Fascinating that it’s the men, who don’t have to recover physically and emotionally from childbirth, that are apparently just better than women at being a SAHP...

What do you consider "dramatic"? A girl who doesn't tolerate shit treatment from people? Someone who holds their partners accountable for their actions? Right, young women don't have this kind of "drama" because they just don't know better yet. Taking advantage of that is absolutely predatory behavior.

I am in my 30's and have never slept with a man outside a relationship, and that tends to be the norm among most women. Can't you have tingles without sex?

So wait, are women sluts for having too much sex and don’t deserve dates or are they prudes/ice queens for not having sex soon enough and don’t deserve dates?

Where do you get this statistic that most violent crime involves weapons? Also consider that an assailant at night on the street may view a man as a more difficult target than a smaller woman who is less likely to fight back. Feelings are not all about statistics. We feel more vulnerable as targets. Plus, a violent attack such as rape is not only physically damaging but mentally as well. Women are slut shamed and asked "well what were you wearing? why were you in that part of town at night alone…

Do you know that most violent crime is committed by men, regardless of who the victim is? And a man is more likely to be strong enough to fend off an assailant or too large to be picked up, whereas women are usually smaller and can easily be picked up and thrown around/kidnapped. Do you think women's fear comes out of nowhere? That we enjoy the attention of having someone protect us? I can assure you, it's not a good feeling to depend on someone else.

Do you understand the difference between equality and equity? In this space it is IMPOSSIBLE for things to be equal. Men just are inherently bigger and scarier to women, there is just no way around that. Men generally don't live their lives in constant fear of being assaulted or raped or harassed, but a lot of women do. The way to make things more EQUITABLE is to do small things like this to make women feel as safe as men do in their daily lives. The equality is in feeling safe, not the actions …

Again, is that too much of effort to help women feel safer? And how is this the same as intervening in an assault?

I thought the main point of your post was that men shouldn’t go out of their way at all to help women feel comfortable, like not walking behind them at night, crossing the street to avoid scaring them, etc. This is what I consider to be slight consideration. It really costs you nothing at all and it makes a world of a difference to someone else. When did this become a conversation about a man intervening? In your OP you yourself say that this is about women feeling safe because of innocuous acti…

What benefit is it to be SLIGHTLY considerate to another human being?

I dare you to find a woman in your life who has not been sexually assaulted or harassed or has not feared for her safety walking at night. Now ask the same of men. You’ll see a difference.

I don’t game but I find gamer guys very attractive. Gaming requires attention to detail, strategy, imagination, etc. but of course like with anything else, too much of it is always a bad thing.

Thanks for fighting the good fight on this thread. It's not about money, it's about your life and body being at risk.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
