If men were posting your name and photo in public groups without your consent, and accusing you of all sorts of things, and you couldn’t even respond to defend yourself, how would you feel? And would you keep dating a guy if you found out he was messaging your exes on FB asking for dirt about our? I hope not, because that guy would be way out of line.

A medical practice? It’s not about the safety. It’s that this is completely unnecessary and we are doing it to boys before they are old enough to consent. Medicine should save lives. This is totally useless and cosmetic. What if inner labia were removed just because men thought they looked gross? I’m not sure what you were trying to say here but whether a girl’s clitoris or other parts are removed in a hospital or a dirt hut makes no difference in terms of what you call it. Either way it’s still genital mutilation. And besides that, it is still common practice for this to be done by a religious leader in a place of worship.

No seriously, I’m curious how someone can defend this hypocrisy. I can’t think of a good reason. Religious? Yea, well the tribes in Africa and the Muslim groups doing it to young girls would say the same thing. Tradition? Yea, same. Public health and that tired argument that it’s more sanitary and safe? 🤮 Gimmie a break. The first I heard of it was when someone I was dating showed me screenshots. She read them to me and they just kept getting worse and worse, all from the same person commenting on her own request for tea (the only person who comment on the original post said “Yea, I know him. He’s a good guy”.) I had never heard of it and yet every woman I asked who I know uses dating apps had heard of it.

Advice? What can we do? There is nothing you can do. And no, this isn’t going to be something you just go to court over unless you have tens of thousands or more you’re ready to blow just to get in the door. We have to suck it up. Can’t even have a similar group because it gets shut down.
