I'd be happy to entertain a more in-depth, extrapolated upon response from you, though I gather the gist of what you've said.

I'd be interested in hearing your elaboration on this.

Conclusion, I'd rip out just about any bit of me quite willingly to make sure my son is prepared for this life.

I appreciate you trying to be a good father.

Unfortunately, not even that helps much externally speaking. It may assist with your own internal peace, but the court system doesn't give a shit about your stoicism and will happily rape you while you stay stone faced.

I was married to a BPD woman. They are bona-fide, off the charts crazy, and manipulative in ways that are hard to describe or understand -- but let's take caution from removing agency from individual men. Men can still do wrong, evil things, just as women can. My ex-wife attempted to have me do a number of unspeakable things, and I withstood in spite of the rage and fury that would assuredly follow. My moral center would not permit me to conduct myself in that way. That being said, BPD is more s…

I certainly hope my son can still learn some valuable things I've always hoped I'd be able to pass along to my children. I still hope I am able to impart the value of fatherhood to him.

Well, at I've stated elsewhere, I'm not an advocate of violence with the exception of self-defense, and I still wonder is perhaps even then. I'm a borderline pacifist, and only the thought of my son or family coming to harm, or me and thus being unable to care for my son, prevents me from going to that final step. (Funny thing is that my wife tried to portray me as physically abusive because she liked to be spanked and choked during sex.) That aside, I suppose from a practical position, men feel…

Believe me, I understand your anger. But I have a principled stance about the use of violence, one that I hope I can still somehow impart into my son. I up at midnight because I've barely slept in the week since. It's rough. Some number of years ago I discovered how to control my emotions and not be dictated to by my feelings. I'm thankful for that. But I can tell you, I may grieve quietly, I may not emote it outwardly, but I grieve deeply. I genuinely always desired to be a father. And now that…

I appreciate your honesty. I don't know how I'm going to feel about the situation, when it inevitably arises. But I'll keep your comment in mind, I can assure you that.

I just received the judge's opinion Friday morning at 10a. My ex-wife, who is a well-documented addict and suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder has been de-facto given full custody of my 3 year old son. I, thankfully, have lived a respectful and peaceful life and haven't been a moron. She had not, unbeknownst to me, until too late. After 2 years, the judge appointed a guardian ad litem to the case, after a half dozen or more delays in the hearing. I had a tome of evidence. She presented …

If she has any financial resources, it likely will. I've been in your exact situation. My best advice: audio is useful, but video is a gift from God. Get video. A judge cannot excuse away video. My wife was threatening every manner of harm, defamation, self-harm, harming our children -- you name it. The judge just labeled me as paranoid for recording. Video wasn't something he could excuse away, though. YMMV, as judges are all different, but, DOCUMENT DOCUMENT DOCUMENT. I had a stack of discover…

My ex-wife is also BPD. I'll happily include a primer to this post when I'm off work.
