without coming across as aggressive or arrogant. You can be empathetic and kind-hearted without being a doormat. There is a time and place for these things, such as when you are around children. People in general will see that a man…

Good on your manager for recognizing because all women usually have rose colored glasses when it comes to that stuff. Legitimately impressed

The constant feeling of not being "enough". "You aren't doing enough, you aren't working hard enough, you aren't trying hard enough, you aren't succeeding enough, YOU AREN'T ENOUGH!" constantly nagging at the inside of your mind... until one day you just lose it and crash out

These stories I hear about "boy moms" are just flabbergasting. My mom had 2 boys. She is FOR SURE a boy mom. However, ain't nothing like the stereotype. I mean she was more distant than she should have been and had me learn how to ride a bike my damn self and didn't help me, but she wasn't incestuous by any means

My 1-year anniversary is coming up. Communication is literally the key to it all. I have these same fears as well, but communication and traditionalist values will get you far

Men want reciprocity, yes, but in a different kind of way. Men don't want to have the door pulled open for them, or their char pulled out. We want to feel seen and appreciated. However, one thing that is out of the norm that I'm sure your man (assuming you have one) would like is a bouquet of flowers. Statistically, almost all men get flowers for the first time at their funeral, so flowers would be nice. My wife got me my first bouquet of flowers on Valentine's Day 2021, and I still have one of …

Let me guess. Your friend is single, and has a kid or two. The last part may not be true, but the first part almost definitely is. Single women bring other women down all the time because women (as a whole) hate to see other people happier than them. If they see someone happier than them, they bring them down to their level of unhappiness. Never listen to your single friends, they will ruin all your relationships

I mean this sincerely but good luck finding one. They are few and far between, if they even exist. There have been a few firms that existed in the past, but have since disbanded for bs reasons. I wish you the best of luck, genuinely, and I have upvoted this for visibility

You're joking. One is putting a hole into some cartilage, the other is removing a gland from a major organ. They are not the same thing, even remotely, and I am frankly insulted that you view them in such a way

Women have those rights, men do not. We don't have a right to bodily autonomy, as is clearly evident on this discussion as well as other laws

That is fair, however the implications are not the same. One is someone ear, the other is someone's genitals. I agree that we shouldn't be doing it do anyone without their conscious permission, but one is definitely worse than the other.

I concur absolutely, however for some reason one is viewed as morally heinous and the other as commonplace. THAT is what needs to change.

At least it is part of their religion, even though I still believe it to be wrong. They have some kind of actual reason

Piercings can heal and are minimally evasive, which you have already correctly said

I'll give that one to you, but they are few and far between because the amount of actual intersex babies born in a given year is VERY rare

A few countries in africa do female mutilation for religious/cultural reasons, but there is a push to stop it, because of course they are, because "you can't do that to girls!"

The "African" part is doing more than you think. It'd be worse if you were white, because NO ONE wants to hire the white man

First off, women are not oppressed in today's society. They live life on easy mode. Second, women use double standards to their advantage like it's their job. It's their fault for getting upset, because I have the philosophy where if you get insulted by someone calling you a name, then you are letting words control you. And if you let words control you, then you can let anyone control what you do and say. It's the same logic as black people getting so irate when being called the N word. You are …

Frankly dude you should get better friends. It's hard for men, but I have 2 actual friends who I call brothers. One is a childhood friend, and the other is a friend formed through unlikely bonds. Everyone else is simply an acquaintance.
