2	Why is it considered socially unacceptable to talk to another person in public? I thought that everyone in the U.S did that. In Aust its quite unusual to have "random chats" with people. As mentioned, being able to walk up to a stranger and start a conversation where you actually bring value as opposed to just commenting on the weather is a rare and valuable skill.
