I've known people for whom that wasn't true, and myself was immediately and immensely turned off the topic of circumcision the moment I learned what it was ("penis cutting") as a little girl. Routine genital cutting is by definition an action which is sexual in nature done to a non-consenting child, as well as violent in nature. It doesn't take a genius to figure out why it shouldn't be done to kids, regardless of your own individual sexual experiences as an adult.

Feminism representing gender equality makes sense in countries/cultures where the power dynamic is indeed deeply tilted in the male direction, but in places where this is not the case - such as most of the modern developed world, at least in the West - it no longer makes sense to pretend feminism and gender egalitarianism are necessarily the same thing. In fact, I do think it's very possible for feminism to overstay its welcome.

If being pro-child means being pro-inequality of gender then I guess I'm a sexist. Children deserve to be caretaken by their primary attachment figure. This article is awful and sexist. Prison isn't "working" for women OR men. Yes, a greater percentage of the extremely violent and unstable inmates are male as opposed to female, but a very great number of prisoners of both sex are decent people who are not especially dangerous to those around them. Even if there were a 50/50 chance the kid would want to be circumcised, it's still best to er on the side of not acting. I'm a woman, female, cisgender, concerned with how men are often treated because it hurts me a lot to see other people hurt, and especially my close loved ones. Women are dehumanized in their own way, yes, but so are men in their own way, when they are treated as expendable or unable to be hurt.

Regardless of why this statistic exists, it does exist - men die of suicide more often than women do, and that's a notable issue. I doubt women attempt suicide more than men, but it is possible that they tend to pick less lethal methods than men do. I honestly don't know, I just know that I'm concerned about suicide rates, and that men are disproportionately affected, for whatever reason(s).

No such thing as a crime that's worse when a man commits it. It can actually be harder for men to be taken seriously when they are the victims of, say, sexual violence. Men are more likely to commit severe physical violence on another person than women are, but that doesn't mean "man bad" or that there aren't cases of women doing the same thing out there.

Yeah there's two things wrong with "why do we need men," one is that there are areas where men generally do better (as you said), but secondly human beings don't need to perform to have value - just existing is valuable in-and-of itself. Technically speaking the world would go on without either sex (assuming a replacement technology was used for reproduction), but let's just...not go there. We all deserve to exist.

I think people confuse morality with evolution and culture. Things males have to fear in the modern, developed Western world include forced conscription, forced genital cutting, and the dismissive attitude they may face if they themselves were raped. I think it's hateful. People of both sexes have been exploited based on their sex for a long time, and women do currently have a foothold on power and society that they didn't previously have. I feel like people are trying to simultaneously give women the privilege of holding power yet also the privilege of being seen as someone who needs to be protected. I think severe physical violence is more commonly committed against females by males than vice versa, but emotional abuse and manipulation can be just as devastating to a person, and female-on-male abuse in general is still being ignored by society.

Having a minor in gender studies usually means a person understands sex-based issues less than an uneducated person, in my humble opinion.
