That is disgusting. And the other way around people would be, rightfully, pissed off. Children should be allowed to stay children while they have the chance. That is disgusting.

So no straight men in her life but she has plenty of queer people in her life, so what would she do with me, a straight trans man? Would I make her head explode?

As a trans man, yes. Ugh. And thank you

Yikes. I'm single at the moment. And annoyingly, straight. I used to think I was a bi woman so i've been married to a man but he passed away (after I came out but before I was able to transition - he was supportive but... turns out, I was never bi. Long story. Church. Cisheteronormativity, blah blah. However I did love him, as love doesn't require sexual attraction and he was a good man) I've led a weird life lol. But yikes. I really wish people understood transitioning ftm doesn't make your emo…

Exactly. I'm a trans man and I have been on testosterone for over 2 years now and i've been experiencing this. It feels like before I was treated as human, and transitoning now means i've lost the right to be seen as human anymore. I constantly have to apologize for being a man to get anywhere now, for being exactly like i've always been, and i've freaking had it. I'm hairier and my voice is deeper and that stuff, but my emotions and the way I express them? No different. It came to a head today …

Thank you. I'm a trans man and now having lived both sides... both sides suck for different reasons. Misogny and Misandry are 2 sides of the same coin but anytime I try to talk about misandry I get told I have internalized transphobia or some shit. Or if one says misandry is real, people think you're saying misogny doesn't exist. Never said that. At this point I think it's impossible to have one without the other. We need to talk about both, but so many people seem allergic to that. They just pi…

This is perfect. Why can't people take just a minute to think "what if this happened the other way around?" before spouting off their hatred. They say they want equality, but their words and actions prove otherwise.

As a trans man, it's been so anger-inducing seeing all the misandry and the excuses and the denial. Misogny and Misandry are 2 sides of the same coin. And both are stupid. We're all human at the end of the day. Thank you for this post.

Normally i'm for censoring a name... but that is just advocating abuse and people like that should be outed imo. That is disgusting. Yet if you say it the other way around, oh then they realize it's abusive and wrong... but not when they do it, huh?

Exactly. If someone wants true equality, neither a patriarchy or a matriarchy will work. It's not about equality. It's about superiority. Signed, a trans man. I can't believe I used to believe their crap at all.

As a straight trans man I have questions for her... and if she says "oh it's ok for a straight trans man to listen" then I know she's transphobic, because to say it's ok for me she'd have to see me as a woman, despite the fact I don't look or sound like one anymore. I've been on T for a couple years. Because if you ask these people who say "except straight men" about trans men... they always make an exception for trans men, which p*sses me off because think about it... but then they say they are…

Misandry is so real. Context: I'm a 36 year old trans man. little over 2 years on T. I could see misandry was real to an extent before I transitioned, and since i've seen it's way worse than I ever realized before. Misogny and Misandry are both real (I know no one said misogny wasn't). They are 2 sides of the same coin. One can't exist without the other. To fight one, we have to fight both, and this is why we keep going no where. Because women refuse to believe misandry is real. Most of them. I …

They scream bloody murder and cry victim tears when the same happens to them, yet it's ok the other way around? The double standards (which i've lived as i'm a trans man) are astounding. Huge hypocrites complaining about men yet all they are doing is looking in the mirror.

Yup. Society cares about women, not men. Especially not straight men. Im barely 2 years on T. It's been like a gut punch. You don't realize how bad it is, until you live it. Edit: Thought I was in another subreddit I guess lol because I should mention i'm a trans man

I'm a trans man. 36, only been transitioning for a little over 2 years. Women can get away with anything (not literally true of course but a hell of a lot more than men) because they are seen as weaker and more emotional. At least that's why I think that happens. And in general people want to be superior, whether they realize it or not. They don't want actual equality. I can confidently say i'm the same person I was pre-T. The difference now is i'm happier and more confident because I like what …

Exactly. As a trans man, can confirm. It's like whiplash. "Learning" how society hates women growing up, and I have been abused by men in the past (and women...) but then experiencing the exact opposite when I look at it. Women are infantilized, and they are doing it to themselves. I feel like i'm now seen as going to the "evil" side. And I feel like I lost the most important privilege there is - to be seen as human. I could go on but it's ridiculous how out of touch most people are. Society doe…

As a trans man, living the stereotypes has been like whiplash. I'm 36. I'm only 2 years on T. I lived as a girl/woman for over 30 years. And now it feels like people think I transitioned to the "evil" side. The double standards are like a slap to the face. If I were to say anything it's "Oh you don't count [because you're trans]"... great, if I don't count, that's because you see me as a woman...

This, only so far i've been too afraid to say anything. I'm also a trans man.

Also a trans man. I'm 1 year 8 months on T. 8 months post top surgery. And yup. Since transitioning I feel like people see me as less than human now to be honest.

That is vile. Why do they never imagine it the other way around? The other way around it'd be sexual assault! No one owes anyone sex or a ring. No means no goes BOTH ways. And the comments, wtf?! Edit: I'm a trans man. I didn't transition just to lose my right to say no to sex or marriage. I didn't transition just to lose my right to humanity - but it sure seems that's whats happened.

Pretty much yea. I'm a trans man. I'm 35. Year and a half on T, 6 months post top. I'm a straight trans man to.. and physically disabled (and neurodivergent). I could see some of the crap men get before I transitioned, but my god it's worse than I realized. I didn't ask to be who I am, any of that. I just am.

I'm a trans man and I can't even begin to explain my feelings. I'm 35. I'm a year and a half on T and 6+ months post top surgery. I pass generally. So I know what it's like to grow up as a girl/woman into my 30s and now i'm suddenly seen as a man. I've struggled with dysphoria and now i'm happy with my body and who I am - but now some people see me as the enemy, the same people who loved me when I was a sapphic woman. But now i'm a straight [trans] man... Still part of the lgbt community. I used…

As a born disabled (vacterl association) trans man, I just want to glare at her, and when she calls me a traitor to womanhood remind her I couldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place because of disabilities. She's ableist, misandrist, and transphobic all at once. Edit: I've seen such women call trans men traitors, hence...

I'd like to know what they'd say to me. I'm a trans man. Been on T for a year and a half now. My guess is something i've heard before: That i'm a traitor and T is evil. Or they end up seeing me as a woman and infantilize me. I'm not a threat to them because they see me a woman. So it's either transphobia or misandry. Pick one, flip a coin.

I have never heard it explained to this degree, but yes. Hit the nail on the head. Of course the news and advertising business WANTS people to think what's causing those issues is the media... I love horror movies and video games. I hate real life violence. They are not the same. One is fiction. One is real.

I have nothing to add because, yes. Same. I didn't come this far to be treated like i'm not even human anymore. I didn't change as a person.

How do I deal with the bitterness? I'm trying to figure that out. Because i'm a 35 year old trans man. I'm 1 year and almost 5 months on T. I pass now. I lived into my 30s as a woman. I was a miserable unhappy one, but still. I could see then the misandry that existed (before I even knew it was a word) but now... i'm seeing it more and more. I try to use my voice where I can since I do have the whole life experience as a woman pre-transition thing. But it's exhausting and I also have other shit …

Yea. That balance couldn't be easy, sorry about that. But thank you very much for it :). Yea -_- there is a difference between recommending sensible ways to reduce the risks and outright victim-blaming but it's all seen the same sadly.

Thank you. It's a lot of conflicting emotions at the moment. I am scared obviously but I am also excited to transition. To finally feel like me. It's just now I got this extra worry on top of it. That's true, about being older and not having to worry about heartless teenagers. Good thing I don't drink anyway so I got that going for me to. Yes, I know it's not a guarantee i'll be a recipient of violence but it does seem like my chances of it will be going up as I begin to pass more. And true, eve…

I have hemangioma, large and invasive, on my right back of my leg from knee to privates. Pants covers it though. If that gets kicked or cut or something, if it starts bleeding ... i'll likely bleed to death. I'm honestly worried I'm going to die for daring to transition but ... I was seriously considering suicide before so not transitioning isn't an option. And that's just one my physical medical issues. I was born with vacterl association, I have a lot of physical medical issues (In addition to…

I'm a trans man but i'm 34 and just started transitioning last month (6 weeks ago as I started T Feb 2nd) so I don't pass yet, at least I don't think I do but i've noticed significant changes for just 6 weeks so it's only a matter of time. So on one hand I could just say that, that i'm a trans man who didn't transition until my mid-30s (and I didn't fully realize i'm trans until age 30) so yes in fact I do know what it's like to be a terrified woman (even if I never actually was a woman). But th…
