Well it’s not really the same as a rape scenario. As much as I love to see liars like the woman in the article get their due justice, the more important injustice is the wrongly convicted man. I value an innocent person’s freedom more than a guilty persons punishment. In a perfect world we could have both. Sadly that’s not always the case.

I think this will be an unpopular opinion but I think this sort of thing will deter others from coming clean. Don’t get me wrong fuck anyone who makes a false report, but sometimes the person coming clean is the only way the victim will get out of prison and have a normal life. Maybe implement something where if the liar comes clean on their own they get a reduced sentence?

They are doing a what’s called a high risk traffic stop. Usually done for stops involving armed or dangerous subjects. Basically the idea is they use their vehicles as cover, so going in between the two cars would be a bad idea. There were probably multiple occupants in the vehicle.

As with all statistics, they can be twisted to fit any narrative. I'm sure if your statistic is true then it can be partially explained by females calling the police against their aggressors more likely then males calling on theirs. They likely didn't "make" you leave. Police have no power to make someone leave their residence unless they are arresting you. Often Police will request that one of the parties leave in some situations to avoid a future conflict. That being said, police don't explain your rights to you in most situations and asking can be confused with telling. Either way if you think you were wronged then file a formal complaint with their Internal affairs department.

It's sad that the general consensus is that police will always side with the woman. If probable cause is evident that a domestic crime occurred and the woman is the aggressor then she's going to jail. It's a mandatory policy for many jurisdictions in the United States.

It's so odd to me that the sentencing can be so varied when it comes to mothers killing their own babies. I'm referring to the last link you posted. Many women don't even get actual jail time. It's as if society believes that if a woman doesn't want her baby then it ceases to be a human.

I fully understand that the bias is there, but most counties have a mandatory arrest policy on domestic violence. If you call, and they find probable cause that a domestic crime occurred (i.e. You have a bruise, there are witnesses) then she is going to jail. What she did to the victim was completely unnecessary. She already had it and could have dropped it off at a fire station with zero repercussions. She had no right to dictate if it lives or dies at the point when it's born. I don't think this case has anything to do with the legality of abortion, as it was obviously legal at the time it happened.
